    What was the usual amount of time between overhauls for the various classes?

    I suspect the answer to this question will be "it depends", but how long after the GWR livery was changed by the management would the locos be re-painted? Obviously, the mainline express ones (Kings/Castles/Stars) would be repainted first, but could months or years go by before the shirt-button was painted over with GWR on it?

    I think that I am coming down with the symptoms of being a rivet counter. When I look at layouts lately, I think "well, that's not accurate at all". Next, I might have to open my mouth and tell off the layout owner how inaccurate his layout is. Is it curable?

    It is a bit annoying how manufacturers release GWR locos with 'Great Western' on it, when there's barely any RTR coaching stock that matches the period. But then again, I am a simple person.

    When my older brother's girlfriend visited the house last weekend, she was interested in seeing the layout. She was asking about how much everything cost and when I told her what I had roughly spent, she turned to my brother and said "that's like 2 pairs of shoes" (she is used to the fancy things of life in her family). For the sheer quality of stuff, I rather have the layout than 4 shoes...
