  4. I can't think of anywhere better to put this, so think of it as a sequel to the RHTT! Snow & Ice Treatment Train (SITT) at Minster earlier today: SITTing down by Ed, on Flickr Ed
  5. https://www.flickr.com/photos/fav77/36585231490/in/photostream/ Not too sure about the two-dimensional backscene. Ed
  6. I hope this counts as in the landscape! A couple from a rather snowy Gerrards Cross earlier today: 166018 by Ed, on Flickr 172104 by Ed, on Flickr Ed
  7. A few shots from a couple of the Kent circuits (albeit operated by the same 73136/73128 ensemble): RHTT by Ed, on Flickr RHTT by Ed, on Flickr RHTT by Ed, on Flickr 73128 by Ed, on Flickr Ed
  8. Thank you! I thought I might have a go with dental floss and plasticard, though the scalemodelscenery ones do look good. Diagrams would be very useful, thanks. Ed
  9. A bit more progress this evening. Side extensions were added to the Warwell's deck using 3mm strips of styrene and 4.5 x 4.5mm squares: Warwell deck extensions by Ed, on Flickr These were then painted with Humbrol acrylics no. 30 (green) and rail colour no. 407 (warning yellow - a very good match for the colour used by Hatton's). The Warrior cradle was given a couple of coats of no. 30 and some rust streaks (Vallejo dark brown): Warwell by Ed, on Flickr Untitled by Ed, on Flickr Untitled by Ed, on Flickr Untitled by Ed, on Flickr I'll attempt the deck extension supports, tension straps, and some proper weathering in due course. Ed
  10. Thank you! Yes I have - more styrene sheet: Warwell deck extensions by Ed, on Flickr Painted with Humbrol no. 30 and rail colour 407: Warwell by Ed, on Flickr Ed
  11. Hi all, Having received my 2000s-era Warwells I've had a go at building a cradle for carrying Warriors. Hatton's Warwells by Ed, on Flickr Warwell Cradle 3 by Ed, on Flickr Have a look at my workbench topic for a bit more information. Ed
  12. Hi all, After a long absence (at least from posting updates on RMWeb) I'm back. A few weeks ago I received a couple of Hatton's KWA Warwells. I had in mind a very clear idea of what they should carry - Warrior armoured vehicles (albeit Revell 1:72 versions!). Hatton's Warwells by Ed, on Flickr However, in reality the Warrior armoured vehicles should be mounted on specially-designed cradles for rail transportation. Pictures of these cradles without anything sitting on them are fairly hard to come by but I did find a few after a bit of searching: https://www.flickr.com/photos/60854097@N06/32957143525/ https://ukrailwaypics.smugmug.com/Daybyday/2011daysout/2011-10-13-Southampton/i-q3qvQPn/A Side-on views were also helpful: Warrior on a Warwell flat wagon by Think Defence, on Flickr https://flic.kr/p/DZmPgs After collecting some research photos and some appropriate lengths of styrene section, I began work. Warwell Cradle 1 by Ed, on Flickr This is what I ended up with: Warwell Cradle 2 by Ed, on Flickr It is by no means perfect (I'm not convince by the layout of the longitudinal beams) but I'm happy enough with it. Warwell Cradle 3 by Ed, on Flickr Warwell Cradle 4 by Ed, on Flickr It's now primed and ready to be finished off in green and rust. Ed
  13. Great work as always. In answer to the question - creating removable wagon loads? Ed
  14. The Warrior's turret is offset to one side which (presumably) affects the loading gauge. Ed
  15. There is evidence for their running facing forward too: Military load No 2 by Stuart Riley, on Flickr See also: https://www.flickr.com/photos/johndedman/8451866868/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/johndedman/8459307204/ Ed
  16. Superb work, James! Au contraire! Here's 68018 at Eynsford on its way back from Canterbury West last July (not my photo): A day of firsts. by Rob Barton, on Flickr Ed
  17. Oh I see what you mean - the Warwells decorated in their current guise will have an inaccurate tooling. My apologies if I came across rather brusque. Ed
  18. Unless I've missed something, the refurbished Warwell will in fact be produced (see here). There was some question of their not modifying the tooling to suit, though. Ed
  19. Cycling past Wolvercote Junction on my way to Godstow today I came across Colas 70805 at the head of an engineering train. Another Colas class 70 was on the other end. The train was still there on my way back a couple of hours later. Ed 70805 Wolvercote by Ed, on Flickr 70805 Wolvercote by Ed, on Flickr 70805 Wolvercote by Ed, on Flickr
  20. Thank you! Progress has been rather slow in the past year but the project is still alive and kicking. One 92 so far (Hornby DBS 92042) though I quite fancy getting a DJM one. Ed
  21. Excellent, thanks for the information. Ed
