  1. Hi Peter Nice having a chat with you at Colwyn MRC's show today. I think the layout's beauty. Don't forget to get in touch if you need a hand with anything. Cheers Dave

To be honest it was quite good. Ten layouts including O, OO, OO9 and N plus some static transport displays and a couple of traders and preservation groups. Nice friendly atmosphere plus a chance to catch up with a few people I've not seen for ages. In summary.... a nice day out.

  4. Don't PECO still make catch points?
  5. Hi Peter Look forward to seeing you at the Colwyn MRC show over the weekend. Dave
  6. Hmmm but it does last quite a while, unless of course you're building something like an aircraft hanger
  7. I think you can get Evergreen from most reasonably well stocked model shops (if you can find one!). Failing that, I've been able to get it from the usual mail order sources.
  8. Thanks Andy. I like the Evergreen range. Lots of quirky sections. The half round section makes really nice rainwater guttering Cheers
  9. Thank you. Must admit that my Flickr is a bit out of date at the moment. I get the most enjoyment out of weathering. Cheers
  10. Thanks for posting, Simon, great photos! I haven't been to RIAT since 1991 but it was a very good one as it included displays or flypasts by all the 'good guys' from the first Gulf War.
  11. Hi Andy Here are some examples of using the N scale car siding. All are work in progress and need to be finished. Hope this is of some help. Cheers
  12. Have you tried Evergreen N scale car siding? I think it makes great corrugated iron in N/2mm? I'll try and dig out some photos of mine to see what you think.
  13. I must admit that the same period also appeals to me for the very same reasons. It's a bit before my time but seeing films of the railways at that time is, I find, very inspiring. Looking forward to seeing more. Cheers
  14. I'll be following this with interest. Looking for various options around an urban/semi-urban terminus. This looks like an interesting option with the benefit of a local (ish) connection. Cheers
  15. Who'd have thought that 'grey' could be such an interesting colour? I'm not even going to think about bauxite!
  16. I've enjoyed reading this thread as I've been having the same debate with myself over layout, spurs, carriage sidings and whether to build in a cutting or on a viaduct. I must admit to having a soft spot for Saffron Street so I think I might be swaying towards the viaduct. Looking forward to seeing your layout develop.
  17. Watching 'Lemmy: The Movie'. What a legend!
