  1. Cracking videos Russ. They really show the huge extent of the area modelled and all the hard work you have put in. And my next request is a video showing moving trains please. Regards, Brian.
  2. Wasn't saying Latifi was part of the conspiracy ffs, once the crash happened FIA pounced on it.
  3. Hmm, double quotes, I'm blessed. Sweet dreams. I obviously didn't sway you with my argument but hey ho such is life.
  4. FIA are the conspiracy crew, and possibly mistreating a black, and proud of it, driver. Did you not focus on what happened at the end of the race?
  5. So Tehran is maybe where "black" folk come from. Pushing the boundaries mate with your argument imho. My comment related to the new constitution of the F1 board who presumably will sort everything out knowing not a lot and maybe just p!issing off LH even further with this alleged threat of sanctions for not turning up for Christmas party.
  6. Not an idea, just a comment having watched the race and looking at media reports in the days since the injustice mate. Feel free to expand on your one liner.
  7. A couple of blokes who used to rally a bit, without being heard of much, and Bernie's ex, OMG. Should LH decide to jack it in I wouldn't blame him but I would hope he carries on. This business reeks of getting the only black driver out of the paddock. I seriously hope he stays for 2022 and fights back against the new F1 establishment.
  8. Hi Andy, Love the latest video, especially your scenics in the harbour/estuary. This is probably a bit late but I offer the following pics which may or may not be useful/inspirational. Firstly The Cob at Lyme Regis. Now, West Bay harbour near Bridport (Broadchurch land). And finally a sunken boat at Axmouth. Regards, Brian.
  9. I must admit I've never tried that. I always transfer any video from the camera to the laptop.
  10. ...to YouTube I assume? Are you using the right format (mp4)?
  11. ...and a new job with Red Bull?
  12. I'll look forward to that. Have you got a cam truck yet?
  13. Yay! Welcome back mate. I've missed your updates. Keep them coming. Any chance of a video?
  14. Felt actually sick at the end. LH 12 seconds ahead then disaster. Was the race director inept or was there an agenda? Even a once famous knighted former Scottish champ quoted as time for a change of F1 world champ. Makes you wonder about a conspiracy theory. Disgraceful race management at the very least.
  15. Very good video Andy. It's always nice to hear your thoughts about how to progress the scenics. I also like the speed of the passenger services on this video, or rather the lack thereof. I think in some of your other videos they flew through a bit too quick for my liking, especially so on the bends by the tunnel - but it might be my eyesight Keep up the great work. Regards, Brian.
  16. Thanks for that suggestion. It might well come to that if plan A fails Thanks again for all of your advice micklner. Regards, Brian.
  17. Many thanks for your comments Guys - all arer being carefully considered and also filed here for my future reference. Progress has been glacial for two reasons. Firstly, I'm trying to martial enough bottle confidence together to bend the boiler handrail to the correct shape. However, there is another reason. Examining BR era pics of the handrail... ...there appear to be differing handrail knob lengths on the smoke box and boiler thus ensuring that the handrail is dead straight without any bends in the vicinity of the smoke box/boiler junction. So to replicate this, and in the absence of any in the kit, I ordered some Alan Gibson long handrail knobs which are now to hand. So taking 4 long knobs and one kit knob threaded onto a straight piece of handrail... ...a trial fit was made to see how it looked, see below. This looks OK to my eyes so I will now fix all the side handrail knobs in position and think about progress the bending up of the handrail to suit. Thanks again for all the advice freely offered and gratefully received. Regards, Brian.
  18. Hi, I have tried several times to purchase the guide using PayPal and once using my bank card, all of which failed. Is there a problem with Pocket Mags or is it me? Please advise. Regards Brian
  19. Bad press imho. Apparently all said Tarquins are insulating something or other by supergluing them selves to motorways. A lot of em look like an age group who should know better, or is it "early onset", or has the world gone mad?
  20. I have filed a bit more away from the footplate in the area adjacent to where the offending coupling rod pin was shorting and running is now as smooth as you like. All the bits I ordered have arrived and various holes filled so the smoke box dart... ...and the whistle and safety valves fitted. Next up, which I have been dreading, is to fit the extensive and curved main boiler hand rail. I'm planning on cutting and bending it to shape, threading the single smoke box front handrail knob onto the resulting wire appendage and sliding the whole thing onto the boiler, having previously fixed the side knobs to each side of the boiler. That is, unless anyone knows a better . Regards, Brian.
  21. Hi Jeff, Apologies, I was speaking out of the wrong orifice (again) in my earlier post about the capacitor being in series. It is actually wired across the feed (positive) and Return (negative) 12 v supply to the signal, see below. Hopefully you can read the print on the side of the capacitor which gives its size and max voltage rating. The "near" vertical lines can be ignored being the ruled lines of the notepaper I used as a background (this gubbins hangs underneath the baseboard which is a very dark place ). Here is a short dodgy phone video showing the signal in action. If you turn the volume up you can hear the mechanism which is quite noticeable in my 10.5 x 7.5 foot shed, maybe not so noticeable in your bunker. Regards, Brian.
  22. Hi Jeff, Love those panoramas. Your work, not only passes close scrutiny but also looks superb at "normal viewing distances". I had to take a second look at the Kirby Stephen pic thinking it was one of your layout (I tend to speed read threads, searching for interesting pics before reading the corresponding words - sad or what?). The thing that clinched it as prototype pic to me was the carpark full of cars. Edit those out and I would really struggle to tell the difference. On the subject of Dapol signals, I bought one to use to control trains leaving my colliery (the main line is controlled by colour light signals). I duly installed it, skimming over the instructions as I do and about two weeks later it failed and I sent it back. When the replacement arrived, I thought I better fully read and digest the instructions. It said you had to use a "smoothed" dc input which I had previously assumed the accessories output on my controller was. In fact it wasn't. After some research I found that if you wired a capacitor of a certain size in parallel to the positive feed then this provided the necessary smoothing. So I duly wired one in and I have had no problems ever since (2 years, I think). Hope this helps. Regards, Brian.
  23. ...as was a certain Mr Hamilton
  24. The new safety valves arrived today so I have been pouring over my Yeadon's to try and work out exactly where to fit them, the Railway Modeller plan sheds no light as it features the Ramsbottom type. I've also plumped for an actual prototype and discovered that I need to add a small square feature to the cab front immediately behind the safety valves - see sketch below. The single whistle for the cab roof and new smoke box door dart (the kit dart is entombed in flash) have also been ordered. I have also tracked down an intermittent shorting site which was causing the loco to stop/start, this being one of the driving wheel coupling rod pins catching the footplate, so a bit more judicious filing of said footplate to give more clearance will be required. Regards, Brian.
