Has any more been done? I'm suffering withdrawal symptoms.
-
Interesting work, never fails to amaze me this model.
-
It just gets better and better.
I keep forgetting to look in now it's a blog though.
-
Looking great, I wish it was still a thread, not a blog.
-
Did YOU build that Railway? I have to say I have read allof the articles time and time again, my favourite being the one about putting the clock back, and the description of Danes' Crossing works. I even went as far as having PECO copy the articles I couldn't find, as they had no back numbers.
Brilliant, memorable, full of atmosphere...I run out of superlatives!
-
Brilliant. I look forward to more, as usual.
I remain determined to see this at some time.
-
The whole thing is just awe-inspiring.
I WILL make an effort to see it in real life once it's a bit further on. I'd love to see 45685 "Barfleur" in it's home shed.......
-
Sounds interesting. I take it you were lucky enough to go round this shed in steam days? As you know, it was on my, "I'd have loved to have gone round that one..."list.

Nice pics. I only visted Strasbourg once to do with railways, but got a guided tour round the shed.
It was there that I finished the tour opposite the station and my guide indicated I could make my way back to the station axcross a boarded crossing that crossed about 20 lines.
I asked if it would be OK, to which he replied, "Mais, vous avez des yeux? Vous pouvez regarder?"**
** "But, you have eyes? You can look, can't you?"
He seemed surprised I'd asked.

Amazing.
How is the turntable going on?
And how did they get locos into the little workshop at the rear?
What will you do about that?
-
Third wagon in was making me feel sick. I think it has one wheelset out of round?
-
So Hornby sell the locos, take any profit, but deny responsibility?
-
Paint job is lovely.
How did you do the lining?
-
I think the nameplates are a little low. In pictures of the deflectors, in close up, the BOTTOM of the plate would appear to be about 2/3 the way from the running plate to the handrail?
-
That's incredible. And there are THREE like that? Plus the workshop roof?
It's nice to see this blog again.
-
You didn't say if the paint ever filled the morse code holes?
if not, why not press in some milliput from behind, wait until it goes hard, the RE-score the lines on top, to remove any poking right through?
-
Takes me back.......My first ever Airfix kit was a Spitfire, followed by a Hurricane.
I saved for what seemed an age to get 7/6d for a Lancaster!

Great stuff, like reading one of the old "Boy's Own" type comics.
-
That's a nice effect.

Thanks, I asked since I've seen may REAL locos start WITHOUT blowing a horn, yet on models, EVERYONE obeys the rule and toots just before starting. It just doesn't sound right.
Where can one buy your chips, and what classes are covered, please? PM me if you don't want to say on here, thanks a lot.
Oh, and would any be suitable for 7mm?
-
I always think that black and white can overcome the sometimes odd mix of colours, the way lighting portrays colours, on our models.
I love that first shot........

Do your diesel sound cards make the characteristic ticking noise, and occasional whirring noise heard in parked diesels?
Also, do diesels NEED to hoot moving off? IS it automatic?
-
Pointy man! Pointy man! Pointy man!
-
I look at this for inspiration.
When I start Falcon, I'll have some very repetetive bits to make: EIGHT brake cylinders, and EIGHT sets of leaf springs, for example.
That pales beside 36 trusses, however........
Roughly track plan of diesel depot

Go on Google Maps, satellite view and enter "Landore".
If you zoom in, you'll see how a real diesel depot is laid out. I think if you did it as a mirror image it would fit your baseboards.
To make it fit, the fueling point, (the brown roof) could be two, or even one road, the maintenance shed,(the white roof) two roads.
