  1. I don't know whether to 'yippee' or 'oh dear' - one is not going to be enough especially with those livery choices - granddad fired/drove these.
  2. The Dapol reference numbers given to the forthcoming reissue of the ex Lionheart autotrailers are 7P-004-001 thru 7P-004-005. (Tower Models website) Now the milk tankers, though technically passenger stock, were given 7F-031-xxx numbers by Dapol. So what are 7P-001-xxx, 7P-002-xxx and 7P-003-xxx? Do Dapol have some other passenger stock in development that they have not disclosed yet? Or are these just the numbers allocated to the Lionheart suburbans - diagrams D109, E140 and E141.
  3. One wonders. Having done the prairie, Heljan do the mogul because many/some of the parts are common to both. In doing so they do the tender. What other engines used these tenders and might conceivably follow in due course - always assuming the mould(s) has/have been spec'd for extended use?
  4. It seems they are planning to produce a green with whiskers as a Tower models limited edition.
  5. Looking at the pics on the excellent Paul Bartlett web site, there does seem to be some variation in the corrugations on different vans, some are quite wavy others are smaller and more 'blobby'. presumably differing builders and periods, but they were not all the same.
  6. I fancy Concorde had a very considerable aerodynamic (and aero heating) input. The droop snoot, and the curved delta wing were there for a reason.
  7. You may be best guided by how Heljan intend to introduce this on the model, if the upper nose is to be cut a tad deeper, resulting in a slightly raise surface, then thin plasticard feathered filled and feathered would be the best, if laborious, route (or at a pinch mask it off give and the upper node a couple of coats of thickish paint). If it is to be an etched line or raised line, then scribing or adding a thin rod/streched sprue would be the best approximation. Paint the line on only if that is what Heljan intend to do. If time does not allow the sort of mod required then leave it off as a painted line would give a false impression.
  8. I would have thought it depends how the large prairie does, if it does well there are lots of options there. There are lots of niche prototypes people would like, but not that many would make viable production models. They are bound to be looking hard at how Falcon did. Models of prototypes and restricted fleets need a wow factor to make them worth doing. But you never know your luck, they may try one - they did the railcar.
  9. Many of the early comments on Dapol o gauge were along the lines of forget the opening doors get the basics right. They may be bonus for some and might even aid alternative versions but after all the flak Dapol got (some of it justified and some OTT) you can hardly blame them.
  10. Dapol Website gives HEA as in tooling with an ETA 2nd quarter 2016, as are the 10'wb vans. Presumably in concert with the 08. If we are lucky they may make Telford ! HAA is given as 3rd quarter (Christmas 2016?) The first engineering samples of the 08 have been shown, so maybe light at the end of the tunnel but obviously care of cups and lips is still needed.
  11. A tease was given implying more details at the NEC, suggesting Warley, but announcement of the actual model had been delayed. Rapido tease a new modal which has been scanned details to be announce at Warley but this too has had to be delayed as a result of some issue with the tooling. Rapido model will be release in conjunction with an unnamed uk partner. Have these two 'ever been seen in the same room' so to speak, or are they one and the same.
  12. Note the buffer, models can have crooked buffers and still be right.
  13. Given that Richard is involved in both companies, it would be kind of difficult not to have some cross feeding. I seen to recall that when Richard's appointment was announced there was some sort of 'accord' implied. That Lionheart would continue (as it has) and the o gauge ranges would compliment each other. Also the Terriers had been announce prior to Richard's appointment, so long term plans could have been pre-existing. As you say possibly a good thing by avoiding duplication. Of course this remains conjecture - I could be wrong.
  14. The phrase was 'other manufacturers' and while this does indeed include at least 2 kit manufacturers, one may assume that Dapol could have inside knowledge of Lionhearts future plans. It all depends on what the working agreement is between the two. Have to be down the road a little as Lionheart have the GWR coach and the LMS/GWR/etc opens to bring out first, but you never know.
  15. 'Hyundai Victory' with, we hope, the first batch of O2s still on board is now on the Suez Canal sailing across the desert !! The new section of the canal opened on 6th August to enable two way traffic over a larger part of the canal has not yet been updated on the maps. So Hyundai Victory together with other north bound ships shows up as sailing across the desert.
  16. Quite right, and that's before the photograher uses coloured filters to control the contrast of clouds/sky, vegetation and so forth.
  17. It may be worth noting that 'business' covers far more than investigating prototypes - finance, premses, distributors, retailers and commissions for a start. However since 'hope springs etc' I imagine those interested in things north of the border will not be able to help wondering. May be more approriate in the wish list thread though.
  18. Hyundai Victory currently heading for Suez, eta 7/9/2015 20:30. Out of tracking range at present. That of course is the ship, as Station Master points out, the container may or may not still be on board. Future shipments yet to be announced. Sandwich Sardine cans (doesn't actually sound much of a threat put like that) and storms permitting. There have been reports of increased pirate activity in the Malacca Strait (off Singapore) This ship has already passed that, but future shipments will have to go that way whether Suez or Cape bound. A30 alarm still very much 'off'
  19. Hyundai Victory now moored in Columbo - Sri Lanka (Always assuming the O2 container is still on it) Got in 02.00 UTC (GMT) a little behind target.
  20. 'Hyundai Victory' with first O2s on board still in Singapore but next destination put up COLOMBO_SRI LANKA eta 2300 28 Aug. May well be sailing tonight. Edit - 1430BST tug in attendance Edit - 15.29BST Manoeuvring
  21. 'Hyundai Victory' with first O2s on board now moored at Singapore
  22. First of the O2s (Black Southern and early BR) are on the ship 'Hyundai Victory' details in the Kernow news letter. 'Hyundai Victory' can be tracked as before with the well tank. Currently well out of Hong Kong but a long way to go yet.
  23. Five at least surely, LBSCR umber, SR olive, Wartime black, BR black early crest, BR black late crest. and that's not counting BR lettering variations or WWI economies, which may or may not have occurred.
  24. When the tank wagon was announced it was said these would leap frog the opens, well the tank waggons are making good progress (see the Lionheart facebook) One would hope the opens are chugging away but of course may have to wait their turn for funds and/or slots to progress to cutting metal or getting production runs.
