  1. This will be a total other way of creating a diorama. But I think that my experience with the building of my other diorama's can help me.
  2. Some days ago, a received my order from “In the Greenwood”. Some laser cut products to create a Christmas diorama for my wife. Of coarse I tried to give it a place between my Northall diorama’s. The diorama is situated in High Street. The Northall Society helped me out to find some more information. We are going back in time. Prior’s tailor shop is established in the beginning of the Edwardian times, when the shop and terraced houses were built. I have bought the following items: A kit with two terraced houses, a kit with a corner shop, some sheets of with cobble stones, pavement. My first impression is that these are nice kits that can give a nice diorama. I did choice for these kits because the will the make the finished diorama less delicate than card models. I have already done some research how to approach the kits. The diorama will get some additional features: some figures from the Andrew Stadden range, a Hansom cab from Langley and a streetlamp from Gaugemaster. When the temperature is going down I can start to model. Until next time. Kind regards, Job
  3. Lovely models. Can you give some more information how you create your ghost signs.
  4. Lovely entry. I really like these horse & cart entries, with some lovey yard pictures and a lot of information. Inspiring me to get started with my own kit.
  5. Lovely scene. The coal side is another eyecatcher on your, in my opinion, great layout.
  6. I like your approach on this horse drawn cart, especially the driver. Gives me some ideas about the Hansom Cab of Langley I have to model. The result is very good. Love to see them on one of your Farthing scenes.
  7. Love the picture of your farm scene. May add one suggestion: place some weed along the wall next to the door. Looking forward to your effort in building the shipping crates.
  8. Thanks Mikkel. I agree with you that Sam ha done a great job. At the moment very busy with my work. Thanks for your nice description. I grew up also in the 1950's and early 1960's. In the Netherlands you also could play on the street, although the street where our house was situated was already to busy. Sometimes we took a note book and wrote down the auto that passed by. Thanks Mike. Adding a "ghost sign" to your layout will give it an extra viewing point.
  9. Thanks, the article gives a good impression of the way I work on my diorama's.

    Ghost Signs

Today I got an email from Ghost Signs. I follow his website, Facebook page and blog for a while now. Some time ago he asked for some modelled signs and I send him some picture of Nice Street. He asked me to write something about it. Now he wrote an article about Nice Street featuring some ghost and shop signs I used. I’m very pleased with the way he wrote about my modelling. Never thought my modelling would be published outside the RMweb. You can find the article here: http://www.ghostsigns.co.uk/2018/06/the-dioramas-of-northall-by-job-weessies.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+ghostsigns+%28Ghostsigns%29 Kind regards, Job

    Coal!

Adding the coal just there give the layaout a little bit of extra depth. Looking forward to see a coal wagon in the siding.
  12. Thanks for this amazing entry. Must try out it myself with some figures in the future to realise some realistic delivery scenes.
  13. I used a reference picture for the shops. On the picture the chimney's where placed in this position. Because it was a 1959 picture I can not explain the reason for this.
  14. This one of my favourite layouts. Love the atmosphere you have created.
  15. I agree about the sign. Arthur will leave Northall for his next deliveries. There ars some nice villages around Northall, which are served by British Railways.
  16. I have finally finished my diorama of Station Road I have added a Reliant van. The van got some weathering for a better appearance. I used paint from several model paint suppliers. This time I uploaded a picture of the diorama with the visual underground. Then I saw that a piece of brickwork of a chimney was lose. I repaired that immediately. I also took a picture of the diorama with my British Railway delivery van. I will use these pictures for my delivery story of Arthur Page. Because this diorama is for my grand daughter it becomes a different finish. With a friend of mine, who is a picture frame maker, we made a wooden frame for the diorama. It will also have a glass cover. I made the picture without that. I hope you like the result. Kind regards, Job
  17. I have just received some Edwardian figures from Andrew Stadden.
  18. Loved the movie. Adding people makes the trains to Sproston more alive. I like that.
  19. Excellent entry. With some useful information for me. Again some nice details for your Farthing diorama's.
