  4. bigP I forgot about the 'tail load' motor rails. We had turns on the 08's, or 'Jocko's' as we called them to shunt the vans platform 16, 17 if I remember but stand to be corrected. Regards John
  5. Hi Cornish trans jez, Hope you model of Euston works out well. Bit of info that may be of use ( apologies if its already been mentioned earlier) The DVT sets were mostly operated with the DVT/ first class at the London end of train, , for 1st passengers not having to walk so far, and also to facilitate any loco changes that took place, which quite often happened when I was a driver at Euston in the 90's. On occasions, mostly at weekends some sets could get turned in the Birmingham area which would have the loco London end and DVT country end. The sleeper services varied, but when it was Scotrail, and motor rail service ended the Glasgow/Edinburgh trains and the Inverness, Aberdeen & Fort William trains were combined and were loaded to 16 coaches. usually worked with class 87's . In early days of Privatisation, EWS supplied the loco's class 90's and worked by Virgin Trains drivers. Regards John
  6. Hi all, Here are some pics of the work in progress to the mods on Campbell Riverside, showing the work in progress. Since these pics were taken, all track has now been re-laid and the Gaugemaster auto shuttle been installed and tested. I have a little bit more work to do on the scenic side for 'view blocking' when the train's disappear through the back scene. Hope to be at Enniskillen on 19th Sept with Campbell Riverside. I hope to put some more pics of the completed work up in due course. Regards John
  7. I have started to make a few alterations to Campbell Riverside, The dummy single high level track has been lifted up and is in the process of being re-laid with an extension into the fiddle yard and also behind the back scene. This will then be operated by an auto shuttle module ( from Gaugemaster) and so that a loco will shuttle back and forth in addition to the shunting moves on the main layout. Also it will ensure that something is always running at exhibitions if I m on a break. Will try and post some pics soon of progress.

  16. Ordered two ESU Loksound decoders from Digitrains online last Thursday 29th, and they arrived today (Mon 2nd) here in Ireland. Very impressed and satisfied with the service. As tractor_37260 says ' Highly Recommended'.
  17. Here is one of my class 50 pcs. I have show this one first, 50017 at Nottingham, don't have exact details, but it was a Saturday in June or July 1983 or 84??. I believe the train was 13:40 Poole - Sheffield. This particular day a few of us were doing the 20's on the Skeggy, we were retuning home from Notts on an HST, as the train was pulling into Loughborough I just glimpsed a 50 on the down platform, We decided to 'bail out' leg it down the platform (we were in the TGS at London end on train). Running over the footbridge the station staff were whistling up for the 50 to depart (at this time still no idea where train was going or what it was. Anyway, we just made it as it was about to pull out. Window labels identified the train as a Poole - Sheffield service via Notts. So had 50017 haulage from Loughborough to Sheffield. Good old days.
  18. One area of improvement that I feel is needed on Campbell Riverside is some form of lighting pelmet. As I have seen mentioned in other forums, exhibition halls vary in the lighting available and also where you are located with your layout makes a big difference. Another plan I have in mind is to possibly make the single track high level road extend into the fiddle yard and through the back scène to the back of the layout, the idea being to have a loco or short train shuttling back and forth using a time delay. This would ensure that there is always something running on the layout, irrespective of any operation on the main scene.
  19. Hi all, Here are few pics of Campbell Riverside at last years exhibition in Enniskillen 20th September. Regards
