When would it be company issue fencing that the GWR put in themselves versus a fence in a nearby town/farmer's field etc or is all railway fencing supplied by the company when they built the railway? I've seen a number of layouts where there's no fencing at all. I’ve also seen a number of historical prototypical photos from the line side where it looks like there is no fence at all. Also, how prototypical is the Ratio GWR Linside Fencing is and where would it have been used vs other OO RTR fences?

What's the quality of the ballast like compared to other brands? I'm assuming that because it's a kit of multiple things (ballast/ballaster/glue) - it may be cheaper to buy things separately rather than together but you pay for the convenience of it all being together?

Just curious as a number of Castles and Halls were changed - is there a reason that they couldn't have been converted other than the obvious reason of cost.

I have the book "An Historical Survey of Great Engine Western Sheds 1947" by E.Lyons and the one thing I noticed that out of the 100+ engine sheds that the GWR had, only about 16-17 had roundhouses/inner turntables. The two surprising ones that don't are Oxford and Chester and even Bristol Bath Road (but Bristol St. Philips Marsh does 🤔). Is there any reason why some sheds would have this set up of just have shed roads and external turntable vs having it inside? It looks like quite a number of Welsh sheds were built with internal roundhouses. I have this discussion up to the other Big 4 companies as well.

I decided to get a 2nd King which has the shirtbutton as I am missing one of those (I have a great crest western and working on a black GW one). edit: first loco purchase in 5 or so years.

Thank you - my comment was just pointing out how it's interesting he's choosing to use his time to basically 'get into our heads' rather than use it for his own productive purposes. And it worked because we are still talking about it. *Assuming he's a joker and there's not anything actually seriously wrong with him.
