  1. Not sure about that - do you mean Model Trade . Net? http://www.ehattons.com/Trade/stocklist/results.aspx?searchfield=hymek
  2. I must say Gwiwer I am getting more and more impressed with your results - truly superb. As a matter of interest how do you store your stock when not in use, and do the powders stay put over time or do they need an occasional 'overhaul'? Rob
  3. Yes I should like to know that too. Hornby's 4266 and 4298 are both in the 1919 to 1923 batch so I guess it would be straightforward, but that is only a guess and we need to hear from Mike.
  4. In 'Great Western Journal' Summer 1992 Cornish issue there are a couple of nice pictures of 42s - 4298 at Fowey (sharing duties with 4215) and 4206 entering St Blazey yard. Whilst it is not exactly Devon - well, they had to get there somehow...!
  5. Absolutely excellent weathering Gwiwer - just how I remember them and really shows off the model at its best. My wife just looked over my shoulder and thought it was a real one!
  6. Second mail order from them - ordered yesterday at 4.45pm, and arrived here 12.30pm today. So fast, reasonable price, very well packed, and a good alternative to the usual box shifters as far as I can see. Usual disclaimers - no connection, satisfied customer etc.
  7. I always thought that faded Connex looked truly awful - it can't have helped the companies image. BR blue my favourite, especially when first applied and clean.
  8. Thanks for confiming that, I thought that that had to be the answer.
  9. I actually remember the first day when I first saw the V livery appear - I was standing with a friend on Portchester station, and the porter explained to us that it was to indicate the van end. Strangely, I always remembered the V as being yellow - I know I'm quite wrong, but either they faded or it is one of those tricks which memory plays on you. I've got the all green version on order, and I am now trying to resist buying the V version to go with it.....Oh dear.....

    Hornby 2 BIL

Marvellous stuff! Really takes me back....
  11. I think that when I ordered mine (18/2/09) the price was expected to be £149 odd, and it was to Kernow's credit that when they switched the project from Dapol to Bachmann they dropped the price to the £109 mark and only had to increase it again as production costs rose. When they phoned me the other day to update my card details, they told me that I as I had waited 4 years I would receive the 205 at a favourable price - which I think is actually really very fair of them. Having travelled on the full size versions for 30 odd years, I never expected to eagerly anticipate the arrival of another one...

    Dapol 'Western'

...and when did any magazine describe any model as - well - bad. I only bought in to Dapol for the first time last year, and I must say I am enormously impressed and am 'voting with my wallet'! I do so hope that Dapol can maintain the standard - I am keeping an open mind about Hornby's design intentions, but to me they reached their peak with the T9, and any decline in standards now will be slightly disappointing

    Dapol 'Western'

    That's convinced me - I'm ordering one!
  14. ...and 619 would look so good behind a terrier on a Hayling layout (Southern Way Special 2 page 42)
  15. Yes been trying to get round to it for a year now. It is just a question of space.... Probably a good subject for a new topic if anyone wants to start it....?
