  1. Did I read somewhere about a service using HST sets? Or did I dream that?
  2. How will Northern’s franchise problems affect the depot?
  3. I see now. There is a bag of extra detailing parts which looks to include brackets. No fitting instructions in the box, maybe on the pdf on the website, but having trouble connecting to that to have a look. I’m sure somebody with more info will clarify. I’m not really clued up on all the detail differences.
  4. here’s the other end. I’m not sure what brackets are missing?
  5. Hope they’ve got the clearances right! How long are the vehicles? OK for first radius curves?
  6. Good progress being made now on the Wigan end. Looks like there will be plenty lights to keep the neighbours awake! pic taken Easter Sunday, 1pm.
  7. I have been a few times recently for quick looks, not much has changed since the last reports on here, I think they are busy preparing the area for the storage sidings
  8. Finally caught up with the Haydock stone train last night. 60095 again, looking and sounding amazing. Video here:
  9. Hi Jim Sorry to hear of your loss, hope all are OK. For the past two days I have been trying to photograph this train. Went out yesterday to the road overbridge over the branch but it wasn't running. Went out today and stood with a small group of enthusiasts but the train had been diverted via Newton le Willows due to problems in the St Helens area. Saw it go past on the WCML in the distance but it headed to Springs Branch, presumably to run around as it was facing the wrong way. I waited for an hour then had to leave as I had a meeting to go to. The joys of railways eh? So no luck so far but will try again... Good to see the line in use again though, and that 60 does look smart! Photo from GBRF on Twitter. Keep your stories coming :-) All the best Pete
  10. A bit like seeing a rare bird in your garden?! (not my photo, used with permission) First train down here for 3 years (see page 1), and many years before that one.
  11. Thanks beast66606. Do you know if it was the new GBRF 60? Or a hired in one? Also was it a one off, or more to follow? Cheers Pete
  12. I have been informed by a local resident that a class 60 hauled stone train made the trip down the branch today. Looking at Realtime Trains, it seems there is another working this evening from GBRF Tuebrook sidings, maybe these are test/training runs? Anyway I'm off out to have a look in a minute, see if it makes an appearance. :-)
