  1. She's coming along very nicely. Keep up the good work.
  2. The primer finish is looking a lot better now George. Is that the bog standard Halfords primer you've used? I find that the Acid #8 etch primer they do gives a very good finish, but it's nearly twice the price of the standard stuff. A cracking little loco.
  3. I stopped buying Nightwish albums after hearing Dark Passion Play. What on earth they were thinking replacing Tarja with a pop singer I'll never know. But now I see that she's left and they have former After Forever vocalist Floor Jansen filling in for the rest of the Imaginaerium tour. I'm yet to find a video on You Tube with decent sound, but I think she may be a good fit.
  4. I was never going to find that. Now that I did find. It's amazing that such an old vehicle will be allowed to run on Network Rail metals.
  5. This is off topic but I can't find anywhere else to post. I just saw the Great Western Society's Steam Railmotor No.93. trundling down the M4 on the back of a low loader. It's rather nice of them to give her a holiday in Cornwall.
  6. is considering treating himself to a ticket for Top Gear Live

      How hard can it be?

  7. Oh yes! The shape is magnificent. They certainly encapsulate the railways at thier peak. The Mallard 75 celebrations next year look very exciting. The prospect of being able to see all six surviving A4s will probably be the boot up the ass to finally get me up to the NRM. I was lucky enough to get to see Mallard and others when the NRM On Tour visited Swindon Works before it became a shopping centre. But that was a long time ago!
  8. Crikey. Didcot overload! .............Only kidding. You've made a nice start on little 1361. The HO chassis has saved you a lot of work. I'm looking forward to seeing your progress with the body. Dispite being a GWR man I do have a soft spot for the A4s. I missed Bittern when she went through Chippenham a few weeks ago. Despite the loading bay at work backing on to the station I know from past experience that I can't run from the front of the shop in the time between hearing an approaching loco and it going through the station!
  9. Is it really it expemsive/difficult to post to Brazil?
  10. Has just returned from the village beer and sausage festival. Oh crikey!

I think we need to know which village has this great combo!

  11. It looks great. Excellent work indeed. You could try posting in the wanted transfer thread, here: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/48273-wanted-transfers/ Someone may have the S&DJR section of the Midland sheet sitting around unwanted..
  12. Good choice. Although now I have Beyond The Pale stuck in my haed!
  13. RMweb and a bottle of King Goblin. Perfect!

As a real ale man I am finding only having light beers here in Brazil a trial.

I'd better not tell you that we have a beer and sausage festival in the village next weekend.

  14. As one of my closest friends still has my copy of Netherworlds End, I've been listening to India by Xandria. You've gotta love that key change.
  15. just built a Slaters PO open. A very nice way to spend an evening.

Ah yes, I've seen them and they do look good. But there won't be much to see once it's full of coal!

  16. I thought you might know Brian. It's not too long to wait.
  17. I've just been looking on the Tower Models website and I see that they've updated the Heljan section of their site. They now have individual sections for Heljan loco's and coaches. But there's a third section: Heljan Wagons **NEW Section coming 7th September ** I'm sure we'll find out what's happening at Telford this weekend, but being rather curious I was wondering if anyone on here has any inkling what's coming?
  18. It's fantastic that you give us a sneak peak inside the Didcot workshop. You spoil us! I remember reading about the building of Tornado and that nowadays there's a lot of electrical gubbins required to allow steam loco's to run on the national rail network. They must give you some headaches. Brilliant! That just made my day.
  19. I bet it's not DCC ready! Great post Castle.
  20. Thanks Rob. I've built my Fruit D as the later BR version (the kit includes parts to make GWR and BR variants). The bar on the end is the electric light switch. If you look closely you may be able to make out the battery box and dynamo too.
  21. That'll be these then. 4mm: https://www.eileensemporium.com/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.browse&category_id=286&Itemid=9 7mm: https://www.eileensemporium.com/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.browse&category_id=287&Itemid=9 (I really wish the folks at Eileen's would do away with the disappearing green glowing cursor.)
  22. Oh yes. It does take a while to bend them all to the correct length. My Connoisseur Toad had 18 to make. The kit that took me the longest to do all the hand rails on was the Slaters BR/LNER 20ton brake van.
  23. Oh the decadance! No such luxury with the Scorpio 7mm kit. Thanks for your kind words with regards to my wagons. I particularly enjoy building rolling stock and always have a few wagons at various stages of being built. I should be putting a few more blog entries up soon,
  24. Ah yes. I know what you mean about those curved end handrails, they take a fair bit of patience to get right. I've not done a Mica, but I think I did a good job on my Siphon G: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/blog/1151/entry-9961-7mm-scorpio-outside-framed-siphon-g/
  25. Evening Castle. Once I get my Toad finished I'll see if I can get around to putting some photo's up on my blog. It's a Connoisseur Models kit in etched brass, so there were lots of lovely handrails to make from brass wire. QI is certainly good modelling telly. Althought I've seen so many of the repeats on Dave I now know most of the answers!
