  1. I have a question. Would anyone know the correct orange paint to buy off the shelf for these? Or will I need to mix my own. Thanks Andy
  2. I have been making an alternative JGA wagon type to compliment the Bachmann offering. The first wagon is nearly finished. Based on the chassis of the Bachmann JGA with lots of mods. I have retained the weights as body to chassis fixings and the massively modified bogies mount on the original points. The wagon is very strong and it really looks the part. It’s been fun and not too taxing but requires plenty of specialist equipment to make in metal like mine. I can’t wait until it’s in primer at the weekend. Just needs all the pipes and hand rails bending and fitting (Friday night job). Any comments most welcome. Andy

  4. I will add some updated pics later in the week. Progress is going well.
  5. Bit of an update. I have made all three (complete wagons) main body parts now. Friday I should have the first one finally shaped and fitted to the chassis with the correct bogies fitted.
  6. Bit of a today’s workbench update. A pair of Bachmann JGA’s re-livered into DB Schenker livery. Just need varnishing, derailing, re-build and weathering. One is for sale once completed. 60100 in big DB livery. Matt varnish, detailing and weathering required. Finally 60095 in GBRF livery. Looks great already. Better update next week (week off).
  7. Wow that’s great help. I think I will make the sides out of aluminium (alloy) which I can roll at work to get the right curve. I also might make the chassis out of alloy. If I have any questions after I start, I know who I’m coming to! Yours are looking great btw.
  8. The KFA ones do look perfect but not available as spares as far as I can see. Just bought some of these as they were readily available. I can modify the ends to have the cross arms easily enough.
  9. Thanks. I have deduced that the bogies are fitted to the Bachmann intermodal wagons of which I have a spare pair. So the bogies are sorted. Now I could do with some dimensions and ideally a wagon to use as the chassis with tweaks.
  10. I’m wanting to build some alternative JGA wagons (ones Bachmann don’t produce). I have enclosed some pictures of the wagons I want to scratch build. I’m going to make the bodies and either make or adapt the chassis. The bogies are a type I don’t know (I’m not exactly knowledgeable about such things). Any info on the bogies and where to buy them or any other info such as dimensions or kits (I couldn’t find any) would be much appreciated. It might well be a long drawn out build but I really would like some. I also might end up buying a 3d printer to print the bogie and other bits required. The zoomed in bogie photo is of yet another JGA variant but the bogies are the same as the ex RMC orange ones in the other pics that I want to make. As I say any info would be very helpful. Andy
  11. So another JGA wagon is almost complete bar the airbrush weathering. I am really enjoying doing these, they really come together with some details added and the weathering sorting out. I have included a pic with one I have done versus how it started out factory weathered. I hope you agree it’s an improvement. Thanks for looking in.
  12. So the first of the RMC JGA’s has been on the work bench tonight. I have 8 of these to go with 5 ex Buxton lime and 1 DB Schenker red one that’s part complete. These will form a nice Whatley quarry rake to be hauled by various locos. They will all be different inspired by various photos I have of them. All will be detailed similar to this one and will have the factory weathering part removed and added to as required. This one has a few more details to be added and then a little airbrush work to tie it all together. Hope you like.
  13. Shoey thanks for the kind words. I have had a very quiet spell since the end of last and the start of the year. Recently though I have been getting back to it and you have reminded me to start updating this thread. I have recently completed a GWR green 165 and 150 for someone that concluded a long drawn out project. I am working on 4 MHA wagons for someone else and these are nearing completion. For myself I have a couple of 57601 in WCRC livery (one to sell), a DRS basic 68, a GWR 153 and a pair of Colas 67’s. Absolutely loads of other things on the go but these are currently in favour. I have also started on a rake of worn JGA wagons which is part complete. More arriving this week. Anyway a few pics of work in progress. Will start updating regularly now I’m back on it. Thanks again Shoey.
  14. Looking forward to a video of one of your trains taking a tight curve and compressing the buffers on the loco and all the wagons or alternatively some very heavy OO wagons compressing the buffers under slowing/braking. It would look very impressive. Andy
  15. Latest video. Short due to camera battery giving up. Much bigger one next time.
  16. Finally getting back into Rob. I will be in touch soon!
  17. Warley Charlie. I could leave it with you when I arrive (first thing) and collect when departing (a good few hours later). Andy
  18. Just bagged a Bachmann 70 (the new Freightliner one) for £91 delivered using the eBay code. Bargain. Thanks.
  19. An update finally. More progress has been made. The loco depot and carriage/wagon yard has been now been completed leaving only a very small branch line to be finished when the landscape is finalised. My brother has completed the scenic break tunnel and has started to do some scenics on the loco depot. Anyway a few pictures. Tomorrow will be a running session which will result in a new video. Comments welcome.
  20. Welcome aboard. I’m sure you will find plenty of info and inspiration on here. There could well be other members very close to you in south Oxfordshire!
  21. Bif. I will happily take you up in the offer of a free update. Can I bring to a show to be done? Thanks Andy
  22. 134 items sent by me using Myhermes (95% expensive OO locos). Never had one issue and always good feedback on eBay often commenting how quick delivery was. Also received plenty of items sent to me with again no issues. I will continue to use and much prefer the ease of drop off with Myhermes. Royal Mail have their place with certain items but are prohibitively expensive for most items I send. Also had at least 3 Royal Mail items disappear over the years. Consider me a happy customer.
