  1. There was a Hornby Grange for 50 quid, but I don't need a 5th Grange...
  2. The pre-owned offerings lately (at least for the past few weeks) have been a bit dismal.
  3. I’m going to boldly predict another street track. Sigh…
  4. It’s surprising considering Brush wasn’t exactly inexperienced with building diesels at this point in time? edit - at least during entry and service before modifications. its pretty damning when EWS/othet freight companies decide “nah, we’ll buy another loco instead of continuing to use these relatively new ones”
  5. Dropping Barcelona for Madrid.
  6. Madrid closing in on F1 grand prix deal from 2026 Not another street race!
  7. How 'honest' was the math in the Serpell Report when recommending that the line being closed? Was it a case of someone who didn't have accurate info cooking the books to provide the result that they desired? 👨‍🍳
  8. I think the biggest lesson from 2023 - don’t hire a driver based on one race at an east track with a car with good straight line speed.
  9. I was watching a video on the Class 158/159 and it was said that the SWML (SR) had been left to rot and claimed that it was threatened with closure on several occasions. Was it really close to actually being closed or does the video play it up? Timestamp on where this comment was made:
  10. Also there was pretty of tobacco and alcohol sponsors to pay for it all - something that isn't as in vogue anymore.
  11. Ah 1999, the year nobody wanted to win. 🤦‍♂️ Had Schumacher not broken his leg, I think that he would have won more easily over Haikkinen than Haikkinen did over Irvine.
  12. My sister in law got my brother for his 40th birthday tickets to the 2024 Monaco Grand Prix
  13. I think people underappreciate what a genius Prost was because most casual fans fanboy over Senna. Alain Prost was only 12.5 points away from being an 8-time World Champion: In 1983 Prost could've won the title by finishing 5th or better. In 1984 Prost could've won the title only if Lauda finished 3rd or lower. In 1988 Prost could've won the title if Senna didn't win either Japan or Australia. In 1990 Prost need 10 more points than Senna from 2 races. However Prost would need to win both Japan and Australia because only a drivers best 11 results counted and Prost had already finished in the points 11 times that year before Japan. 1988/1990 is really stupid for having the "only the best results count".
  14. Bottas could provided a challenge in qualifying, his race pace was usually way worse. If ballast is the only way to slow down cars, then it's not F1. It's sport cars...
  15. People do not understand how potentially dangerous a move that was for Senna to take out Prost like that - anything could have gone wrong considering the level of safety wasn't what it was today.
  16. Not going to lie, I was kind of holding my breath that the loco would go around the curves and not derail and fall to its demise...
  17. I hope he finds his lost submarine wherever he is right now.
  18. Just curious, what's "he-who-must-not-be-named" up to these days?
  19. Do we think the new Accurascale release will drive down the prices of the used Bachmann 57xx/8750 ones? Or sorry if this is the wrong place for that question.
  20. I've never pre-ordered a loco - I always wait to see what quality issues the locos have.
  21. You mean you don't use the same password for everything?
  22. Does the tale of 6858 Woolston Grange striking the platform at Sheffield count as ‘going somewhere it obviously shouldn’t’ Or was it just an inadvertent accident?
