  1. No point in editing it now. It would appear everyone got the gist of my post. Damn that predictive text!
  2. Excellent news and a pre-order placed. Looking forward to receiving it next year. I also don’t have a massive problem with how the Bachmann model looks but I have had various issues with running qualities over the years. Nothing I couldn’t fix but certainly spent some time faffing with them. I won’t buy anymore now this new model has been announced but I also won’t be offloading my current Bachmann ones. I would also like to say that “The Fying Dustman” would be one that I would hesitate ordering. Fingers crossed. Andy
  3. Layout is looking great Mick. I’m hoping to head up to DEMU and get a better look. Be good to catch up. Andy
  4. They are due to receive the Trans Pennine livery as per further up the thread. Saves money I guess by not applying full compass vinyls.
  5. They look great. I’m excited now. Thanks for sharing.
  6. Black Z21 user, for last 2 years. Literally wouldn't contemplate anything else. Very user friendly and ideal for the modern modeller!
  7. James that 58 is very impressive. Totally out of my ultra modern era but I so want it. Truly inspirational modelling. Also you put everything across in a confident (in your skills) but not look at me way! Very refreshing. Bring on the next update.
  8. Fantastic Lee. I have said it before but the Hornby 56 is a cracking model especially when enhanced with Shawplan bits and bobs. Lovely weathering.
  9. Cracking job brother. Loving the muddy entrance to the field! I vote it be either Rebellion or Skinners!
  10. According to WNXX it is understood that all have serious engine faults, cracked blocks etc.
  11. MyHermes for me. Over 160 items mostly model railway related and never had one issue. Good value for money as well.
  12. Absolutely cracking job Lee. I think the Hornby 56 is one of my favourite models especially so when reworked. Loving your work.
  13. I'm afraid knowledge is power and for the vast majority of people it is important to know what their (my) money is up to. I get the distinct feeling now that the 92 money is propping up something! This I can rightfully surmise as I have no other real info to go off. Updates should be regular (first Monday of the month for example) this way a lot of questions won't get asked and even if nothing is happening a simple "nothing to report" keeps us updated. I also hope Dave is not reading all these posts and sitting on something, (good or bad).
  14. I don't have any tips to help you but can confirm how difficult the windows are to remove from the latest releases. I broke 2 (1 was just useable the other junk). Lucky I had a spare. Maskol is excellent but for a respray they really need to come out. Good luck.
  15. I have about 25 sound decoders and as a rule would say a V4 legomanbiffo is excellent. My favourite sounds though are my 66 with The latest Paul Chetter file and it is exceptional. You literally feel you are driving the loco. Different modes (light loco/ heavy train), notching and braking control on an F key. Really very good (this is the only Zimo decoder I own).
  16. All my 56's that have squeaked are related to the fan mech. Now all detached. You can just pop the drive band off to save snipping it should you want to reinstate in the future. Shunters are looking good.
  17. My Basic livery 68 is nearly fully painted! Some pics in the next few days on my workbench thread. It really is a great model, especially when you take one apart for re-painting. Andy
  18. Thanks Mick. I do them all myself. Cost a fortune if I had to pay to get them done! Plus I love doing them.
  19. Latest running session vid. Station area has been reworked and the bridge my brother made is in temporary position. Hopefully try and do some scenics soon. Loads of ideas just gotta make it happen now.
  20. Thanks for the kind words James. Its Railmatch with an airbrush I use and quite an old pot. I've never had an issue with it touch wood. Varnish is odd stuff though. I thin it with Phoenix precision thinners. Try it with the airbrush it always comes out very flat when I use it. Thanks Andy
  21. So 37254 now fully finished with wheel slip marks etc. No weathering for this one. 56098 has been weathered today. Both of these are for me to keep and will be getting run on Badgers Cross 2 tomorrow. Also weathered my FGW 153 and the first of a rake of MEA wagons, these are to represent the cross rail spoil wagons that I see around here. I have already made the first soil load so will put a pic up when the wagon is dry. They are only halve or so filled due to the density of the spoil. The final two pics are of the now complete 47535. All pics are taken with the locos on my work in progress display unit. It has a Perspex cover that is UV light proof so I can have some locos on display. Hope you enjoy the pics.
  22. I have finally finished the Colas 67 and 95% 56098 in UKRL colours, (just needs some nose end pipe colours changing, wire couplings eventually and some weathering). Colas 67 is in gloss as ex works and looks great. A complex respray with lots of tricky areas but I'm really pleased with it. 56098 is DCC chipped and will get a run on the big layout this week. Tomorrow night I will have 37254 fully complete so will add some pics then. Hope you like, comments welcomed.
  23. AW159 if you like. Not lynx though. Great pics as always Jim, 67's are starting to look nice and grimy.
