  1. You definately do get around ! Great video footage of these two wonderful locos. Nothing against modern motive power, but there is something special about the 44 Class. It is certainly my favourite diesel locomotive class. Thanks for sharing. Cheers, Gary. ps. If any Aussie members are in Sydney on the 3rd March 2013, come on down to the Thirlmere Festival Of Steam. See link ;http://www.thirlmerefestivalofsteam.com.au/index.html

  10. Hi David, You'll find that the coal trains that I filmed were heading to the Hunter. On average in the Hunter the trains are approximately 60-84 wagons long, with each wagon weighing between 80 & 120 tonnes gross, depending on the type of wagon used. Down on the Illawarra, the coal trains there are only 36-38 coal wagons, due to running through the Cityrail network. Although I must admit I have seen some pretty BIG coal trains north of Brisbane !! Cheers, Gary.

  12. Having just found your thread, I'm very impressed with it all. Nice work on both the layout landscaping and the scratch building. Cheers, Gary.
  13. Three other pretty locomotives over here in New South Wales, Australia are the C32 Class, the C36 Class (Pig) and the D55 Class. Both the C32 and C36 were photographed at Sydney Central during the Great Train Expo last year. The D55 was photographed at Thirlmere (Rail Transport Museum). P-6 / C32 Class, 3265 in maroon livery at Central Station. Circa 1892. C36 Class, 3642 in original livery. This loco class are commonly known as 'Pigs'. Circa 1925. K-1353 / D55 Class, 5595 in original black livery seen housed undercover at the NSW Rail Transport Museum, Thirlmere, NSW. Very unconventional Southern valve gearing on this class. Circa 1918. A D59 Class can be seen in the background. Cheers, Gary.
  14. Nice video of the Indian Pacific 69843...!! Excellent camera work, puts camera handling to shame ! I guess that's what happens when you use a tripod, unlike my shakey effort. Cheers, Gary.

  16. G'day again, Here are two links to some railway action at Werris Creek, in North Western New South Wales. Werris Creek was the first railway town in NSW, with the GNR (Great Northern Railway) running through there in 1885. It is a great place to watch trains go by. Countrylink Xplorers from Moree and Armidale hook up together, Big coal trains. These trains carry upto 82 coal hoppers as seen here. That's a lot of coal ! Cheers, Gary.
  17. Here is a few shots from around the state (NSW) The first four pics are all located in Goulburn. This next pic is from Dubbo. The next two pics are from Werris Creek. Cheers, Gary.
