  1. Apologies if already posted! How about a Kettle, I mean Steam loco on MK3's.
  2. I joined on the 10th as well, maybe delayed in the post with the Royal mail strikes recently.
  3. I have signed up for the TT club about three weeks ago, just waiting for my stuff to come through now.
  4. Not sure about the unboxing, but thats a good idea, 😁, was thinking more of weekly installmaents of the layout construction.
  5. Can the 'whingers' be barred from posting on this thread, constructive critisism accepted? Its great that we can see some images on here of the products, espesially people like myself who cant get to any of the shows to see them in the flesh (plastic) Pesonally, I do hope that the TT:120 will be a sucsess and look foward to seeing some products in the near future. I already have some Peco track for an eventual layout. 😀. Regards, John
  6. I would too, maybe even risk doing a Youtube video. 😀
  7. Hi Les, if you can would you mind asking Simon if he can confirm if the production runs of the coaches will have body mounted kk couplings . Thanks, John.
  8. It looks like that some of the coaches have bogie fitted couplings rather than body mounted KK couplings. Did Simon mention anything about how the couplings are being fitted to the coaches, as when I emailed Hornby a couple of weeks ago I was told that they would be body mounted KK couplings. Thanks for sharing the pics. Regards, John
  9. I signed up for the TT:120 club membership about two weeks ago, however it does say allow up to 28 days for processing.
  10. From the Gaugemaster email I recived yesterday. I hvae just copied and pasted the section relevant to TT:120. Hope this is useful! "22nd October 2022 Welcome to this week's Main Lines, your one-stop-shop for all this week's news, announcements and anything you need to know about your favourite hobby. This week was a bit quieter on news, but that doesn't mean this issue isn't packed with things to read! To start with, we would like to take this opportunity to update you all on the status of our TT:120 range: Following Hornby’s news that they have developed an expansive range of TT:120 products which they intend to supply exclusively via their own website, it makes little or no commercial sense for us to develop a complimentary range of products in this scale. Gaugemaster are committed to supporting our crucial network of UK model and hobby retailers, who continue to be the backbone of our industry and an essential resource to the modelling community. It is difficult for us to see why UK dealers would want to stock a range of British TT products when nearly all the reward in this scale would be beyond their reach. We will continue to offer the large range of European TT products from brands such as Herpa, Noch, Piko, Preiser, Roco and Viessmann which have always been available for dealers to order, or to buy direct from ourselves. Instead, we will continue to work independently and with partner brands across the more established scales such as OO, N and O to develop widely available new products. We will share details of these with you over the coming weeks. Everyone here wishes our friends at Hornby all the very best of luck with their new venture and as modellers, we look forward to seeing their huge number of newly-announced TT:120 models emerge over the coming years. With the above taken in, onto the rest of the issue!"
  11. There are the Parkside by Peco that could possibly be retooled to TT:120, If they did I would certinally by a few kits.
  12. It has been asked about the couplings espesially for the coaches if they are body or bogie mounted, so I emailed Hornby yesterday and had a response this morning. My intial email question, Hi, Could you please advise if at all possible, how the couplings are going to be fitted to the new range of TT 120 coaches? Will they be body mounted (which will be better for the close couplings to work) or fixed to the bogies as per the images on the Mk1 and Mk3 coaches? I look forward to your response and clarification in relation to this. Kind regards Hornbys reply, Hi there John, These will be Sprung Kinomatic Couplings which attach to the underside of the body/chassis, These will not be bogie mounted. Hope this helps! Kind Regards, Regards, John
  13. Hi, From what I can gather, I think Hornby, like Hattons are registered for VAT payment with certain EU countries. https://support.Hornby.com/hc/en-gb/articles/4403093130770-New-improved-and-easier-ordering-from-EU-countries Well I hope so anyway as I am interested in ordering some TT:120 items from them. Hope this helps. Regards, John
  14. Apologies if this has already been mentioned, just seen this on Faceache, I mean facebook, Railtec Transfers are planning to release transfers in TT 1:120. https://www.railtec-models.com/catalog.php?type=5&gauge=TT
  15. Hope its a single malt and not the blended design clever/railroad stuff. 😀
  16. There is a three page spread about Hornby TT in the November issue of Railway Modeller. It mentions that the Hornby track is code 80. If I go down the TT route I think I would probably use the Peco code 55 track.
  17. Your Hattons order should be ok, I have had quite a few orders to Ireland from Hattons, I have had five stopped for customs charges! What I did was contact hattons and they advised to pay the charges and email them the recipt and they would refund it. The last time I had an issue was back in May when Anpost (Irish Post) said they could not read/scan the label! When the package arrived all labelling was correct. With An Post if seems if an Item does not scan first time then they just assume that it is not labelled correctly.
  18. Hi, A lot of discussion and information in this thread regards buying to/from EU. Regards, John.
  19. Seems like all products in the 'Hornby' group have changed about supplying model shops. Earlier this month I treated myself to an Airfix kit from my 'local' model shop. When I got home I opened the kit and found some parts missing so I emailed Airfix about it and if they could supply the missing parts, this is their reply; Dear Sir Thank you for your email, Unfortunately i do not have this kit available. Please see place of purchase for refund/replacement, Sorry for any inconvenace this has caused. Thank you Regards Airfix spares I then contacted the model shop and they told me they would get a replacement kit for me to exchange which I was happy to wait for, however they emailed me today with the following; Hi John Sorry this has taken so long to sort it should of been sorted long ago. Airfix have now come back and said they have no kits in stock even though when i ordered you a replacement they said they had. The kit you got should of had x3 models in it which of the models are missing? If i can not sort the issue soon i think the best way is to refund the model. On looking at the Airfix website the product is available for me to order directly but they can not supply my model shop! https://uk.airfix.com/products/battle-britain-memorial-flight-a50182 We are often told to support our model shops, but if they can not get the products from the manufacturers it is not very good. I will be very reluctant to purchase any products in the Hornby range in future.
  20. I was also on that tour too, 56107 ex St. Pancras ( I joined the tour at Luton). Other locos involved with this tour were 45019 and 56020.
  21. Hi Keith, The ratio I have for the N scale container is 1:148. Regards, John
  22. Just for a bit of fun and I made a Scalescenes 20' container up in TT 1:120 scale just to see for myself what it would look like and If I want to 'dabble' in this scale. Left to right we have N, TT 1:120, H0 then 00. The origional kit was the Scalescens 00 product printed at 100% H0 printed at 87% TT 1:120 printed at 63% N printed at 51% Not the best of images, just a quick grab shot with my phone. Hope this is of interests.
  23. My 'Local' model shop is a two hour drive and a cross border trip. :) ...
  24. Upto and including the July issue all have been delivered within two weeks of publication date, however the August issue seems to have gone astray enroute to Ireland. Peco have informed me that they are gooing to send a replacement copy.
