  1. Titles very misleading? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hornby-class-60-Diorama-/130871531987?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item1e788d19d3 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bachmann-class-57-Diorama-/130871514887?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item1e788cd707
  2. If I go down the 4EPB route, sounds like a plan!
  3. A refurbished BEP would be great as I have a greyhound 4CIG that it could run with. Again, concerns over the glazing and the TSRB would be difficult! Agree with the method for the 4EPB, though getting hold of two DMBSO shells may not be easy.
  4. Thanks for that Red Fox. I had forgotten about that thread. That would be a lovely model to do though my concerns are how to do the glazing. I'm more than happy to carve up the sides, I did so with 1500.
  5. Morning all. Unable to resist a bargain, I now have a 31-426A 4CEP (the green one with yellow ends). Question is, what to do with it! I have EMUs but they are all in the 80's/90's era. My thoughts at the moment are to either: 1) Convert it to a refurbished CEP with hopper vents (possibly using MJT sides). I have converted a CEP to the protoype 1500 without hopper vents so can't do that! 2) Using suitable body parts (Replica) replace the shells and create a BR type 4EPB. Any thoughts, comments and suggestions welcome!
  6. Yes I am pleased about the release of the NSE mark 2a - interesting to see that it has a completely different code as opposed to a lettered suffix. I wonder how well the blue/grey RFB will sell? Strikes me as a coach that may end up in the bargain bin.
  7. As opposed to this! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bachmann-4-CEP-like-EMU-4-Car-Unit-in-Connex-Livery-Conversion-Non-Powered-/121078203556?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item1c30d2c4a4
  8. Very interested to see whether this goes 'mad'. Looks a really nice paint job but is strictly speaking incorrect due to it being an unrefurbished set (commented on in the listing). Odd choice of unit number though. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bachmann-EMU-Class-411-4-CEP-South-West-Trains-Conversion-4-Car-Unit-/310620427658?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item48526b958a
  9. Fair point. I have quite a steep gradient on a couple of my lines so the haulage capability of the Hornby power car meant that it could haul a 7+2 rake up and over my flyover without any issues. It's also the reason I remotored my Lima 59's with Bachmann 66 motors. In terms of stock, I really like the Lima HST coaches and the train can be pushed around the layout with no problems. My sons Hornby FGW HST cannot be reversed or the coaches fall off!
  10. One option is to repaint the beige with the railmatch exec light grey. It's not that large an area to paint. I keep meaning to get round doing it with mine! You may be able to fit the Hornby power unit into the Lima body - I don't know whether anyone has tried it (?)
  11. I opted to go for replacing both the power and dummy car with the new Hornby power car and dummy car. The only problem is that the beige used by Hornby is different to the Lima coaches but I think it is worth it for a smooth running power car with directional lighting at each end. R2702 is the reference number. I would sell all the power cars that you have and use the money to go towards the pack. I don't know how easy they are to find now though, there don't seem to be any on ebay at the moment.
  12. Yes I was getting it confused with the one that they are going to release (47834 Fire Fly). Thanks.
  13. I assume this has only just been released. Shouldn't the lower section of 47835 be white and not beige? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bachmann-CLASS-47-BODYSHELL-IN-INTERCITY-SWALLOW-LIVERY-47-47835-WINDSOR-CASTLE-/160982341256?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item257b4b9688
  14. It really ought to be as I have never seen a photo of a 2 car NSE 205. I assume this is why they have sidelined the model as an extra coach needs to be produced. I hope it will happen though, as it then opens the door for a 4EPB.
  15. I've always felt this too with all units that carried the black triangle. I assume if it was rotated 180 degrees (or 60 or 300!) it would not look like a smile but more like a cross face!
  16. Is the 2BIL bogie interchangeable with the 4VEP one (aside from the bogie frames)?
  17. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vi-TRAINS-V2091-Class-47-Network-Southeast-47587-/221188139797?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item337fd72b15 "will only sell for a good price so as strange as it sounds you'll be doing me a favour by not bidding" OK I won't then.
  18. I assume the running number for the yellow one is still the same?
  19. Use the van for firewood maybe?
  20. I think the general formation for an SR type 4EPB was DMBSO, TSO, SO, DMBSO. The 55xx series was created being DMBSO, SO, SO, DMBSO. The idea was that they would be the first batch withdrawn which I think they were. The 2EPBs were more of a problem as they had half a coach as compartments but again, I think they were prioritized on peak hour workings.
  21. 47522 - the plot continues! More retracted bids sees it down to £105. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/140898366717?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
  22. All the bids by one person have been cancelled. There is now another bidder who has a history of retracting bids! More twists than a soap opera!
  23. Well if the two bidders are genuine, surely the current 'losing' bidder would opt for one of the £299 BIN locos on offer. Unlike some of the other limited editions that Bachmann have sold in the past, I can't see 47522 being that great a seller. The £299 BIN lot had been reduced to £249 yesterday afternoon but has been revised again this morning to £299. I wonder if they are connected?!
  24. You forgot to list: 4D-009-005 #55025 Network Southeast or is that me just being hopeful!
  25. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bachmann-class-47522-DONCASTER-ENTERPRISE-not-Hornby-or-Heljan-BRAND-NEW-/150968461623?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item23266be937 4 available!
