  1. May I just say, it also smells nice.
  2. ... ive never had that problem. Its all about technique as much as it is about tech. Anyway, I don't want to hijack the thread, or divert its course. Im off to see if the weather is clement enough to run a few new loco's in the garden.
  3. Fair point, but perhaps for the benefit of your investors, you should be a bit clearer because " teaser pics from the laser scanning" led me to believe we'd be seeing some of the raw data (pointcloud) which is of course my bag. Sorry to hear about the lack of detail for the bogies and undercarriage. Who did you use?
  4. I hate to be picky, but these are not pictures from a laser scan. These are screen grabs of CAD models in a CAD workspace.
  5. I'm very excited by the 2015 pullman news. Of course, I knew about them over a year ago... here's how: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/first-class-scanning-service-craig-crane

I would assume that the distinction between the two countries is that Factory = China, Warehouse = UK I may be wrong, but its a handsome looking loco, and the fact that its in transit is good news regardless of its current location
  7. Glad I found this post! I was having terrible issues with the sound version, with it just cutting out on points and at any speed, totally at random. I pulled her apart and fitted custom pickups and she is now performing wonderfully. Hopefully, the design flaw of the existing pickups has been noted at Barwell and not to be repeated. Its a clever idea, but if it aint broke....
  8. Just a thought, but wondering if some Costume Diamante stones on the LED's, may help diffuse the light and give some spead to the areas that need it. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-4-6mm-DIAMANTE-STONES-FLAT-BACK-GEMS-DRESS-DANCE-COSTUME-MAKING-CRYSTALS-/370803300443 The 4mm crystal clears seem ideal. 9. Snapped with the iPhone when testing out my You-choos Bachmann 9F Again, with the trusty iphone... Durring a break in filming at Bluebell for Muppets Most Wanted, I stumbled across a plethora of scrap behind one of the sheds.

And we certainly dont need any more Hornby bashing either. Its unwarranted, if you approach the issue with a realistic perspective on their recent challenges.
  11. Ive had my Z21 for almost a year now, and I love it. Its been a real power house for the oo garden railway, and is by far the best controller I have used. However, getting a traintech DS3 3 aspect light to work is proving hard, even for my considerable IT know how. Ive tried so many different ways, to no avail. The 2 aspect lights work fine, but thats because they only require a single address. The three aspect requires 2. One for red & green, a 2nd for amber. No matter what I try, it fails I can get it to work in config, with the following settings (brackets indicate the green selected box) TEST ADD1 ADD2 GREEN (1) 0 1 0 RED 1 (0) 1 0 AMBER 1 1 (1) 0 So this works great in config, but if you move back a page, and then forward again, these settings dont stay fixed. It appears that the config is only save when a total of 6 boxes are select, 3 for address 1, and 3 for address 2 as an example TEST ADD1 ADD2 GREEN (1) 0 1 (0) RED 1 (0) (1) 0 AMBER 1 1 (1) 0 Step a page back, and forward again, and these settings have taken, but of course they mean diddly in terms of getting the DS3 to actually work As I understand it, address 1 is the fwd and reverse attribute that switches red and green address 2 is the same, but for amber... So it should be straight forward. It will be a real shame to have to relegate this 3way down to a basic red green 2 way just because I cant fathom out the matrix used for the controls.

Tony's video review as well as the one in print just makes me want to see her going around my garden even more.... Its a shame the Live Steam project is finished, she would have been a great Live Steamer!
  13. Yes, your right about it being my railway, but I do think (having just done a bit of research on google, that the differences are to obvious. Id never get away with a full rake of them. Its one of my favourite trains on the layout, so I will look into illuminating the stock I have and maybe get the MK II f's for another train
  14. I have a question, being a bit of a novice.... Would these look out of place on a Blue / Yellow HST? I tend to favour Bachmann coaches over Hornby, and the DCC and lights option is very attractive to an oo garden railway user (for those summer evenings etc etc) Ta
