  1. Just got the order processed email from Hattons for my EC B12! Can't wait
  2. What about an N2 with a decent chassis?
  3. I made my own replacement plate for gaining access to the smokebox. I used the supplied one as a template. So far this is my model of the year and it's out of my normal region!
  4. Does anyone know if these are still due in Nov? Really looking forward to this one
  5. Loving my USA tank. Very smooth runner given its tiny wheelbase. It was a pleasant surprise how easy it was to get the body off for installing my Lenz chip. I think an etched brass replacement for the hinged front footplate (?) plate would really finish this off!
  6. I was resisting this one until I watched SDJR7Fs video. That mesmerising un brritish valve gear got me, duly ordered
  7. Have just received mine in chilly NZ. Have already replaced the smoke box dart with a Mainly Trains one. Am keen to add the lifting eyes. Does anyone know of an etched brass item? These have alluded me so far, have tried using black plasticard with the hole punch but an etched item would be best.
  8. Is there anyone else like me waiting patiently for a carmine and cream version of this lovely looking coach?
  9. Just got an email from Hattons stating these will be available from 1 July!
  10. With Hornby bringing out the Q6 this week I guess demand for the Slaters NER hopper will become even greater? It's certainly the one I wish I had bought plenty of when they where readily available

    Q6

Just got the email from Hattons stating that the Q6 is due in on 16June! Can't wait
  12. I see that these wagons have now made it to the products appearing within the next 60 days on the Bachmann website. Personally I can't wait to get mine
  13. I ended up fitting an ESU Lokpilot v4.0 and it now runs very sweetly indeed. I also changed the wiring slightly as the tender pickups on mine where going to unused pins on the chip. You can now lift my loco and it still runs with just the tender on the rails
  14. Hi Dave Looks like the website fairies have finally done their stuff, I can see tail lamps and new buffer stops!

  16. Many thanks for this. I was really starting to scratch my head over this one so very happy to hear it is a known issue.
  17. My Tango worked fine on my small DC test track but since installing a Lenz silver it has been operating most erratically. It purrs along for a while and then comes to a complete standstill and then nothing. i tried some basic fault-finding and noticed some issues with the tender pickups that I resolved. I finally gave up as I was a little grumpy. On my return the next day the loco performed faultlessly for a few minutes and then back to stops and starts then a final stop. I even tried a different decoder but similar results. Next stage is to look at that damn motor. Anyone else had similar issues or is this likely to be the dodgy commutator issue discussed above?
  18. Good news Theaker Looking forward to hearing about your drawbar modifications. Mine runs like a dream. All I have done so far is paint the axle ends and handrails black, but closer tender coupling and a fall plate are next on my list
  19. Does anyone know what's happening with the follow up volume to this excellent book? I am sure I saw it on Amazon pre Xmas as a title about to be released but it has now dissaperaed
  20. Thank Teaky. I will pay more attention to both Amazon and the bargain thread from now on!
  21. That's a great price Teaky- where do you manage to get them for 25 quid?
