  1. Here are the first 2 of our G5 liveried samples. We will start with 35-254Z loco number 67263. The G5’s are a complex loco with many detail variations, and in the early post war years a small number of non push pull fitted locos had their Westinghouse brakes removed. These engines therefore had neither Westinghouse equipment or Push Pull equipment. 67263 was one such loco and it received this modification whilst shedded at Durham. One photograph of it shows it at Durham on station pilot duty. It was one of the locos which survived into 1958 being withdrawn from Hull Botanic gardens in October 1958. https://tmc-direct.co.uk/35-254Z
  2. Good news.........The G5 livery samples have started to arrive and all should be here by the end of the month. The detailed checking process is underway and we will post photographs here over the next few weeks of each sample.
  3. Now you tell us! Haha we'll do some more then with the correct number :)
  4. We'll just leave this here... also @newbryfordthat's a cracking attempt! I hope you're pleased with it? We've done this twin pack for £150 instead of £200. If you want to send us wagons for Graffiti then it is £100 per large wagon so this twin pack to get them both graffitid would be £200 + Weathering if you want it weathering. https://www.themodelcentre.com/acc2646nac1tmc-g1 Cheers!
  5. Just to confirm livery samples shouldn't be too far away now and once they have been checked we will let you see them. For once no news really isn't bad news!
  6. Hi, just to confirm it is David Larkin's photo library we have access to for research and the wagon above is the wagon we were referring to. It appears to be in original condition when the photograph was taken that is Spindle Buffers, Oil Axle Boxes, Single door banger and pressed side door [model 38-926Z has all these features]. The pressed side doors don't appear in that many of the photographs we had access to but all those that do have this type of door are from Lot 2600 and B281549 was one of them. When photographed the wagon did carry the yellow triangle and the tare weight was 10-2. Hope this helps.
  7. The photo collection we have access to has not been published in full but individual photographs from the collection have appeared in several publications. We are not sure whether the two photographs we refer to have ever been published. The photographs we have access to were taken over a period from mid 1950's to mid 1970's so it is probable that any that were used in the Northumberland area had gone by early 1980's.
  8. Hi Pillar, They certainly did we have photographic evidence from Tees Yard and a photo of one labelled to work between Burradon Group Collieries & Stella Power Stations. There were not too many places on the network they didn't reach, during our research we found photographs from many parts of network, the wagons often bearing route wording many miles [often hundreds of miles] from where they were originally intended to work. Hope this helps.
  9. Hello Samuel We should be getting some of each, the consignment has been split so it should be okay to order a single and a double pack together. all the best!
  10. HOT OFF THE PRESS! We have just been advised that the first of our exclusive 24.5T Mineral Wagons will be arriving at the Bachmann warehouse in Barwell next week! It took us by surprise too, but what a pleasant surprise. In view of the short period between announcing our special pre-order price of £25.50 for a single pack and £50.95 for a double pack we will honor that price for both pre-orders and any wagons purchased in the 4 weeks following their arrival here at Beckhole which looks like it will be about 14th June. You can view the range by clicking here!
  11. Thank you for the positive comments, we too think they look superb. As has already been correctly identified the images on our website are from the two EP1 samples produced so do not actually represent a specific model. We have put them on our website because we thought people would like to see that real progress is being made. The next step will be for an EP2 to be produced and then a livery sample of each model. The 8 models being produced are all different in detail so at the stage we get liveried samples we will not only put them on our website but post them on here with details of the differences on each model. We can’t at this stage give you a date for that, but will post on here once we have more news.
  12. The wait is nearly over! We have received confirmation that these wagons are now in production and are likely to be with us a little earlier than the quarter 4 we originally expected, they will now be arriving in late July or August. It has been a long time since these wagons were first announced so to reward those who pre-ordered there is a special pre-order price of £25.50 for a single pack and £50.95 for a double pack. This price will apply to all pre-orders up to and including the day they arrive here at TMC in Beckhole when the price will rise to £29.95 for a single pack and £59.95 for a double pack. The models available are:- 38-925Z B280009/B280037 in BR grey livery with Spindle Buffers and Oil Axleboxes 38-926Z B282087N in BR grey livery with Yellow Triangle, Pressed Side Doors, Spindle Buffers and Oil Axleboxes 38-928Z B281982 in BR grey livery with Yellow Triangle, Pressed Side Doors, Spindle Buffers and Roller Bearings B281146 in BR grey livery with Yellow Triangle, Spindle Buffers and Roller Bearings 38-929Z B282891/B282904 in BR grey livery with Yellow Triangle, Oleo Buffers and Roller Bearings 38-930Z B282299 in BR grey livery with Yellow Triangle, Self-contained Buffers and roller Bearings 38-932Z B282217N in BR grey livery with Yellow Triangle, Coded COAL24 ½ , Self-contained Buffers and Roller Bearings 38-933Z B282827 in BR grey with Yellow Triangle, coded MEO, Oleo Buffers and Roller Bearings In addition to the pristine versions shown above we will also be offering weathered versions. Our artists have been busy and the photographs above show custom-deluxe weathered versions the pre-order price of which is £40.50 for a single wagon and £80.95 for a double pack, all versions of our weathering can be ordered via the TMC website. We will also be offering versions with screw-link couplings and real coal.
  13. Hello, I have added these back one. We're expecting more stock soon. https://www.themodelcentre.com/pwl3-dog-bone-pig-iron-loads-for-plate-wagons-approx-180-pcs-per-pack-weathered-crafted-by-tmc All the best,
  14. Hello, The photograph on which the artwork for DE250482 was based was taken in January 1970. The wagon was certainly well weather worn by this date so we believe it had been in this livery for some time. When photographed it was part of a rake of wagons all carrying the same livery; the wagons originating from LMS, LNER and BR diagrams. I hope this helps. All the best,
  15. Hello Phil, That is correct, the rest have pre-TOPS markings although it is clear from the dates of the photographs used to design the artwork that several of the other wagons being produced would or could have run in the TOPS era exactly as they are being produced. It appears that these wagons were not repainted very often and that it took years for TOPS codes to be applied. Hope this helps. All the best, TMC
  16. We are pleased to share with you CAD images for our forthcoming Bachmann G5 0-4-4T. There are still a few tweaks to these CAD images so are not final but are very close. All tooling combinations for the locos can be found on our website: www.themodelcentre.com 35-250Z 35-256Z This is without doubt the most complicated project TMC has ever been involved in, and whilst it is taking longer than originally anticipated we believe the end result will be worth the wait. The real loco had so many minor [and not so minor!] variations presenting challenges for everyone involved, hence why it has taken time to get to this stage. Examples of variations that will be tooled include:- Round or Triangular Cab Rear windows Coal rail, Cage or Hopper & Cage Bunkers Taper or Group Standard Buffers Forward or Rear Dome Boilers Ramsbottom or Ross Pop Safety Valves With or Without Vacuum Brakes Cab Roof or Cab Front Whistle Positions Smooth or Rivetted Smokebox Wrappers Different Smokebox Doors Wheel or Handle Smokebox Darts With or Without Push Pull Gear With or Without Westinghouse Pumps The list could have been longer but whilst tooling variants to give maximum flexibility are what we aimed for the final cost to the customer also has to be a consideration. Consequently a number of identity changes to what was originally announced have had to be made, and 2 locos will not be able to be tooled from the combinations available at this time. Apologies to our customers affected by the changes detailed below. Each of the variants to be offered will have a different combination of tooling. Item 35-250Z will now be produced as loco number 2093 with a Coal Rail Bunker Item 35-256Z will now be produced as loco number 67282 with a Hopper Bunker Item 35-259Z will now be produced as loco number 67261 with a Cage Bunker Unfortunately we have had to take the decision not to have 35-257Z & 35-258Z produced at this time. With research having been completed and CADs well underway, Engineering Prototypes are expected during 2021. As soon as we have further news to share we will of course do so. Thank you to those of you who have pre-ordered already and shown your support for this project.
  17. We have received the Engineering Prototypes for our forthcoming 24.5T Mineral wagon from Bachmann which show the combinations of standard doors, pressed doors, three types of buffers, two different door bangers and axleboxes. 38-933Z38-930Z38-932Z38-929Z38-928Z-A38-928Z-B38-926Z38-925Z The following wagons will be available and can now be ordered on TMC website :- 38-925Z Twin pack in BR grey livery with Spindle Buffers and Oil Axleboxes [B280009 & B280037] 38-926Z Single pack in BR grey livery with Pressed Side Doors, Spindle Buffers and Oil Axleboxes [B282087N] 38-928Z Twin pack in BR Grey livery with yellow triangle, Spindle Buffers and Roller Bearings. One wagon with standard doors [B281146] and one with Pressed Side Doors [B281982] 38-929Z Twin pack in BR grey livery with yellow triangle, Oleo Buffers and Roller bearings [B282904 & B282891] 38-930Z Single pack in BR grey livery with yellow triangle, Self-contained Buffers and Roller Bearings [B282299] 38-932Z Single pack in BR grey livery with yellow triangle, coded COAL 24 ½ , Self-contained Buffers and Roller Bearings [B282217N] 38-933Z Single pack in BR grey livery with yellow triangle, coded COAL 24 MEO, Oleo Buffers and Roller Bearings [B282827] We will show photographs of liveried pre-production samples on here once they become available and advise delivery date once confirmed. Background: 3,395 of these wagons were built between 1952 and 1962 at British Railways Shildon and Ashford works. A number of these wagons were originally allocated to dedicated traffic flows in block trains to power stations and steel works around the network but many of these wagons soon migrated to general traffic flows, often retaining their dedicated branding, so that they could be found in many parts of the country. They lasted into the TOPS era so are suitable for layouts covering a wide time span, final withdrawals coming in the 1980’s.
  18. Hello Chris, Our research showed that 41 Plate wagons were converted to Barrier Wagons in 1967 and lasted in operation until the early 1980’s. They were painted Olive Green despite not being part of the Departmental Wagon fleet and were, as far as we can ascertain not allocated to a specific working. They were used to act as general barrier wagons on inflammable or dangerous loads. The photograph used for the artwork of B931873 was taken at Hoo Junction. All the best,
  19. Hello, we have just chased this up with Accurascale and we are 100% going to be able to supply these orders for you. So do not panic. I will contact all of our pre-order customers now to confirm this. Sorry for the delay, something had gone wrong with our order, which is now sorted.
  20. Hello, I just wanted to give you another option if you are desperate for rail joiners, we do a pack of 36 code 100 rail joiners by Bachmann for £6.58 (https://www.themodelcentre.com/44499-Bachmann-oo-ho-scale-code-100-rail-joiners-fish-plates-x36) Also perhaps don't be too harsh on the company you quoted as selling joiners for over £10.00 as they are offering free postage, eBay is a strange place to do business and they take up to 15% in fees from the seller! All the best,
  21. Yes we do as long as it is pre-arranged. All the best,
