  1. So that's 5,000 posts on here; can't work out if that's an achievement or actually quite sad...

It shows that you're a dedicated contributor... keeping an involvement with something that you feel strongly about and aiding others is what we're all about isn't it?

If I've helped others then I'm happy, but some of the gos on here, I do wonder why it's worth the hassle.

  2. I like that my posts can generate 'disagrees' - shame those disagreeing won't enter into debate in the threads though.

Don't know whether to agree or disagree!

  3. Life's very unfair sometimes. In the last couple days we've heard a couple friends could loose their baby and another friend's wife has been diagnosed with Lymphoma after a couple of years of being in remission from cancer. If you get home tonight and have a healthy wife/girlfriend/husband/boyfriend and healthy children, please appreciate how lucky you are.

James, you and your friends will be very much in people's thoughts and prayer. Your closing statement is very moving and brings the most important things in life to the fore of our hearts and minds. Thank you, mate.

Your comments are very thoughtful sadly my wife's friend's baby won't survive. Life is very unfair sometimes.

In railway terms, Donny is always Doncaster!

It was routed via the single line into Goole, passed on place 16 early then must have just pottered along! Sat at Goole for nearly twenty minutes awaiting his booked time - no fun when it's the last train of the night!

  7. The NRM seem to be dumbing down even more...

As have lots of museums... like the science museum in London now seemingly aimed at 8 year olds. Shame!

And don't mention the Glasgow transport museum, it's for five year olds.

Information notices about exhibits which tell you about it without actually revealing anything!

  8. Nearly twenty trains in an hour earlier - think that's pushing Absolute Block to its limits!

You speak it 'long hand'! So you have to ask, for example, "Is the down line clear for 1K12*?" (* Spoken as One Kilo One Two) and then the reply is "Yes the down line is clear for 1K12." Then the same for entering section and out of section. it can be more than an extra two hundred phone calls a shift on a week day for us!

At least it'll keep you awake! Don't know how you'll get the car washed with all those phonecalls though...

    2. James

      James
