Great work Chris.
Right, back to making Mark 1 door handles for me.

What I can't wrap my head around is why certain members find the need to repeatedly bash Dapol. It's their choice what models they make and how accurate they are.
I full accept that there are many errors with the tankers and I am grateful to those who have shared their extensive knowledge of the prototype.
However, rather than just saying ''I won't be buying them because x, y, and z are wrong with them'', we have descended into questioning Dapol's business plan and having a go at those who have made purchases. Neither of which are appropriate in my opinion.

Do we need some more of the kit doing?
Yes, please.
I actually did some modelling last night.

Perhaps Mike painted it on when they weren't looking Is this the ANTB answer to where's Wally, 'Discover the Dino'
Don
I thought we already had spot the rhino?
-
Sorry but it's to late to include dinosaurs . it's been done , North Devon layout Porth St John .
Right hand side near the signal box , eating a tree .
Well, I'll be.....
I've seen Porth St John twice and never noticed the dinosaur!

Crap on the tv tonight, I'm bored.
Yep. Too late to start any modelling now, so I've had to resort to doing the cricket club paperwork. *yawn*

Great photo's as always Jim.
Many thanks to 'your man down south'.

They look very nice and a quality product.More added cost to the kit though.
Yes, well despite only modelling 7mm for four years I've come to the conclusion that it's par for the course. Most brass kits, be they loco's, carriages, or wagons, usually require some upgrades.
However, in this instance the wrong castings have been supplied. So, perhaps Spams should be contacting Agenoria for the correct ones?
-
Is that some kind of prototype busby?
-
Yep, those tank fillers are definitely the wrong type. The ones you have were fitted to the earlier 57XX pannier tanks, looking at my newly acquired copy of The Pannier Papers No6 you'll be wanting the oval type.
Peter Roles does some very nice castings of these.

Has anyone spotted the Lima GNER Class 08 for £7,800?
I'd post a link but IE and the forum are still at loggerheads and won't let me paste.
I do like the part of the listing that says: GAUGE - OO 12 VOLT DC - WILL ALSO RUN ON HO GAUGE TRACK. That made me chuckle nearly as much as the price, decimal point in the wrong place me thinks.

Do people have no idea of time. It would not be so bad if the load was in era to livery.
Never knew tractors were painted GW grey either.

Where's the railway?
Don
It won't fit.
Two greenhouses, fishpond and a shed make a garden railway impossible . I've spent a long tome pondering and it just won't work without far too many lift out sections to allow access to everything.

Thanks Rob,
Personally, I'm a Pannier man, who has developed a fascination with the 14XXs. But 5541 does look very smart, having only been back in service for a few months. Maybe one day I'll build a Prairie to run on Inglebourne.
Here's one more for you Rob. A bit artsy fartsy with the sun and smoke.

Yes, it's a trick of the light / perspective thing - it is the drum for the handbrake.
Simon
Oh, so it is! Must look properly in the future.
-
The box behind the upper lamp bracket looks to be a preservation modification to.
Probably to protect the lamp bracket when the loco is coaled.
-
Unfortunately, over priced food it something you have to look out for everywhere. To some it is just an easy way to make an extra income.
What put me off visiting the NRM was that you can count the GWR locos on one hand. Had a great day at Didcot instead.

god its great to be back, I have spent a few days in North Yorkshire, and everything was okay until I visited the NRM, now who wants to hear me rant???
Go for it!
I nearly made the trip up there last year and it would be good to know I made the right decision not to go.

You know that shed would look good in Chocolate and Cream
Don
Or even dark stone and light stone.

There are much more "demanding" kits out there. ;-)

Apart from the buffers, the JLTRT wagon kits go together very easily. They are a very good place to start.
