  1. http://www.flickr.com/photos/49864388@N06/8189934483/in/faves-90163850@N02/ A find on flickr, a good shot of two Dodge standard S & T crewbuses!
  2. Some pictures of the pair of crewbuses together, just need a terrier and a commando now, oh and a lottery win to pay for it all - merf - do you have any pics of either of these two? new side underslung lockers made and powder coated, at least they won`t fall off like the old rusty ones nearly did! New mudguards and stays as well This shows the tail lift platform painted and new board fitted, complete with logos. All I need now is a small sticker for the tail lift board " Gateshead WRD - Quality approved" - that might be a bit tricky to find! Next jobs are the rear roller shutter, new rear tyres ( gulp at £840!) and refurb rear wheels! Andy
  3. These are getting rare, always wanted a terrier, maybe you should buy it, paint it yellow, and find a curved roof crewbus body? maybe I should, but I am running out of space...
  4. Thank you I thought you might know! It really is time for a book on the subject! Might be a limited market though! Andy
  5. I found this on the web, http://www.motorstown.com/images/renault-commando-07.jpg The reg is similar to my D336 PHR crewbus, its yellow, and could be a railway (ex) vehicle? Any records merf of this one? Andy
  6. here is My favourite station, way back, a nice bedford Cf! and some class 115s, somewhere i have a destination blind box and blind for that one!
  7. Hi Ringo, maybe merf knows something about the bruff! The link for the railtrack renualt doesnt work, can you re post it please? The emergency services show sounds right up my street! was it trade or public? Andy
  8. Thanks Merf, that clears that one up, I never did any time at doncaster! One for ringo here: You just want one !
  9. and a nice shot of a freight rover 400, and a crane of some sort!
  10. Hi Merf, thats correct an VW LT crewcab type, dont see many of those!
  11. and here is another pic from flickr, this just oozes atmosphere, the freshly overhauled 50, the commer PB minibuses etc http://www.flickr.co...s-90163850@N02/ I am not sure what the tractors are for though....
  12. aah yes I remember, I knew them as cowie interleasing, we had a transit pick up for a while! Thank you for the answers! Great pics as well! Andy
  13. One from flickr above, a nice selection of Ital vans, plain HV vests, so must of been the mid eighties? Question is - the white lorry on the right, its a crewbus of some type, I reckon by the cab windows its a ford cargo, but what is it, whats the lettering on the side say? Were they ever hired in if BR didnt have enough? Andy
  14. That daft but I like it! Talking of daft, most of you must remember this: but was it preserved and still around? I remember seeing it at open days yonks ago! Andy
  15. oh and the yellow one found its way on to flickr, proof that I do use it! http://www.flickr.co...ool-987850@N22/
  16. Hi Ringo, The yellow one is very much going to be kept, this white one will donate its cooker, water heater and most of the cab fititngs. I am a tad retentive and it has to have the right bits in it! I am even bidding on ebay for a 1993 copy of the sun, to leave on the dash! There are some bruffs out there, i would just make random contact and ask to buy, you never know what the answer might be ! Andy
  17. I have attached some pictures of my new crewbus, D336 PHR. I Drove it back from crewe this week, and today and have a good look over it, and virtually filled a skip with the junk the last owner left in it! According to the note left on the sunvisor, it was with exeter signal gang from new until 1997, mostly driven by "Rob" who liked it - so ten years with BR then Amey. It then got sold to The band of the devon and cornwall constabulary in 1997, and gained a trailer and towbar. The in 2005 the police gifted it to THATCH - Teignbridge Humanitarian Aid to Chernobyl , paper work suggest it went to near there, that must have been tedious! After that it had a couple of camping type owners and didnt do much...... Over christmas I `ll try and get some pics of bothe of them together, but that will be a challenge!
  18. martin, its a standard length crew bus, 1987 leyland roadrunner chassis. Its currently white, but according to VRM was yellow, which would be right.. Merf I should be collecting it tuesday eve from crewe, will get some pics when its daylight. So far I know it went from BR to the Police, then as a first aid unit, then finally a sort of camper. I will keep the re railing one as its more unusual and interest me, besides, I have already spent a lot on it. The white one may be for spares, it has some of the right internal fittings that mine is missing. I may just swap some bits and sell it on, but if its good, it will be difficult not to restore it! Must have more self control .... Andy
  19. Hi Jo, Our sherpa was a freight rover 200 with the standard roof and no side doors, it was yellow and had network southeast branding from new, and was maintained in its later years by brian currie daf in Aylesbury. It got sold and we had a succession of hired vans upon privatisation , and eventually leased some transits with CR branding. The sherpa was abused to hell and was bullet proof right until the end! Old oak had another one E246 AMW, I think Merf said it went to ameys. Andy
  20. A question for Merf! I have just bought D336 PHR, a leyland roadrunner crewbus - do you have any records of it? Andy
  21. I remember taking our sherpa (E245 AMW) from old oak back to marylebone, with a 205 litre drum and a pallet of brake blocks, it was on the bumpstops, and i nearly Sh@@ myself when the back door popped open on the westway flyover, luckily nothing fell out!
  22. damn I could buy that, havent got room for another one, looks quite tidy too!
  23. Interesting, I wonder if the boards on the roof are toe boards, I.e. if the roof was used as working platform, or may be just to carry ladders and stuff and stop them falling off - thats the first picture I have seend of a D Series, despite hours googling until my eyes are sqaure! The one in the picture was last taxed in 2007, so its probably razor blades by now!
  24. I have always liked the D series, a bit before my time though - did the railway ever use that chassis as crew buses? I cant recall seeing any pics of them. Nice models though - your fleet must be massive by now!
  25. I bet the cornering was "interesting too" I have often thought it would be fun to take one of these down something like the bletchley oxford line, currently disused and not connected with bits of rail missing, would be fun! Andy
