  1. Halifax. Beginning of June, only 5 weeks away. You will see lots of things that are new and wonderful, which you didn't know you needed. Don't go near the E&T stand early on! Mike
  2. I'm definitely attracting the wrong type of bird. Oh what wouldn't I give for to see a decent pair of tits. [/quote We have at least 2 pairs of Coal Tits. Despite a few viewings we don't have any takers for the nest box yet. Mike
  3. What about the ultimate North Eastern Railway locomotive? A Raven pacific, maybe even the Gresley modified version. Mike
  4. I was told the plates were cast, but before fitting Pakistan declared war on India. They were the first (and so far only) Commonwealth nation to go to war with another. That's why they were never fitted, probably in the same private collection now as "British Enterprise" and "Pegasus". Mike
  5. Was he wearing a Pickelhaube and doing an impersonation of Gert Frobe? Mike
  6. Just been playing catch up on this thread. I did the master for the pigs!!! Mike
  7. But it is a whole new skill set, and something new and exciting. The rewards and sense of satisfaction will be in proportion to the change in scale. Enjoy Mike
  8. C & L, and Slaters. Building the Maunsells was covered in an MRJ a couple of years ago, the GUV, PMV and Van B and C are excellent. Mike P.S. Big fan of Treneglos, you are going to do something inspirational in 7mm
  9. Perhaps the talented, fertile and ubiquitous Worsdell forever, could be persuaded to post some pics of his Tyneside layout "Fellburn"? Mike
  10. "Brand new in box, it has only been out once for a brief test run" "un-run and never remover from the box" Make up your mind. It can't be both... Mike
  11. Having lived near the old North Road works until a couple of years ago, you hear some stories. There are supposed to be numerous "Darlington" plates off the B17, and "British Enterprise" has also been seen. Bearing in mind that North Road used "Durham School" as a boot scraper, these 'Replicas' were regarded as little more than ornaments. Mike
  12. Martin, I thought you would be promoting the tin worm infested push-me-pull-you Imp!!! Are you still growing them in the garden? Mike
  13. He does put on a very good exhibition. Goathland in July. Mike
  14. Daren't show this to my Father-in -law in Lochgelly. He would be dancing naked in the street, modest only covered by his SNP party membership card....... Mike
  15. Don't forget the sweeping brush stuck shank end down in the headboard framing. A) to sweep the deck off, and B) more importantly to dip the fuel tank because the gauge doesn't work! Mike
  16. Too true. That chug-a-bug sound ranks up there with the drone of a Deltic or the whistle of a Class 40. B)
  17. Brian, you have made me feel very old, but happy. It's just how I remember any one of a dozen sheds and stabling points 30 years ago. Mike
  18. DVD's with footage include; Marsden Rail 4 Darlington Marsden Rail 17 North Durham Highways & By-Ways of North Eastern Steam (TVP) Power of the 9fs (TVP) B % R Vol36 Steam North of York Mike
