  1. Hyacinth Bucket might say: "Room for a pony!"
  2. Look out towards the Liverpool CLT as you berth at 12 quays: HMS Dragon (D35) is alongside........She`s stealthy (as in: she doesn`t look like a proper warship!) Don`t forget to wave to us as you pass the beach at New Brighton!
  3. I have noticed that the headline figure isn`t the full story: "traffic-shaping" (and they`re all at it; despite protestations to the contrary by some of the big players) especially at certain times of the day, can make things seem quite slow in reality. The interweb is a busy place with streaming and on-demand being on the up, `though such 'throttling' is (evidently) "only done to preserve the good browsing experience of the majority".
  4. Here is an important announcement: "I have a bun in the oven!" well actually, it`s a bun-loaf and a couple of loaves of zucchini-bread.
  5. Dumbing-down and cost-cutting rolled into one! More idiotic pantomime, than a quiz; complete with a 'know-all' baddy with his rolling eyes, faux petulance......Mr. Vine even providing the 'hissing'. ......."Simply Ghastly!"
  6. I recently had a very interesting discussion with a learned-friend, concerning the devastating consequences of two successive world wars on human genetics. The recruitment of millions of young men (from many Continents), selected specifically for the best of intelligence, dexterity, aptitude, eysight, physical stature and health; only for most of them to die before they had a chance to pass on their genetic 'excellence'; means that many of we that were born since, effectively inherited second class 'excused from military service' (some might say 'reject') genes......I found the greater-concept quite thought provoking and more than a little sobering.
  7. Shingles!..............Oh gosh, Dave; every sympathy!
  8. I wondered what the source of my Barbour`s moleskin pockets looked like!
  9. How easily we were amused!
  10. Rupert D. Bear was so cool...........even TIna Turner would`ve done much better in the charts had it been "Nutwood City Limits"
  11. ........by coincidence; so was Jackie Lee. http://youtu.be/CaC2K34SLhc
  12. My eyes don`t seem to be working properly this morning, things seem blurrier (is that a real word?) .........a 2nd. cup of coffee might help. Beach walkies to follow............. Wishing you all, a smashing day.
  13. On the C & L (3 bolt chairs) that I use, the chairs are 'handed'; mixed on each sprue......`makes for a little more work to sort them.
  14. I`m giving up something precious for Lent............. ............abstinence!
  15. With that post; you have my stamp of approval! But do remember: "philately will get you nowhere!"
  16. My car is typically French........... ..........It doesn`t care what I think of it!
  17. Shrivener`s eve!............so it`s buttermilk and maple pancakes for supper this evening......just hope they`re not going to taste as crêpe as last time I made them.
  18. Yes Pete, although there is some 4 mm. scale application/custom with regards to slip-gauges.........and the soon to be released DebSquare is designed for use modelling in any scale/gauge.
  19. Off to the Post Orifice this morning; some track-gauges going off to the U.S...........Specialty Gauge Products has gone global!
  20. Beautiful sunny day here at Collie Towers..........Spring seems to have sprung! Seen whilst on our beach-walkies this morning: The Grimaldi LInes "Grande Italia" car carrier, arriving at Liverpool`s Royal Seaforth dock, I think she`s come to export a cargo of new Range Rovers. The Grande Italia`s shipping line name always amuses me, for I mostly associate the name 'Grimaldi' with the clown-troupe: esp. the ones with the brightly coloured car with eccentric wheels and the doors that dropped-off when slammed! I wonder does the Port Pilot get met at the top of the ladder with a custard pie in the face when boarding at the Liverpool Bar?..........Perhaps the crew also sport red-noses and comedically-oversized red shoes!
  21. Phenomenal tidal range on our beach today: 10.1 metres above datum (high) - 0.2 metres above datum (low)...........somewhere inbetween, we`ll try and squeeze our walkies. Have a good day, all!
  22. Oh no!...........Schotty; get well soonest, big-Lad.
  23. I really like the realism of your work with the corrugated sheeting on the River Don Works building.
  24. The Rainhill show was lovely: very friendly, interesting and easy to get to. A nice day out, only let down on the return journey by a shockingly overcrowded Pacer 142 (2 car set) on the Stalybridge to Liverpool Lime St. route.....there must`ve been five times the safe, passenger allowance wedged onto that set; t`was like a scene from a Tokyo commuter train! No wonder the electrification of that line is long overdue!
