  1. Good series by Dan Gryder called Probable Cause, this is just one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Gq_9I6YnNM&list=RDCMUCJHAQ9u9jYutXJQUmzxC-Dw&index=1
  2. Will Dapol make another batch of 122s in 0 gauge?
  3. Some interesting stuff on a B-26 in current issue of Aeroplane magazine. An outfit called Aero Trader who mainly restores B-25s also had many rarities passing through their hangar in Chino. One was a very early B-26 Marauder serial no.40-1464 belonging to Kermit Weeks. This very rare survivor was one of three that from the 28th Bomb Group that all force landed in British Columbia on the same day in January 1942 after running low on fuel. Aero Trader spent 6,000 man hours on it, not really restoring it but sorting out propeller problems, hydraulic issues etc. They didnt rate it as being very good apart from its looks. If you had an engine failure on take off and the gear was down you couldnt fly out of it.
  4. Latest videos of both exterior and interior of the aircraft and progress to date, 112 spark plugs at £23 a pop!!
  5. Latest on the Ever Given makes interesting reading on a little of what its carrying. https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2021/jun/11/ever-given-remains-grounded-in-egypt-as-compensation-battle-rages

  7. He lived in a flat with a family who had a baby and they were made homeless. We think he had things thrown at him as he was very jumpy if you raised your arms, he hadnt seen a vet for many years and never had any flea treatment. There was no fur on his tail and hind quarters because of this, his eyes were bloodshot, teeth had calculus on them and he had cat flu. Blue Cross kept him for six weeks before we were allowed to take him home, he was just over 3kg then now he is a steady 4.8kg. He loves being near or on you, i am working on my garden railway today and he loves crawling out of the tunnels at the ends of the sheds.
  8. Here is Teddy (Hercules) earlier with his salt and pepper whiskers. I showed him a Youtube video of the two GB Railfreight 50s climbing Hemerdon but he yawned and went back to sleep!
  9. Pretty poorly when we got him very thin from Blue Cross. We wanted a young ginger tom because our adopted son has aspergers and ocd and is off the scale atm and having another cat would give us something to take our mind off the issues. When we went there they only had a ten year old long hair, we have always had short haired cats but as soon as we saw him it was an instant bond. He has no favorites, any lap will do. He prefers my shoulders plus my wife is quite small, only issue being sharp claws! Here he is March 2020 at Blue Cross.
  10. No our rescue cat Teddy real name Hercules doesnt like tap water, here he is keeping me warm, and a couple chilling out!
  11. I dont like that when the panel shop boys have done their stuff, they load the car up with body filler or lob it up as we used to say then sand down for this perfect, glass smooth finish. It isnt very pleasant stuff polyester body filler, i generally used a mask but lots didnt and i often wonder if they made it to old age. The same using the then new 2 pack acrylic paint full of isocyanate, a deadly combination.

  13. Lovely there, my parents lived in Coverack, my mum was born there and we used to visit every few months from the early fifties. We used to get the train from Gwinear Road to Helston, they were happy days.

  15. Iranian's Navy ship Kharg has sunk, seems a bit suspicious? https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#inbox/FMfcgzGkXdCRVFzzNRzXgcvfVDvCSbCP
  16. I would say almost every day now there is a campervan on fire in this area and probably everywhere else and not just VW ones. Some folk are just ignorant when it comes to doing maintenance work as long as it looks ok and is legal. Plus most of the larger jobbies have a grp or some form of plastic body, removable roof section etc with ageing wiring etc. Did Vauxhall finally sort out the Zafira fire issues as they dont seem to pop up these days but i remember reading somewhere that other Vauxhalls can be prone to spotaneous combustion!
  17. Good question, would have thought this fellas pride and joy was pretty faultless but this happened none the less. https://www.vdubxs.com/protecting-a-vintage-vw-camper-from-your-worst-nightmare-an-engine-fire/
  18. It seems that VW campervans catch fire quite often usually in the engine compartment, not some i knew about till i googled it. There was one last week up on Dartmoor which took a square kilometer of gorse with it which took tens hours to control. The van was totally destroyed. Some owners now have a fire suppression system fitted to combat this.
  19. Probably not all piston engined but hey ho!
  20. Wonderful, could only be Russian, not as noisy as the TU 95 but not far off!
