  1. is going to have a clear out of my N gauge stuff..

  2. All ready to take Campbell Riverside to Enniskillen tomorrow. :)

  3. Hi, Here are a couple of pictures of Campbell Riverside being exhibited at the Midlands Model Railway exhibition in Portlaoise on 14th September. Was a very great and enjoyable day. Must give thanks to the lads at the Midlands Model Railway Club for giving me the chance to exhibit Campbell Riverside.
  4. Had a great day exhibiting Campbell Riverside at the Midlands exhibition in Portlaise today.

  5. Doing final checks to Campbell Riverside for this weekends exhibition in Portlaoise

  6. A bit more progress made. A curtain drape has also been made and fixed in place with Velcro which helps make the layout stand out. A little bit more testing before taking to first exhibition in 2 weeks time.
  7. Part 1 was advertised on RTE TV yesterday evening for €1.00/ £0.50p . Got part 1 today for €0.72 in Claremorris, looks good but not sure if I will get the whole series or not. ( mainly going to be too big for my 0 gauge project)..
  8. Great layout Neal, bet you and Callum must be well pleased with it. Have read your article in the August RM. Must have been quite a contrast after modelling in 0 scale.... Regards John
  9. Hi Pete, Thanks for your comments. I am not aware of Ford's 'River Rouge' car plant. The inspiration for my layout came about when I was a member of the Luton Model Railway Club, where one of the members had an 0 scale layout called 'Swansea Riverside' Mine is in HO scale and the track plan is based on this. www.lutonmodelrailwayclub.org.uk/swansea_riverside.htm Regards John
  10. I was in Claremorris this morning and had a bit of time to spare so thought I would have a quick look at the magazine section in Supervalu. They did not have the Jinty, but there sitting on the shelf was the Deltic. Did not look a bad example having read previous reports about it, but left it on the shelf as I have already have one waiting to be worked on.
  11. Here are a couple more pics showing the latest progress with Campbell Riverside. The baseboard edges have now been tidied up and a cassette fiddle yard has been built.
  12. One COT in Eason's Castlebar yesterday, Did not look too bad an example, but already have the Dapol/Airfix kit.
  13. Downsizing my collection, giving up with N gauge and G scale garden railways..

  14. I have made a bit more progress with this layout. Have installed a Lenz express net faceplate and a couple of sockets for the power bus and point motors, so will help make it easier for setting up and dismantling. Also leaves the DCC system free to use on other layouts. Next job is to get the baseboard edges cleaned and tidied up and fresh re-paint, fiddle yard board is now made and just need to make up some cassettes. Will try and get some pictures posted of the progress in the next few days.
  15. RE: Horsetan's post 1210 I remember K and S models very well, quite often popped into them as they were my nearest model shop about 20 mins drive away before I moved.
  16. Got layout out from loft yesterday afternoon, made temporary connection with DCC controller and test run a loco, all worked fine, and the Seep point motors had not seized up either. So next job a bit of general cleaning ,and try and work on the back scene, and tidy up the baseboard edges. Should keep me busy for a while.
  17. Going to list this layout for sale, look out for posting in Classifieds section in the next few days. Having gone through my stock list, I am going to keep hold of this layout for the time being, so first job is to get it out of storage, test run some loco's and then do a bit more scenic work, at least I will then have a layout that as they say is 'Finished, but not completed'
  18. Time to get serious and have a good sort out of my wide range of model railway items, will be listing surplus items in the Classifieds over the comming weeks.

  20. I quite agree with you Darrel, like you, I have mainly purchased some of the GBL loco's for practicing detailing and weathering skills on, also I have an airbrush which has been in the box for three years..........Still at least I will have some projects to work on over the winter.
  21. It will be interesting to see if the Deltic is derived from the Lima/Hornby Railroad version or if its going to be based on the Bachmann model.
