  1. They look fantastic, thanks for the photos. Another keenly awaited release
  2. Any sign of these beauties at Warley chaps? I can't wait to get one!
  3. Hi Dave Any news on your shock absorber wagon buffers? Just seen a nice project in the latest Wild Swan LNER wagon book for a schock absorbing steel wagon, just needs some of exquisite buffers and the jobs a good un!
  4. Can't wait to get my hands on one after seeing these photo's I was just the same with J15!
  5. I have just modified my Hall a la Brian Kirby by cutting out the footplate section and replacing it with black plasticard. Please excuse the middle lamp iron as it fell off into the impenetrable jungle that is the carpet in my railway room. I then went to add my favourite decoder but wasn't happy with the arrangement in the model as supplied. I decided after much procrastination that I could use the tender chassis from a new Hornby Castle and install a Hornby plug from the loco to the new tender. This would give me maximum weight in the loco plus tender pick-ups. I drilled a hole below the cab to take the wiring out and another to mount a copper rod to attach the tender drawbar. I then had to trim off the bottom of the Bachmann tender top to make it fit the Hornby tender chassis. It just needs etched plates, fallplate, crew, lamp irons and lamps plus some weathering. Has anyone had the same issue as me with using Fox Hall plates as shown in my photo of Kinlet Hall? I trimmed off the plinth to find that the radius doesn't match the Bachmann model. Any ideas guys? I normally use Fox for all my transfers and plates.
  6. Great work again Brian. I had to look a few times at that kinked stanchion to see what you had done. I was considering thinning it down but I am amazed at what a difference some black paint can make
  7. Has anyone fitted a DCC decoder to a new modified Hall yet? Just took mine apart prior to surgery ala Brian Kirby and note how small the pocket below the cab is, looks quite restrictive.
  8. Mine arrived within 5 days of ordering al the way over here in New Zealand! I decided to try and enhance the screen effect that Hornby have tried on the middle vents. I used some MIG productions dark wash followed by a little rubble dust powder from the same stable. I also use dark wash to highlight all the nooks and crannies on the bodyside My photo shows the bottom one with washes and a little detailing on the underframe before general weathering (not that you can see on the photo but I have added some brake rigging between the brake shoes and a safety wire). The upper is as new.
  9. I would recommend Fox Transfers. They post to me in NZ and are excellent quality, easy to apply
  10. What about your antipidoean customers Mike? Should I PM you?
  11. Hi Mike Any news on the conversion kit for the Bachmann Ivatt Mogul to a BR Class 2? I have a donor already to go
