  1. Window detail in the test build. The window sill should be a tight fit so a small adjustment is needed to tighten up the fit. The door has been designed so that the customer can model open if desired. Simple interior detail and fireplace
  2. Ive been asked to build some building kits bespoke and one of them is Brightlingsea Engine Shed Office. Ready on the CAD to lasercut tomorrow.
  3. I've received feedback that I'd also missed the H beam detail on the wheel, so not to disappoint...
  4. Once I looked at the photograph I then realised that I needed a cogged wheel...
  5. Great, I'm thinking of similar. I wondering how to design the perspective to get the look and feel of the location. What scale are you modelling in?
  6. Steve, I'm BR blue and model in that odd scale of 7. My main stock is Heljan RTR that I've reprofiled the wheels on. It's an easy conversion. I'm after blue 47's to add to the collection, and a blue 40. I have 31's, 37's, 47's, 55's and Bachmann 03, 08 and a class101. The 08 is currently being converted to s7 but the 03 and 101 are already done. I've got some big train coaches to convert to mark 2's aka cut and shut when I get the time. I'm also after some mark 1's. I'm thinking that it can run a small amount of freight, parcels, motorrail, possibly a crane outfit and even some underground stock. Primarily it will be a photo plank that I can play trains on.
  7. I just need to find someone to build the signals...
  8. Not sure about a thread, but here is the track plan to wet your appetites some more..
  9. Also on my workbench thread but I built this yesterday... And to aid painting, the brick section was built to be painted before final assembly.
  10. You really know how to bring the scene alive Steve Following with much interest as will be trying to use your techniques on my Kings Cross stabling point layout.
  11. Latest prototype building to roll of the brush workbench today. GCR platelayers hut. I can see a few errors and improvements I can make for the actual kit. Designed with painting in mind so is easy to paint. Spray the hut matt black and paint the brick work before gluing together.
  12. Hi Guys, Thanks Steve for the recommendations. I wouldn't want to step on Rob (Deven Laser craft) toes but I would be pleased to help out if you can't get hold of him. Please PM me with any enquires. Phil
  13. I find that soldering flux will rust steel quite convincingly. Guess how I know. Might be worth putting a little on the track sides and letting nature work her magic?
  14. Apologies for the poor picture quality but I used my iPhone to take some picture of a weighbridge I am creating for a 7mm layout to S7 standard named Love Lane. Based on the GER weighbridge at Ongar. The letters are less than 2mm high. I think a coat of primer will show up the detail really well. Will try and get a coat of paint on sometime this week.
  15. I think Pete Harvey does some parts for lamps. May be of use?
  16. I'm working on this huge building currently. It's over 1.6m wide at 7mm scale, but fortunately it's low relief. It's still the biggest I've been asked to do to date. I will be cutting out this weekend so more pictures will follow. For now, here is the first draft.
  17. I don't need any clearance as the kerf of the laser is usually enough. In fact the the kerf needs to be compensated for. I usually allow a kerf of 0.2 over and reduce accordingly once I've cut a test piece. Who are you getting to cut your designs?
  18. A small sash window printed in 7mm, 4mm and 2mm from the same drawing. The 2mm glazing bars are too small but the 4mm glazing bars should be ok for the 2mm windows.
