  1. Many thanks for the positive comment . . . I'll give it a go. John
  2. Thunderous silence still . . . no news about an update to TouchCab that I can see. Anyone know what is happening? The old version is still on the AppStore. Is it worth getting?
  3. That's definitely the sort of thing I had in mind!
  4. Now there's a blast from the past. One of my mates had that and I was very envious!
  5. Has anybody given any more thought to this . . . Charlie/Bif????
  6. Good to see a model shop growing rather than disappearing!
  7. The station at Reading is something of an improvement in many ways, but the transfer bridge is a cold draughty hole in the winter and, as has already been remarked, the escalators are poorly protected from the weather as are some areas of the platforms. One of the irritating aspects of the new station in my view is the poor sound quality of the PA announcements, which also frequently clash at adjacent platforms, making them totally inaudible and therefore useless. Whoever designed the waiting room at the West end of platform 7 with powered doors (which seem to stick open with monotonous regularity) arranged on the corner adjacent to each other so that freezing cold air pours into the area when both doors are open simultaneously should be made to stand there on a cold winter's day to understand the error they made with that piece of the design.
  8. Any more news on the update? There does not appear to be any new info on any of the web sources noted in Post 137.
  9. Just begun to get seriously to grips with my new ECoS 50200 and really looking forward to trying the new version TouchCab when it is released.
  10. Just bought an ECoS 50200 from them. Ordered it late on Thursday afternoon, was delivered yesterday morning by UPS. Excellent service over Easter!
  11. What could possibly go wrong? . . . plenty of "rats" around that area to chew things up!
  12. Never was a truer word spoken. I ran my own business successfully for over twenty years and in most of the companies that I worked with there were skilled, dedicated, hardworking staff, whereas in quite a few of the companies the "management" could not manage a drinking session in a brewery and relied heavily on the skill and experience of the staff to get them out of the brown stuff on a regular basis. To be fair, there were some good managers in some of the companies and this was reflected in the commercial success of those companies and a happy working environment.
  13. Include me in the "most people" group! That expression makes me cringe in the same way as that Americanism "Have a nice day!" that seems to be uttered at every opportunity with absolutely no sincerity.
  14. Sold some unwanted items to them a little while ago. Excellent to deal with, very fair price offered and prompt payment. Never been in the shop but have looked over their excellent stand at several exhibitions.
  15. Hi Ken, Apologies for the slow reply . . . F18 is free on the projects I have on my locos. Advice would be much appreciated! John
  16. Thanks . . . but how do you nominate the F-key, please? John
  17. Firstly you have to enable the coupling function on F15 - set INDEX CV's CV31=16 CV32=3 then set CV332 = 8 don't forget to reset both INDEX CV's to 0 before the next step, this is important ! Hi Ken, Very interesting, would love to try this! I understand the instructions, but would prefer to use something other than F15. Can you give an example of how to set up for other Functions, please? John
  18. I don't get to visit Brum very often, so I'm always interested to see these updates on the progress of the extension (along with quite a few other people, I suspect) . . . please keep them coming!
  19. A bit lumpy on both Mac and PC with different browsers in different locations (UK) and on different ISPs. Pages initially take ages to load and then moving to different pages becomes a little quicker. Something's not quite right as it usually goes really quickly on my Mac in Safari. Friend in France reports it quite slow to initially load pages on a PC with Windows 8/Firefox . . . he says it normally "flies". Update at 11.55: Friend in France now reports he cannot access the site. Getting various "server error" messages. Further update at 14.00: Now working again in France, but very slowly.
  20. Seriously hope this happens. The proposed location is really sensible in my view and, with the designer outlet to amuse SWMBO . . . can't fail to be a hit!
  21. iDraw is not bad if you don't want to get into Illustrator.
