  1. Hi John, The layout isn't on RMWeb I'm afraid, although there is coverage on the Gauge O Guild website and YouTube. Search for SR7mm Group on YouTube. Ian
  2. After many requests from customers, MOK is pleased to announce the re-introduction of the rebuilt Merchant Navy class locomotive. Featuring a single piece cast firebox/boiler assembly and updated etches for both the locomotive and tender, as well as cast brass and nickel-silver parts, this will make a highly detailed and accurate model of this imposing prototype. Price will be £850, plus carriage at cost, including choice of 5000 or 6000 gallon tender. The price reflects the very high cost of one of the major components in the kit. Because of the short term production capability of one of the suppliers, it means we have to act immediately to secure this final production run, and as such, numbers will be limited, after which, no more will be available. Because of these peculiar circumstances a deposit of £100 will secure an order for one of these kits which will be refundable should interest in the project fail to meet the minimum commercial quantity of 50. We will be working hard to have the kits available in time for Guildex in September at Stafford. I know many of you have already been in contact previously. but the changing environment in which we find ourselves since the project was first announced means that you may have been obliged to reconsider, which we fully understand. We will very much appreciate your immediate response to the announcement in order to stand a chance of meeting the Stafford deadline For further details, contact Dave Sharp at sales@modernoutline.co.uk or 01522 531861 or 07785706065. http://www.modernoutline.co.uk/
  3. Just going back to the questions posed by the OP, and a couple of others on here, if you have the skills to build points and crossings in the first place to 32mm gauge, then there is no real leap in going to 31.5mm through the crossing vee. The discussion has been had with members of the group I am associated with and the only items which have shown any problems were RTR stock from Heljan and Bachman, before they adjusted their wheelsets to conform to a recognised standard. 31.5mm gauge will improve running no end, and I can attest to the suitability of said roller gauges from Debs. Ian
  4. Massive thumbs up from me. Great workmanship deserving of a modern well though out and designed kit. Ian
  5. London Road Models produce the LYR 2-4-2T's, two kits which cover all the variants. I've built four of them in the past to P4, as well as one in O gauge which now resides in Australia. 10935 in P4 having a run out on Ferring last year. First time out of the box in over 5 years and ran first time. Ian
  6. I have been in touch with WIlliam Ascough as he intends to be at Guildex at Telford and he says it isn't a problem for me to examine the H16 kit before I decide to purchase or not. This is supposed to be from new artwork, and he is looking at introducing a G16 as well in the future. These could be updates of the Shedmaster kits which go together well.
  7. A Stanier Coronation in good condition should be able to wrest Mallards crown. In theory, 3300hp, free running, and double chimneys from 1939 onwards. However, is a coal of high enough calorific value available for such a test ? Don't forget though, that 6220 "Coronation" herself on the inaugral press run achieved 114mph before being reigned back approaching Crewe...and was still accelerating at this point.
  8. Why do people use "of" when it should be "have" ?

  9. I'm contemplating the ACE Kits LSWR H16 4-6-2T, but was also put off by comments from fellow modellers about their quality. However, surely they cannot be as bad as the old MegaKits ? I still have one for their S15 and it is truly dire. To even state it complies to the GOG standards was so wide of the mark it missed the barn, let alone the door !! I will most likely save up for the Gladiator S15 now instead.
  10. Oh my giddy aunt ! Truly amazing. It seems as if almost every superalative has been espoused in this thread. Brilliant workmanship Ron. Shame it isn't in 7mm though ;-) Keep up the great work. Ian
