Dave has acknowledge that the product range needs cleaning on the site so that it is up to date and representative of his current range plans. IMHO The site seems to have gone live with test data rather than real data and we will need to give him some time to sort it out. I guess first priorities are ensuring the APT, King and class 92 are there and accurate, so those projects can advance. Then other items can be corrected.
Between this and the projects, he clearly has a fair amount of work on his hands at the moment.
Ahem and the King in N.
The rest of the projects aren't important right now.

I find the Hornby Roco style coupling only good for fixed elements of coach rakes, they are a PITA to couple. All coaches that require uncoupling I use Kadees.

Fitting a new PCB for Next18 is evidence of investment which will need to be recouped, that would indicate further batches provided these sell.
Dapol are the masters at getting every last penny out of a model - remember the volumes of 45xx/Ivatt/M7 models that were not DCC ready and got quite cheap in the end before the tooling was life expired - there was a hint of a DCC model in the future.
-
I remember the 504s at Victoria, always amazed at the speed they approached the terminus but never took the train to Bury.
I've learnt something today though, I always thought the flat crossing had always existed and only realised today it was built after the station had shut and cut right through the middle of it.

I've seen the new site Dave, it looks neat but as JSpencer says it's needs checking through - one thing that may cause a problem might be the choice of livery option then the choice of model option - on the 71 for example only BR Green is showing but the model options then include TOPS numbered versions.
But clearly if you've not been able to see the site yourself then it is still early days but at least I saw a payment screen (didn't follow the link past the billing address) - you might want to consider using HTTPS rather than HTTP, Google have a big drive on this at the moment so your site (like RMWeb and many others) is flagging as not secure on Chrome. I am sure the Lloyds bit will be secure but it would look better if the whole site was secure not just the payment bit as you are asking for customer details on some pages.
Also very brave to put your phone number on there.

And side burns!!
I suspect people who might recognise themselves might not want to admit it.
Is that how we really looked in the eighties?

''Tis a thing of beauty Dave

I am the proud owner of 5 DJM made locomotives plus a couple of carriages. I wouldn't be in 00 if these models didn't exist, my N collection has a strong Dapol presence, again the hand of Dave is in there.
As a maker of models there is no doubt Dave has the skill, not everyone likes coreless motors but they seem to be a thing these days and my locos operate flawlessly on my layout.
Did Dave announce some models subsequently announced by others too, yes, it's a fact, was Dave there first, who knows, I suspect there is a mix of reasons and only those in the business with connections will know the truth. It goes without saying though that Hornby even whilst in financial doldrums has more resources available to it than Dave and if they felt a strategic model was about to be lost to them it would be possible to react quickly.
The model railway environment has changed very quickly since Dave went solo, the traditional model has gone out of the window with Dave adopting the Crowdfunding model now as a way forwards. Nothing wrong in that, it works quite successfully especially with RevolutioN.
Where I think Dave went wrong is that he did not anticipate the issues with using PayPal, would I be correct to assume that apart from some crowdfunded wagons all large items would have used Kernow's and Hattons' card processing facilities. Not having the e-commerce site up and running first with a website that focussed purely on the current models in progress I think is where all the issues are stemming from. Where we are now is that there are three models needing payments and no means to collect payment, that could be a killer if not turned around quickly and I do hope for Dave's sake that his webmaster is working on that site today
Edit I was writing this whilst Andy was cleaning up the bickering, feel free to remove this as well.

And that is a very different hat, what is your problem here?

Or as The Nightporter is a film they used a prop that looked like what they wanted for that film.
I've never looked at a C&M advert and gone that girl is representing someone from the Third Reich.

Cheers everyone
Well that’s really it, van gone, equipment handed back and not so much as a thank you or hand shake for the last 5 years of my working life, just a cardboard box with the stuff they needed back dumped unceremoniously in the control room, no manager to give me a leaving interview, nothing!
A proper kick in the teeth for me for all I’ve done for them the last 5 years, never felt so dejected in my life when I walked out the door for the last time
It's the same everywhere Jim
I guess they know why you're leaving and some will be jealous you've got out and other's won't want to face the inevitable agreement that things just ain't right.

Hi Jim
That last shot you took of the NMT leaving Crewe with that young lad also watching it - that's a really poignant shot - watching something for the final time, the inner child in us all who spent countless hours watching trains leaving stations taking photos.
it was the perfect sign off shot if you ask me.
Good luck at GBRF

Can you put your cassettes on the end of the sector plate and have both?
Then for shunting you use the sector plate and if you want to store the train then it passes through the sector plate to a cassette.
If you are only talking 15 inches I expect you will be able to find an extra 15 inches spare

It's a pity the inside isn't as immaculate as the outside, looks ready for service then you open the bonnet and someone has nicked all the wiring.

Pilmoor Class 37 up freight Jan 68 J1204 - it's a 40.

The "new" end is purely a shunt only cab.
It has a high intensity headlight as well, do they need those for shunting or might it be expected to move by itself on the mainline?
-
And why do you have a woman in SS Uniform in your adverts or have I missed something?
Because 'Vee haff vays to make you buy'

Now I don't want to sound like one of those people over in the Locomotion Single thread which has been really quite something to follow -popcorn recommended - but I am getting mildly annoyed that payment was taken by Rails on the 3rd, including the fee for 48 hour delivery, but 4 days later it doesn't appear to have even been dispatched yet.
Now I like to think of myself as someone who thinks rationally, and I understand Rails got quite a hefty delivery from Hornby, as well as their Dyn(I still can't spell it) cars arriving, so they probably have a bit of a back log.
Just not the usual speedy service from Rails is all. To me it seems odd to take payment if you're not ready to ship an item shortly after, but heck I don't work in dispatch so it must be a system that works for them. It secures the order at least.
Not that I'm in a rush to get it, working pretty solidly this week, little time to play trains!
You're not the only one, I don't understand why this has been in stock since last week (including Rails at the end of the week) and still no notification of dispatch.
It's not the end of the world no, but the everyone else managed to get their stock and distribute it and Rails seem to not be doing so.

Nottingham electrification exhibition train Oct 71 J2784
What kind of joke exhibition was this - it's now 2018 47 years later and still no mainline wires in Nottingham just the trams with are also only in the last decade.

Try some of the second hand dealers for stock - if you are starting out buying all new can be expensive.
http://www.sandjmodelrailways.co.uk/
http://www.thejunctionbox.net/shop/
plus others if you look on Google
There is also Hattons and Rails secondhand but these tend to be pricier than the smaller outlets.
If you are confident with E-Bay that is also a good place to find stuff.

About to put the finishing touches to the five buses for the Sri Lanka project, then there is a pause for 5/6 months
Whatever will you do with all that time back? Though I suppose as you'll soon be entering the cooler period in Spain you will have a list of things to mend/do before you get a look at your project room.

Apologies, I read right past it, didn't see it but now it's plain as day.
