A Guide to using the Silhouette Cameo Cutter
BrushType4 replied to JCL's topic in Scenery, Structures & Transport
I think that is a great idea and I do believe the designer of your test building would do this if the specifications were passed his or my way for what is required. -

Hi Mark, The arches and bridges are available and i'll post up pictures as soon as I can. Unfortunately they are based on prototypes and so do not exactly match. I could as a one off make a run for you to fit your space and match up height wise. Let me know and have you worked out what you need chimney wise yet?

Thanks Steve. Some of those letters are only 1mm tall. It's given me the idea to produce custom designs to represent the cast iron signs seen all over the railway network back the day. Also street names too.

Hi Oli, PVA glue will work well. Less is more. To paint, spray with Halfords red oxide as that makes an excellent base for the brickwork. Just don't get the kit too wet or you risk the MDF degrading.

Pragmatic Pre-Grouping - Mikkel's Workbench
BrushType4 replied to Mikkel's topic in Kitbuilding & Scratchbuilding
This is brilliant. I hope you don't mind but I'm going to burn the design on some veneer and cut out on the laser to see how that works. I'll post some pictures after the weekend but I'm off to have a relaxing weekend in the caravan. -
Steve, Im off on my easter holidays Thursday so I will look out for the beach huts and make sure I have a tape measure with me. The signal box looks fab too.

Steve, get loads of pictures of this mate and a few measurements wouldn't go amis if possibe? Do you know if this building has been surveyed by English Heritage already?

A bespoke building just having a final check for fit before final printing and posting off. Nothing is glued at this point. Note that the brick pattern is off as the laser was run quickly to print off a sample and not setup as it should have been. I must kerb my enthusiasm! Its been designed to enable the painting of the fiddly parts before assembly. You don't have too though and more skill painters won't be worried about painting once assembled.

Hi, I design and build lasercut buildings, specialising in prototype designs. Much of my work is bespoke for specific orders but since September last year I have started a small increasing range of buildings and asessories. I'll post completed buildings ready to purchase and answer any questions you may have. To kick this off, chimney stacks complete with pewter pots. Weighbridge with user definable option to fully personalise to your chosen railway company. An example of corner joints. GCR Platelayers hut

First Draft of Westbury Shed on my workbench today as suggested by Onslaught (Phill Dyson). This will include engraved brickwork inside and out. Acrylic glazing and MDF window frames on a 3mm MDF base. I was thinking the track would be hand built on the base supplied but I could change it if required. Let me know what you think...
