  1. If you click on this thread and scroll down you will see a couple of pics of the Blue Falsk wagon (posted with permission by Big Jim on this Forum) Cheers Trailrage
  2. I have the Blue Flask Wagon. Didn't carry that Livery for very long if I remember and was the only one . Lucky to get one as I was a member of the Bachmann Collectors Club at the time. Never saw the real thing though. looked really smart, Just remembered I have a pack of 4 DC Kits PFA to build as well if I can find the dam things! I ummed and Arred over the HNRC one as I was lucky enough to see 20311 & 20314 along with 20118 & 20132 at Tilehurst with my little boy (when I was Furloughed for 5 months very difficult to keep a 6 year old mind occupied for 6 months) when it was doing Scap stock moves with GW MK3 coaches. I have an old non working Wrenn 20 that I have started modifying to fit a Lima 20 Chassis so Might do the same conversion and make a pair for him to use. He already has all my Lima Models so sure I may be able to spare one. May even get a couple of the newer Hornby 33 models to repaint DRS for him. Cheers Trailrage
  3. Yeah they really are. I'd made a couple of Genesis kits and one S Kits version but was never really happy with them. Only have the Bachman Models now I'll resurrect the S Kits one for my little man when I can get some more Bogies for it. Cheers Trailrage
  4. I have several flask wagons and a few ideas I may get round to one day! lol Cheers Trailrage
  5. So basically what your saying is that for instance IF I had an Arthritic condition or Nerve damage in my hands and I wasn't able to "remove, shorten and refit" that I should not have Model Electric Trains? I suffer with a compressed Nerve in my spine so does that mean I shouldn't ride my BIke or Drive my Car? Or maybe because I can't cook I shouldn't eat food? Or maybe because I suffer from Dyslexia, I shouldn't try Writing? What utter rubbish. Quotes like that are completely unnecessary and are offensive as not everyone has the ability to do such things but would like to. Yes as "Modellers" some of us do have the ability to fix things ourselves and to be honest it feels like we take this ability for granted. I've lost count the amount of times I have fixed a Bike for someone as they couldn't but I would never say to them " you shouldn't be riding it if you cant fix it yourself" This kind of attitude or argument serves no purpose. My 6 year old has broken a few things so next time it happens shall I tell him the same? Cheers Trailrage
  6. Pre ordered my two (one of each) from Rails yesterday. looked at a few different places all with similar prices but a lot of different arrival times. between November 2020 to December 2021. Bachmann website shows Jan/Feb 21. Confused Much? Looking forward to these little beauties. only problem now is my 6 year old wants a pair to! time to break out the old Lima models for conversion methinks. Cheers Trailrage
  7. WOW never realised how much dust was on this until I put the pics ip! Whoops. Cheers Trailrage
  8. couple of shots of my old Hornby ones for my boy. MJT Buffers, Replica bogies. one of these was started for a Royal Train conversion but that was put on hold after SWMBO bought me the Bachmann Model. Replica Bogie has a Bachmann Cranked MK2 Mini coupling fitted by removing the Tails from the box and using a 2 part Araldite to stick it to the stub of the original coupling mount. You also have to cut down the Tail of the Coupling itself as well.
  9. Queen of Scots MK1 Sleeper looking just a tad tatty!
  10. I use a drill bit of the same size turned in my fingers just enough to get the lip off the rivet. pulls out quite easy . Fitted Replica Commonwealth Bogies with Bachman Cranked MK2 mini couplings glued to it. Only problem is that the Bogie mounts are to close to the end of the coach and should be slightly more in board than they are. Well worth the time or a little project to do. Ill try and get some pics later of both Hornby and some detail shots of the Bachmann model. Cheers Trailrage
  11. MK1 Restaurant First can be seen in this formation in 1982. Cheers Trailrage
  12. I started but never finished a model of 45000 using a Bachman P1 coach mounted on a Replica BG Chassis and B4 Bogies. It was trying to figure out the best way of doing the windows where I got stuck. Cheers Trailrage
  13. ALways had a facination with the Royal Train since I saw an article in making models of the 1977 Train in a Railway Modeller back in the 80's. There really has been some lovely looking coaches in the Royal Train over the years. It's strange how it seems almost stale in being only MK2B and MK3 nowadays. Although that doesn't stop me from getting excited like a child when I see it! WCJS 76 798 799 2900 2901 2902 2903 2904 2905 2906 2907 2908 & 2909 2910 45000/2911 2912 2914 2915 2916 2917 2918 2920 2921 2922 2923 Was there ever a 2913 and 2919? Cannot find any pics of them
  14. MK 1 RF 325 did indeed cary Lined Royal Plum Livery and carried both numbers during its time in the Royal Trail. Elusive coach to find photos of it would appear as I have only found these two. Cheers Trailrage
  15. 47744 and 47787 were standby Loco's for the Royal Train. Both getting used at different points. 47744 also carried two names during its life and also ran nameless for a while . The Cornish Experience Unamed Royal Mail Cheltenham with Black headcode boxes (my favourite) and again but with Yellow Headcode Boxes 47784 WIndsor Castle
  16. Latest photo says 2009 but that may not be accurate Hope this helps Cheers Trailrage
  17. Driveshafts were fully intact when I removed the body and Circuit board. I popped them out to take the photo. went back in with no play in the cups. Cheers Trailrage
  18. LMS Buffers are about as clean as you can get. Don't think I've ever had to clean a buffer yet. Cheers Trailrage
  19. So had a look at the 68 yesterday. Found what looked like a melted piece of plastic lodged in one of the flywheels which fell out when nudged with a small screwdriver. Unfortunately it didn't make a difference to the running though. Cant imagine for one minuet that this had anything to do with Flywheel Balancing as it just crumble to pieces. Removed the bogie frames Removed the wheel s and inspected the sprockets. Thought I'd run the loco so I could watch the sprockets rotating to make sure there was no debris or anything in there. What I found was both the outer Sprockets which drive the outer wheelsets are slightly oval. As I cant post Videos on here I have no way of showing . Annoyingly the Dapol Warranty is only for 12 months with an option to extend for a further 12 months if Serviced by DCC Supplies Within the first 12 months! . They just directed me to their website for spares for which there are no sprockets. Just complete bogies for £40 and When I only paid £79 for the Loco when it was on offer, its really not worth the hassle. Think I may just have to demotor and use for double headers. Not much more I can do with this now. Cheers Trailrage
  20. Try Lanarkshire Models BP02 http://www.lanarkshiremodels.com/lanarkshiremodelsandsupplieswebsite_158.htm Lovely Castings and have had several different buffers from them. Have a look here. No connection to LMS other than a very satisfied Customer. Cheers Trailrage
  21. Heard from a Friend that the Hornby Shop in Swindon is Closing down. Sad to see another one go in these difficult times. Cheers Trailrage
  22. Thanks for the tips all. As I said nothing appears out of the ordinary but I will try and get round to it to see if I can see an issue or not hopefully. Cheers Trailrage
  23. Well no luck with this. Ranit in for a further 3 hrs and seemed to get worse. DCC Supplies said they haven't seen this before but offered to repair if I chose for a service charge off £24 plus parts. Ho hum . Maybe Ill strip down the drivetrain and see If I can figure it out hopefully not breaking it in the process. Wish me Luck! LOL Cheers Trailrage
