Maybe your cat was trained by an upmarket hotel to leave gifts on pillows?

I kept missing it on Ebay and I'm being a bit of a scrooge with my money at the minute. However the slightly damaged copy in Smiths on half price was one I didn't hesitate on picking up.

  12. To Templot or not Templot? That is the question. Reading the website, liking the look of it thus far.

Too much of this vegetable nonsense plays havoc with my digestion, might I suggest a few fragrant gaseous emissions blamed on your new diet? Worked for me.

  18. Finding it difficult to comprehend this is the 25th New Year he will see in. Happy New Year everyone, may it be a good one for everyone.

They evoke such atmosphere.....I simply adored the picture of the CR single with the white-washed coal!

  20. New year's resolution: don't take on the Thompson bashers...!!!;)

There's got to be a better way. The railway media have for a very long time being entirely dismissive of the man and everything he did. Perhaps the only way to beat back the continued diatribe is to write an article for the press.

    2. S.A.C Martin

      S.A.C Martin

How do you beat back fifty years of propaganda? Tell it like it is Tom. There's so much diatribe aimed at Thompson's engineering when I would argue there was a very large class of inferior Pacifics which are generally accepted as good machines. No prizes for guessing which!

    3. Timara

      Timara

Well, please don't keep us guessing - we're dying to find out :-)

I'm hoping you're not thinking of the class I'm thinking of.......

  21. Annnnnnnnnd we're back! Well done Andy and Jim! :)

  22. Ah well, can at least start making plans for modelling next year!

  23. Last day of work before Christmas, seriously envious of the rolling road I can hear rattling in the office adjacent to me. The boss is running in a Railroad County now...!

I once put my car on a rolling road. The results were embarrassing.

    2. S.A.C Martin

      S.A.C Martin

I did too once. I'll bet my Volvo's results were more embaressing than yours! :D

  24. My god, the Railroad compound's colour is...interesting. Looks like the real life Royal Scot's current colour...!

  25. Trying desperately not to laugh. Boss man has a new toy in his office - a Hornby rolling road and a Railroad D49. What an awfully good idea, mind, for running in during work hours...!
