    Called at a local garden centre yesterday. Horrified to se that they had their Christmas display well under way to completion 

    Crafty blighters have sited it so that one needs to pass through to get to the Cafe and toilets .

      I'm sure when I was younger you did not see Christmas stuff in the shops till December, possibly in November, unless I was too young to realise it then lol...

      Used to visit Holland once  a year for the Eurospoor in Utrecht,  also enjoying a visit to the Spoorwegmeuseum a few times.  Would usually stay at a guest house in Arnhem. Great cafes and bars in Amsterdam too.

      Like  Dagworth  I don't mind the ballasting.   I quite enjoy the track laying, wiring and ballast work, its when it comes to the general scenery that I usually struggle with.

    This afternoon I have just endured 73 hours (ish) in the Cinema being forced to watch Mama Mia 2. Whilst my wife (wisely) fell asleep I couldn’t help thinking that the 3 or 4 modelling projects (I have on the go) could have benefited enormously instead.
