  1. This looks a very promising start, I shall join the small but vocal band that will hassle you for progress reports
  2. The GCR loading gauge in 1895 was 13' 5" high by 9' 3" wide as seen here - http://www.swithland-signal-works.co.uk/plans/27_CLEARANCE_DIAGRAM.jpg The Berne convention was established in 1912 and is 4,280 mm (14' 1") high by 3,150 mm (10' 4") - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loading_gauge#European_standards
  3. I don't recognise the name, was it a diesel-hydraulic?
  4. The coach has come together nicely, what have you based the roof detail on?
  5. Happy New Year Allan - Saw this and thought of you Georgian Designs for shop-fronts and door-cases, originally issued by I. & J. Taylor's Architectural Library, whose imprint is on the plates, between 1790-1794 https://archive.org/details/designsforshopfr00ijta
  6. A very good read even if I do not share your deviant southern ways
  7. Don't give up on a really good original idea, try reworking it into a different track plan.

  9. Top stuff, I hope we get part 2 soon
  10. I think you've nailed it, convincing large areas of grass land are very hard to get right.
  11. Think of the extra progress you'd make!
  12. It's lot easier to scan something small
  13. Very interesting, can we have a view from underneath please
  14. The speed at which you work puts us all to shame, a cracking looking loco
  15. Excellent, my era and and almost location
  16. Superb as always and really hoping I can get to the show to see it. Did the fence really curve like that at the tunnel top?
  17. It's one that you borrow when you're building a really big layout
  18. Keep going! We all need a shove now and again
  19. Eyeing up the babe waiting on the platform were we?
  20. I'll keep the updates coming, but the speed you work at, you'll have one before me. It would be worth canvassing the 2 chaps mentioned in post #13 as they have already produced their chassis
  21. I've had a quick look at my bookmarks and I can't find reference to the wearing properties, so I'll defer to you on this The accuracy is better though and I think that will help to make a working chassis. ± 0.025 - 0.05 mm for every 25.40 mm versus ± 0.15 mm, then ± 0.15 % of longest axis
