  1. Still not even in stock at my chosen shop for my pre-orders! Must be doing laps of the uk on the back of a lorry!
  2. Excuse the flowery bedding! Here is the shape of the hole, you need to get this bang on so the coupling will be tight. Next shows the coupling fitted, you to drill the same size and shape hole through both the front and back of the mounting. These are the style of tension locks I used, a drop type but unsure who makes them. I just had a load going spare. Hope this is of use. Andy
  3. Been busy on and off all weekend with various projects. First up wagons. Now fully completed 3 MXA wagons and another 4 boxes are complete just need final tweaks before fitting to the BDA chassis and then painting etc. Also secured another 3 BDA's to convert. I have removed the huge tension lock couplings from a couple of Hornby PCA cement tanks and was going to add some homemade NEM pockets but as it turns out fitting the small couplings has been very easy. Simple removed old and drilled a couple of holes trough the old mounting structure and hey presto. Got another 7 to do but only takes 10 mins per wagon. Next up a DB RBA wagon. Only want one or two for myself but going to do a few more to sell on. Nearly complete this first one just need Matt varnish, re-build and light weather. A few locos, DB SCHENKER 66 as 66185. Its had a bit of detailing and extra weathering applied. Still needs a little more weathering and the windows need a clean! DCR 56303 (4th I have done), all complete bar weathering. Driver added and all details picked out as per prototype. The previous 3 were some of the first repaints I ever did and were sold on to fund the hobby. Also a loco I have seen a few times heading to or from Calvert. This is now the fourth DCR 56 in my collection (not the last I'm sure). Finally I have done Royal 67006 as seen today. Quite a lot of work to get it to look like this from the standard Hornby release. Driver added and then airbrush weathered, legomanbiffo sound fitted. I'm really pleased with it and can't wait run it with my VGA/RBA vans or an mod train. Hope you have enjoyed looking in.
  4. Quite frankly I'm dubious as to whether Kernow will get any of the DRS ones now. I'm waiting for one but as being clearly shown the DRS ones are nigh on sold out! Also not sure why it's taken this long to deliver them to Cornwall. I used to live there, it's not that hard to get a delivery! Dapol have already said they won't have any to sell themselves so I hope the Kernow ones are set aside.
  5. Yeah not even in stock yet! Bit odd, I know Cornwall is the back end of nowhere (I used to live there) but I was expecting them to be posted by now. Oh well a little more waiting.
  6. I have two DCC Ready on order from Kernow but have yet to hear anything from them. I have emailed so I'm sure will hear something tomorrow. Andy
  7. Still poor. I obviously started somewhere but I can tell you it wasn't an expensive large scale model. Looking forward to the end result.
  8. Extremely poor effort by someone. I'm sure it will be looking great by the time your finished with it Lee.
  9. As always loads going on and loads more to do! Another couple of Colas 47749 completed, one for me and one for sale! Various bits and bobs have been back on the work bench for extra detailing and weathering. I have also been adding wire coupling to a lot of my Hornby locos especially 56's recently. Current projects are completing 56098 in UKRL livery, this basically just took a back seat for no good reason. DCR 56303 and 31452 are nearly completed. Renumbered a DB red 66 to 66185. Fully completed 3x DB MXA wagons now with more to come. Loads of other stuff on going and will update as I get to them. I have bought 66718 from LTM and its stunning especially at 20% off! I also got 67004 with sound from Hawkins Bazaar for £84, bargain. Anyway more pics over the weekend.
  10. Looks great. Not sure I'm convinced by the plates I have as well. They are also not much cheaper than the real deal (metal) either.
  11. Modern image stuff gets a wow from me. Lots of money going to be departing my bank account.
  12. I have a pair of 67's waiting to be done when the real ones are repainted. Looks like Colas gains another loco class! Great thread Jim keep the pictures coming.
  13. Almost certain that one of the driveshafts will have popped out of the Bogie tower meaning only one Bogie driving. Really easy fix. Had this 3 times with Bachmann 66's now.
  14. Not read through any of this thread but I'm guessing what will happen is company x will take on contract and will sub-contract infrastructure maintenance to a third party! Let's call this company Rail Network! This company may well end up maintaining all of the U.K track infrastructure in exactly the same way as it is today. One thing which may stop this could be a monopoly clause but as I said I have not read the thread or any specific details on the new policy.
  15. Great pics Jim. Looking forward to the limited edition of this! Surely got to happen.
  16. Pics from today. Apparently these are not the latest samples! I will say they are looking fantastic, ignore the negative comments! They should be with us according to Dapol early 2017.
  17. Thanks, I sell on surplus items as I move on to other stuff, I also have done various repaints or weathering for other people. Drop me a PM for more information. Andy
  18. So the first final rendition of the MXA wagon is complete and looks superb to my eye. Hope you like the pics, 3 more to go for myself. Lots of weathering next, wagons and locos and a pair of Colas 47749 City of Truro locos to complete.
  19. MK2 MXA wagon nearly complete. The first was a little deep, this one is much better. I want to have them both completed and weathered before the end of next week along with a few other weathering jobs. By the way I have been using plasti zap glue and it really is good, very pleased with it.
  20. Really looking forward to seeing this layout at Warley. Excellent work as always James.
  21. Just the one pic of the latest wagon project. This is the scratch built prototype that's nearly finished and will be sold on when finished and weathered. I'm going to do another 3 for myself as I already have the donor wagons. Hope you like. Picture is low grade sorry.
  22. Great stuff Nick. Glad your still here plugging away.
  23. That was sort of my point Scottish Exile, I was contemplating adding a few more to my order. I thought no rush though as the price isn't going to change again may as well wait until near the deadline. If only I had looked on the website at the weekend when I first thought about it! Never mind really looking forward to seeing them at Warley.
