  1. Interesting. Was that a recent modification? The latest pic I can find of 25278 is 209 still carrying its Headlight. 25278 / D7628 Sybilla | Seen at Whitby Station 11th May 2019… | Flickr Cheers Trailrage
  2. Normally I hold it between my finger and you thumb and just give it a wiggle up and down side to side. As long as you gentle enough the broken buffer body should then just pop out. In terms of Pin vice and drill bits. HSS Bits are good if not a little expensive. SWMBO has just got me an Aldi Workfoce pinvice and Drillbit set. Think it was £5.99. Bits may not be the best or strongest but will definately do the job. Cheers Trailrage
  3. It doesn't I'm afraid. Never be afraid to ask for help. There's always something that can be learned. I still do. Heres a few pics that might help explain. 1- Buffer. The end part where the cocktail stick is pointing to locates in the Hole in the Bufferbeam. 2 - how the Buffers should look when located correctly. Hornby 56 with class 31 replacements. 3 - Bachmann 37 chassis ready to be modified. 4- measuring the stub to find what sized Drill bit will be needed 5 - the Diameter. I normally go 2mm do it creates an interference fit. That way you won't need to Glue them in. 6 - very carefully using just your fingers to twist as its plastic (although you may well need a pinvice to hold it in if its metal) as you will have better control. 7- fit the Buffers.
  4. Ah right. so the original Buffer body is still in the Bufferbeam. This will have to be removed so the new Buffers can be fitted. Ill take some pics which might help explain if your not sure. Cheers Trailrage
  5. How about this one http://biag.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/News-Item-Photos-HP-Biscuit-Tunnel-2-train.jpg
  6. were No1 and No2 the same? If so this pic may be of some use. Cheers Trailrage
  7. Wow that looks really good. Mine are definitely way to clean! Cheers Trailrage
  8. Interesting. Can you take a pic of the end of the Buffer which locates into the Bufferbeam and the holes in the Bufferbeam itself ? Never had any issue fitting these to my Hornby 56 but Its possible you may have to open out the hole on the Bufferbeam with a drill bit. It's a simple job though. Cheers Trailrage
  9. Lol just had to go and check to see if I had got the name wrong but nope all OK. These are 1/72 so perhaps a tad big but they will suffice for me. Cheers Trailrage
  10. Andypops if you could post some pics that would be great. I will havdvto have a look at those puppies. Love the Windsor Davies avatar! Cheers Trailrage
  11. Hello Paul. Thank you for that. I hadn't realised that was the case. looks like some research is in need of. Cheers Trailrage
  12. I really like the old Airfix Scorpion/ Scimitar kits I have one built as a Scorpion, one built as a Scimitar and was going to see If I could modify one into a Sabre. just hate the bloody awful tracks that have to be heat glued together. None of mine worked! Cheers Trailrage
  13. Thanks Grimleygrid I will definstely have to get some more chocks. Thinking of using some wide flossing wire for the straps absolutely love these wagons you guys have really outdone yourselves and others with the quality you've achieved. Keep up the amazing work all of you. Cheers Trailrage
  14. Had to rebuild one end with an MJT Rocking unit. And the HSA Wagons
  15. PTA'S on hold untill I can get some 1.5x2.0mm plastic strip to thicken out the top Ribs. Also managed to get 3xpairs of Appelby BSC Acle Motion Bigies from CCT to use. Today its Scrapwagons POA/SSA/HSA/SJA First ones are Cambrian Kits had 4 of these but two are in bits waiting repair after having an altercation with the floor! The other two desperately need new transfers. The rest are Bachmann Models. Last but not least is a Prototype SJA. This was converted from a Bachman MEA open. Theres also a few HSA's ex HEA or the scrap trains well. One of them was bought as a pair several years ago at an exhibition. The other two are std Bachman.
  16. Checked the wheels on mine after that. Had a few that were fitted the wrong way round but easy to sort. I did notice that a couple if then had sidefeames that were tilting inwards. Didnt know the sideframes are actually screwed to the bolster. What an excellent idea for diferent sideframes. Again should be an easy fix this. Also fitted some chocks that SWMBO told me to buy as I would only regret it if I didn't. She wasn't wrong. They are excellent little renditions. Just need to buckup the courage to weather them now and fit strapping. Vehicles are Oxford 1t LandRover FC Ambulance on my Hattons Wawells and a pair of Cararama Landrover LWB Ambulance on the Warflat. Have a couple of S&M FM432's to build for the other Warflat the more I look at these the more I realise how good they really are. LCheers Trailrage.
  17. My 4 beauties were delivered this morning. Thank you to everyone who was involved in this project. These are gorgeous. Last shot is with my Genesis kit.

  20. 0Second coat of paint and already looking better. Also gave an old (paint stipped) Bachmann Loadhaul MKA a coat of ARC Mustard as well.
  21. Wohooo looking forward to these immensely. Cheers Trailrage
  22. Fitted the end ribs on one of the ex ARC JUA using 2mm square plastic rod and given it a first coat of Railmatch ARC Mustard. still need to thicken out the top rib. 2mm square looks to thick for this so will opt for 1.5 x 2mm rod. Still wanna cut that lower bodyside off though.
