  1. Hopefully DJ will sort permissions to do a 2mm or N version in time, especially if I finish my etched one, but also looking for the G1 version as a shelf queen to go with D800 and D63xx from Fred - brilliant models. Robert
  2. http://www.totally-transport.co.uk/gwr-aec-railcar.html Hi gang link to page of gen and some pics of railcars.. Robert
  3. Hi for a very quick look it seems the second cab end differs but the funny thing is the interior against the door moudlings looks like seats vice a van and it seems to be a single door not a double, as noted something getting mixed up but still time to mangle electrons. but a good start and in a short time compared to other models "on offer" in N, I hope the boys and girls at Dapol will check capacity in the shrink to fit machine ! as well as the O gauge time machine... Robert
  4. Hi , A good selection and inspirered for coach packs - more to come. NSE N gets a good lift - come on folks prove them right. Second batch MK2 Tso in blue grey welcome. Still looking for 158 ! Good news on 25 and 37/4 on its way Wagons and coaches look good and buildings esp Power station will be good sellers I am sure. Thanks for early Bump Robert
  5. Hi Dave, Hope all well and sorry to natter but any tooling news re class 17/23 as timeline not updated for a while? Cheers Robert
  6. Hi all, i have built track and points and as Ben says a good product and well thoughtout. I find it quite strong enough but as with all trackages care is needed - number of issue threads on here have folk putting hand up to rushing track and then reporting stock for falling off !! I have built a point and sample of track and had it at TINGS last year on 1:148 stand and it was played with and tiebar assembly did not fail - a good test I thought. 5 more and a trap to do for layout. I soldered droppers to bottom of crossing and where I linked stock and blades I made this long enough to be a tag to go below layout all in 0.3 brass wire. I also added a spot of oil to rail head when threading plain rail into sleeper units - made up 500mm lengths easily. - but asever care needed to avoid kinking rail. Viz packaging I wonder if this is due to Wayne`s other work as it might be a common package. If anybody wants a small sample of the future please PM me. Robert
  7. Hi Just in time for Arriva to do new Ocean blue liveries !! Can not wait to see samples thanks Robert
  8. Hi Jo have you looked at the Archer rivet transfers - DCC supplies had loads at DEMU looked really good. This looks very good anyway - I was going to graft a TPM cab on to a farish shell might just get on with it soon! Robert
  9. Hi Great thread - done this in N with Hurst sides, should be easier when Bachamann bring out 12xx coaches shortly - just in tiime to finish project ! Re tag I think this an errorette as ? is next to the heart for loves just easy give post time 00.50! a bit like reply all ... Robert
  10. Hi I understand CADs being checked for frontal tweaks but the to and fro-ing to China still takes ages despite electronic means - work load levels for designers I guess, still waiting for solid progress I guess but getting it right seems a good idea to me. When you look at CADS Dave published a while back a few tweaks and the odd window! needed sorting - having 56 MU equipment on front and amount of cab angle to check along with a concern with a friend over location of start of bodyside tuck under being high I spoke to Joel a while back - so it might be my fault - sorry !!!!! Given merry go round of projects and the pipeline to and from China I can see it taking a while to recreate CAD among the 20 or so projects Dapol have on the go from Pacers - steam locos - through OO and O projects. Hopefully something "solid" this year!! Robert
  11. Hi TGS plans now getting nearer so with the chance of a complete HST albeit with a TRSB I was wondering what would come next ? GNER blue , GNER blue orange door, GNER White stripe, NXEC, East coast Trains - a governmental managed franchise. GW Merlin ,GW Trains "fag packet VTXC branded power cars on buffer fitted PC MML tangerine and teal ( my fav), MML ocean blue NMT to go with those power cars you have got?- well yellow buffet and TGS - I fancy a 2 TGS , TRSB, TF in NR yellow with blue stripes as a coach pack. For LHCS how about Anglia turquiose/white , Stripe livery and Greater Anglia - would need a DBSO for some livery periods but MK 3b DVT available. Livery only but coach not quite right would be the Chiltern Livery in the new version or perhaps the minor changes to WSR A re run of Wreham and Shropshire DVT - the VT specials , the all blue version done for Hull trains or the blue/silver Chiltern one off . please add "votes" Robert
  12. Hi ATM 5.1 wheels are just the solution - At this time not available direct but check with N gauge Society shop or BH Enterprises, or N Brass loco as a thought . Robert
  13. Hi The BDA is very good, without deck it looks like the "burnt out" version I saw on a freight in South Wales after brigade attended to the well alight waggon ! Will the crown come out under load? The real ones -well some had a crown I saw at Bescot years ago. Would a 1/32 be possible ? Robert
  14. Hi Not in a push pull sort of way, but 37/0, 37/4 47/4 and 55 recorded at the helm on no E+G duties. I also expect the Mcrats made a showing but cannot instantly recall. The 37s hauled them on Ediburgh - Oban excursions as did the Deltic - perhaps only once or twice. 47/4 hauled to Inverness and Aberdeen. I cannot recall any southern Scotland work in my little memory ! - but more than willing to be proved wrong. Mind you when transfered south back to WCML duties I guess they left hauled by AC stock- again I cannot recall a picture. Rule one can also apply on your model! Robert
  15. Hi Dave , all good stuff - I have a couple of the inspection platforms and good to see one made up! Western is a stunner and 22 with cut outs look good as well -weathering fine on it as well but no glazing ? Cheers and thanks for update pictures Robert
  16. Hi My blue 56 arrived today , well about to go under alteration , pop off grills add Taylor first batch grills - finer than Dapols and renumber as 56004 with rebuilt cabs job done with altered grills as well. I can see a load of DCR engines as well off these models! Runs well on test as did the EW&R model. Hopefully large logo and Colas models make the mark. Robert
  17. Hi , currently got trailers done using Dapol loco hauled stock and thinking on how to do PCs - I was wondering about 3D printing but would be looking at exercising the cheque book for that part of project. Robert
  18. Also check Railtec transfers for stripes and numbers. Robert
  19. Hi gang, Blue grey set came today - lovely looking running numbers might be a fraction oversize but the "Inter-city" logo like other coaches sits on the tumblehome curve a little and to my eye is a little low as a result. Not a problem as along with the CDL bump are coming off. At Ally Pally saw some for as low as £72. Robert
  20. Hi gang , Just to add Railtec advise that a white version of the ScotRail sheet now available , I had suggested doing some as Scotrail with R in lowercase and Steve has done just that so for coaches in blue grey choice of Large R or small r available. My sets look fine and run fine sorry to read of rimless painting.... cheers Robert
  21. HiTim, As often said within days of me finishing the Worsley works model lurking in my very large box of started models! The good gents will announce such a model in N. But given sales of N commissions I think it would be a brave move- where brave is defined as making a small fortune out of a large one. Robert
  22. Hi Dave the 3/4 from above shot makes the bogies look like they stick out of the side a bit but the end on shot shows a reasonable tuck in effect of the light? The Strathwood "looking back at EE locomtives" shows all tucked under . An effect of looking really close at pics shows fire break glass on opposite corners, Second mans side no 1end (Rad) and secondmans side no 2 end. The cad shows all 4 corners, sorry not spotted earlier Book shows a lovely pick of two tone green D5908 with full yellow ened bonnet and a BR arrow of indescison amidships, numbers are steam era font- what a lovely mix! Robert
  23. Dave , This looks really good and just a slight baseboard trim to fit pits. Now you can model any of your unwanted locos half in pit/ out pit 47852 - fell in said pit 12th Feb 1990! I look forward to prgress and seeing a RTC 17 on shed. Robert
  24. HI, After much faffing hope this ok! looks better in flesh , I think white too bright and will look at swapping with the yellower bar Robert
