Hi gang,
Hattons advised just now of the arrival of the Uk class 56 in construction livery along with some more coaches! Great timing in time for Christmas. Just hope livery is right after earlier discussions- the delay does suggest a time for correction, hopefully spare bodies as well to come...

Thanks Dave,
I understand the way to make a small fortune in railway modelling is to start with a large one , hopefully the bank will support the venture fully and not leave you paddle and homeless. I look forward to news of metal being cut and if you can feather the clayton roof lip it would be better but there must be engineering limits. Hopefully new projects equally worthwhile and I look forward to little bits of info as do many on RMW.

Hi This looks really good - I did a much smaller model in the late 80s with minitrix stock! You will need to watch cats and signals - eaten off tops - I guess cats floss with the ladders!
Robert
Hi Just to add MRAs now look lovely in yellow once transfers added will post pics but at this stage look great
thanks for all your efforts and latest work is really great , more power to your elbow
Robert
Hi got one to convert and going "INTERCITY" would be the simple option as removing with t cut leaves a nice shiny area for the larger logo and allows correct use of the body "1"- albeit white and not silver.
Robert
Hi, Dead easy to change took just 30 minutes to t cut numbers off bodyside panel, legend on sides and replace with fox transfers.
did occur it would have been possible to create the intercity pullman legend to cover stripped area. did not change number but did think of putting an "M" in front.
Lovely model and any NQPs will go into a 252 set as this needs a full repaint and coaches had buffers if i recall.
Robert
How about an N gauge TGS ?
or Mk 3 sleeper
Still fancy APT in time
1000 Twins in N or southern prototypes in any gauge.
75 ton sheldon brake down crane and match wagons

Hi all,
Dapol now aware of faultly application and as they say are looking into how it occured. My take as ever is that an old scheme plan has been resurected for the livery and modern corrected one ignored - To my eye the Intercity 125 sits to low as it did on the blue grey batch but this was corrected on later verisons.
I have found it easy to correct these faults but as you say most will be returned - I can see NQP fever!
Robert
Hi Sorry to report when asked this Dapol staff said at this time no but you never know in the future. I still look forward to the arrival of these locos soon - please !
Robert
Hi Jeremiah,
Well if you use inslufrog and bobo diesels as a minimum on dc only possible to run a layout built in 2013 as if built in 1983... It will run well with care but that is all. Even a small shed layout or shunting mini in DCC with a minimum of points and peco instructions are clear and simple you should have no problem building a layout but track will always look American - careful ballasting and perhaps stripping sleepers and respacing will help but points will always be a signature point. But your railway and a good place to start so have fun and perhaps in a few years time as skills consolidate and grow then these points will be right for you. I have on an extension using code 55 electro frog removed much excess peco plastic and they look much better. plain track to match rest so really this historic layout is just that and will stay for that reason. Next layouts WILL be fineNtrax .
Robert
Jeremiah,
These points are ok to make - have a look at the Ngauge Forum finetrax pages and my album page. If you consider it a plastic kit with brass parts not far off the mark. The jig shown makes blades and the small bit of soldering quite straight forward. If you do get to make the Indian based layout however I would think you need flatbottom rail so Peco might be the way forward , but when funds permit I recommend making one of these as part of the learning curve !

Hi Pylonman,
Been looking at this "problem" for a while it certainly changes shade in sunlight! However Arriva have advised me that the colour is Ocean Blue and its RAL id is 5020.
I had thought of International blue as used on 47145 but it is a bit dark, Unless Precision can offer a solution then Rail blue will work as an easy solution.
Robert
Hi I think the exposure of models in press lately has helped profile N soc mag shows N gauge brass West coast style gantries plus Dapol parts. Ben Ando and club layout have recently been show cased on Model rail so hopefully 92 will make it - I do have a fantastic CJM one so well worth saving up for it guys.

Hi remaining Cubs moulder away in Washwood heath yard behind locked gates after DBS shut yard last year. Now in 2mm /n gauge your prayers are about to be answered by N gauge Soc latest kit - with a cube and timber version soonish to be released.
Not sure if only 6 converted I thought it was twice that to make up most of a rake?
