  2. Hello Steven, yes here is a screen shot from one of our magazine ads: Probably not actually the clearest of pictures but you get the idea of the quality, it's still a really good standard of weathering, you get the buffer grease still and everything you expect. The reason we can offer it cheaper is because there are no specific details from the customer it is able to pass through the workshop faster so we can pass on that saving to our customers.
  3. We offer three levels of weathering:- VALUE is a light to medium weathering, or lighter if more historically accurate, typically using two colours. STANDARD you can choose from light, medium or heavy weathering using more colours and showing more detail than value weathering. DELUXE uses various techniques and as many colours as necessary to interpret dirt, rust, grime, soot, water, limescale, oil deposits and much more. Pictures can be supplied to guide our technicians to your exact specification. OO & N Gauge O Gauge Hope this helps

  6. Brand New TMC Website We launched a brand new website two weeks ago, and we just wanted to let you know some of the key features. Most notable is the ability to take pre-orders and the display of arrival dates (where available) of these forthcoming releases. 1. Sending your models to TMC for customisation We've completely rewritten the rulebook on customisation! The process is now completely streamlined and it's as easy as 1.2.3. Select what you're sending Follow the instructions on the listing to build our specification Then just send us your models! 2. Pre-Orders Our new website now lets you pre-order all forthcoming releases at discount prices! With estimated arrival times on all out of stock listings, meaning an order from TMC has never been easier. We will never over sell on pre-orders, it will be removed from stock once we have met our supplier allocation, meaning you won't be let down once the models become available. View our full pre-order policy here 3. Clearance Section We'll never put something into clearance unless it has at least 20% discount off RRP! We've added a small selection of products, but we intend to keep this growing every week! Many of the products in this section are now discontinued from the suppliers so this is your last chance to get your hands on them at bargain prices! N GAUGE: Shop Locomotives Shop Rolling Stock Shop Buildings Shop Vehicles OO GAUGE: Shop Locomotives Shop Rolling Stock Shop Buildings Shop Vehicles 4. Fresh and up to date We're working around the clock to keep the website up to date, and add ad much information as possible. You can now refine by era (time period), how many pins you require for DCC, and even view only pristine or only weathered products. Just expand the headings to the left of the page.

    TMC Limited Class 40

See our class 40's here: 32-482Z Bachmann OO/HO Scale Class 40 No. 233 'Empress of England' BR Blue Indicator Discs TMC Limited Edition 32-482ZSF Bachmann OO/HO Scale Class 40 No. 233 'Empress of England' BR Blue Indicator Discs DCC Sound Fitted TMC Limited Edition We'll be doing a 'proper' press release for this model soon, it is going to be released with and without sound. We've had this on order with Bachmann for quite some time, meaning it will be with us a lot sooner than if we'd announced it from the outset! We're expecting it mid 2020. Our brand new website doesn't take money up front, you still have to put your card details in to secure the order, but we won't take the payment. Full pre-order policy here: Pre-Order Policy. We're also doing a Heljan Class 25 in two tone green. It's quite a special model as it survived well into the mid 1970's; meaning it actually received a tops number in two tone green! See full description on our website.
  8. Hello Nathan, The evidence we have of 67250 show it to be a 50C [Selby] loco and the photograph we have of 67263 was taken whilst it was at 54A Durham. Although no final decisions have yet been taken I doubt we will alter these, but a shed plate will be one of the optional extras we will offer along with renumbering, weathering, sound fitting etc , so you can let us know which shed code you'd like when you place your order. Kind Regards, Alex
  9. Hello Everyone, they have docked at Bachmann and are being 'Processed' we could have them as early as Tuesday/Wednesday but we think the 20th will be worst case scenario. Very exciting and we will begin dispatching them as soon as possible. We have had a small snag with a couple of models, however. A couple of inaccuracies were spotted late on, on two of the models [38-856Z and 38-851Z]. As such these models have had to be completely remanufactured and will be on the next container and estimated arrival is the end of August into early September. Luckily this didn't effect whole range, as further delays would have been very frustrating. So all we can do is apologise on behalf of Bachmann, however we all agreed that their quality and accuracy outweighed the need to rush them or deliver an inferior product. If you've pre-ordered and not made payment yet then by all means contact us to do so, as orders that are paid for will most likely be dispatched first. Best regards, TMC
  10. We're just as frustrated, but we think that is the last time it will be moved and is now an accurate delivery date, fingers crossed!
  11. This is the first ever glimpse at one of TMC's weathering booths in action! Another day another model! This one, a 5 inch hopper wagon for us to apply our deluxe weathering to!
  12. Come and our visit stand at the The London Festival of Railway Modelling for information on our next NEW TOOLING TMC Exclusive. If you can't make it to the exhibition then keep an eye out on our website and newsletter for the big announcement on Saturday 24th March at 10am. We've had some good guesses so far: An N Gauge G5 A 20T Brake Van Does anyone have any other guesses? The First person as of this post to guess correctly will win a TMC Limited Edition pack of 4 Covhop wagons in our striking Ice Blue livery [38-500Z]. Only one guess per person, if you guess twice, only your first guess will be counted. No guesses after midnight on the 23rd March, the winner will be drawn on Saturday 24th March.
  13. Every model that is being produced for us is based on photographs backed up by written works on the G5, we found very few photographs from the era that you refer to. All the photos of NER livered locos we have which show the left side show the pump fitted to the front of the LH tank hence the reason the NER in service model is being produced as such. Kind regards,
  14. There were 2 types of push and pull apparatus fitted to some G5s. Those on North Eastern region had vacuum operated push pull fitted to RH side of loco and lost their Westinghouse pumps. Those on the Great Eastern were fitted with compressed air gear that retained their Westinghouse Pumps so you won't find any of the Great Eastern area locos with the vacuum operated push & pull gear on the RH side of the loco. A good example of why we had to use photographs as well as the written works when deciding which locos to model. Kind Regards,
  15. There is a Great Eastern Area loco included in our G5 models. No 67322 [35-257Z] first went to Stratford shed in August 1938 as no 2093 becoming 7322 in 1946 and 67322 in March 1951. It stayed at Stratford until July 1951 when it moved to Cambridge. Whilst at Stratford its duties would have included working both the Epping - Ongar and Palace Gates - Seven Sisters services. All the best,
  16. Regarding conversions of bunker types I'm afraid we will have to wait for EP samples before commenting on how the various types of bunker will be manufactured. However your question highlights an interesting point about the G5, our research showed in excess of 30 combinations of livery and detail differences. All the best,
  17. During our research we found quite a few photographs of 1882, later 7279 and finally 67279. Yeadons Register has 3 photographs all in its Stratford days, but you will also find photographs online on the Disused Stations website of 67279 at work on the Saffron Walden branch. One of the Yeadons photographs is taken in January 1939 which was the month it was transferred to Stratford. All the best, Alex
  18. We can't wait either! here is our order form if anyone would like to print off and post to us rather than email or place the order online. If nothing else, its a bit nicer to look at than a big wall of text.
  19. We are expecting them in 18 months time as this has already been in the pipeline for quite some time now. We're taking pre orders now, no deposit required. View the range by clicking here:
  20. Congratulations 'it's-er'! We can reveal the winner of our competition is user id: 'it's-er'. Congratulations on winning yourself a 32-859Z Bachmann OO Gauge 9F 92000 TMC Limited Edition. TMC EXCLUSIVE LNER CLASS G5 0-4-4T TMC have commissioned Bachmann to produce an OO scale model of the G5 which will have a Next 18 Decoder interface, fitted speaker and Firebox LEDs. DCC Fitted, Sound Fitted and weathered options will be available from TMC workshop. Dear All, The Model Centre ['TMC'] have commissioned Bachmann to produce an OO gauge model of the LNER G5 0-4-4T locomotive. Whilst TMC have previously commissioned new tooling rolling stock from Bachmann [Mark 1 Horse Box, Plate Wagon and Double Bolster Wagon] this will be our first exclusive newly tooled locomotive. Designed by Wilson Worsdell for the North Eastern Railway 110 of these locomotives were built between 1894 and 1901. The NER designated them as Class O, becoming Class G5 in LNER days. They served as passenger tank locomotives throughout the North Eastern Region lasting well into BR days. They could also be found on branch freight, station pilot and other duties. Some were transferred away from the North East in the 1930s, a small group migrating to the Great Eastern section at Stratford and then Cambridge. Another group was transferred to Scotland primarily for employment on pilot duties at Aberdeen and Inverurie Works, as well as at Keith and on the Banff branch. None of the class were preserved but The Class G5 Locomotive Co Ltd are well advanced with a new build locomotive. During their lifetime there were numerous detail alterations to the class. One of the most obvious alterations was the fitting of Push and Pull gear to a number of G5s during the 1930s. The first withdrawal of the class occurred in June 1948, but it was several years later before withdrawals gathered pace as DMUs took over many of the G5s traditional duties. A few managed to gain a Late Crest and at the beginning of December 1958 11 were still in service the last withdrawals being at the end of that month. Chris Yates proprietor of TMC comments, 'With 26 members of the class based at some time during their life at either Whitby, Pickering or Malton sheds they were no strangers to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway and consequently it seems a totally logical choice for us to commission this loco given that so many of them would have passed so close to the TMC premises at Hill Farm on Beck Hole Bank during their operating lives.' The model will have a Next 18 Decoder interface, fitted speaker and Firebox LEDs. In addition to the factory fitted DCC ready versions DCC Fitted, Sound Fitted and weathered options will be available from the TMC workshop. No fewer than 10 models of the G5 have been commissioned by TMC, each model having detail differences so no two models are the same. The differences include different boilers, bunkers, smokeboxes, smokebox doors, whistle positions, safety valves and other detail differences. One model in NER Lined Green will be the New Build G5. The Class G5 Locomotive Company Limited will receive £10 from the sale of each model of the new build, no 1759. Richard Maughan CEO of the The Class G5 Locomotive Company Limited commented,' We are delighted to assist TMC with this project; we want to bring back this lost North East legend and are already over two thirds of the way there, so to have a detailed OO gauge model of the G5 will be mutually beneficial to both organisations.' The price of the models will be determined closer to delivery. The project has been ongoing since March 2017 and is at the Detailed Research stage. The models to be produced will be as follows:
  21. I'd like to promise it will be this decade. All we can confirm is May... Jokes aside we can indeed confirm it will be May this year. Long awaited, but we think they are worth the wait. In fact we can't wait!

    Limited edition 66

Hello everyone, sorry for being a bit slow at noticing the confusion with the front end logo details. I'd just like to try and clarify a few things and explain why it has been done how it has been done. The reason the class 66 is being produced without the front end detail is down to a couple of reasons: We commissions the model from Bachmann over 2 years ago before the Class 66 ever had these front end logo details. If we changed our model to include these logos the model would got to the back of the queue and could be another year or two before it appears. If we added the logos to the model it could have added more than £15.00 to the RRP at this late stage. The locomotive has run with and without these logos, its easier to put these transfers on than take factory applied tempo printing off. It was never our intention to mislead people with the press release. When we talk about the London graphics here we were referring to the graphics on the side of the model, which is how the model is being manufactured. This press release was written before we decided to offer the additional front end logos for an additional £15.00. Sorry if this has mislead anyone. I hope this clears things up, by offering the front end logos we were trying to please our customers not infuriate them. We're actually doing these transfers at a our cost price so we do not profit from them. The price may go up after the model is launched so get your pre orders in now! The class 66 is currently 'on the water' and the Class 66's will dock in the next month or so at Bachmann and we will start to dispatch the pre orders. All the best, TMC
