The bubbling plan will definitely be a part of Weston 2014.

In box me some details please.

Thanks Mike. All help appreciated. I have been told that there were 15 cars present in the car park all day. Only 4 exhibitors and 3 staff members had permission to leave cars on site, and 2 of those members of staff were not there at the end of day anyway! It seems we had some other exhibitors or traders who "forgot" to move! A shame, but lesson learnt for any future events!

I could have lent you some big engines
Thanks mate. I do have plenty of big engines, but layout will be a bit small for them unless I can get the second fiddle yard passable for Saturday so I can display it as a through station. It has been stuck in garage whilst the house has been on the market. I would quite like to run my weathered Bachmann Jubilees.

you cant be old technology, as for the roster you cant beat a 4F or an Ivatt tank/mogul as you can see from my blog I'm kind of into 4F's at the moment
Old technology??? I meant layout is DC!
Definitely using the Ivatt tank. Considering Ivatt 2MT and 4MT.

No it's old technology.
-
Still no decision on roster yet.

It's looking good Mark. Looking forward to seeing you next week.

Thanks Andy. Our track is to 2FS standards though so 'N gauge' is not quite correct. Much of the stock is modified proprietary 'N' scale stuff though. There are some 2mm scale items of stock, but it takes a bit longer to make a 6 coach train from etched kits than it does by rewheeling Farish items.
Apologies! Still a great layout!

Will pm you with all details.

Cheers Frank I will be in touch once I know the date of our next show.

I enjoyed seeing St Ruth at Burton on Sunday morning. It is one of the best N gauge layouts I have seen, and is always beautifully lit. I noticed that the model was not running as well as usual and you have my sympathy. It did not spoil my enjoyment of the layout though.

Glad you like it. For my first exhibition attempt I am quite pleased with it although there is a lot room for improvement.

Exhibition is in a little village in South Derbyshire, ot far from A50. We currently have 2 modern image layouts confirmed amongst the 17 and if I can fit them in there may be 2 or 3 more in the pipeline. I am hoping to get to 20 layouts this year.

Considering the number of different posts and topics about this magazine series I wonder how many people will be building the layout, or their variation of the layout. I would certainly be interested to see somewhere on this site devoted to people's experiences of this.

No sisters and no hidden motives that I have found yet. New blog update to follow soon.

Yes Glen Roy was set up and ready for action, and I was there BEFORE the 10 am start time, sorry but I had been up the cafe to buy my team breakfast as a thank you for all their hard work.
We all enjoyed the weekend and would like to thank Steve and his team for such a well organised event.

My comment was not a criticism of you and your team that your layout was not running. You and your team deserve a breakfast. My concern was for your layout and your stock when the public were allowed in early. That is an issue for the organisers to sort. In general I agree that the event was well organised and was thoroughly enjoyable.

1163 Whitehead was running up the Old Swanwick Colliery Branch.
I stand corrected Sam.

Hmm... I wonder how they got that Lancaster into the studio... ;-)
As it is supposed to be a film studio my guess is it was mocked up inside the building ;-)

Great photos, makes me look forward to my next visit even more. The Engine House balcony is my favourite location.
As a school teacher I am soon to break up for my summer break. Watch out for my similar preserved railway blog!!!

Excellent!

Looks good. The question is will the river bridge have a watering facility for Thomas???

What a nice story :-)
George seems like a nice guy - although I do wonder: Are those really just bee-keepers clothing, or is George in fact posted on earth to prepare the way for the Xuiri warrior tribe from the planet Saturn?
Well you never know! The figure does remind me of the photos of Apollo 11....perhaps he is actually "Buzz" Aldrin in disguise!!!
A good start!
