  1. Does anyone know if these two layouts are the same layout or two independent layouts? Track plans and scenery are almost identical!
  2. As a freight train driver who works mainly on 66s I love looking at the 59s and thinking what if. If my lot had bought 250 59s the world would be a better place! As for twin pipes, surely the 59/0s had main res pipes fitted to provide air pressure for the bottom doors? We run single piped trains at 75MPH so whether there's a main res or not is insignificant to train speed. Instead it is mainly brake force and RA that influence this.
  3. Are you still able to re-blow a 3.5 with your sounds LMBiffo?
  4. Aye I'm not complaining, I was just reading my railway modeller and wondering whether it was Gallowgate or Scotswood Road. Personally, Ian Futers Ullapool layout is the one that has inspired me to get into O gauge. Although I've not seen it recently, I gather Ullapool has been transformed. Modern Day inspiration for me is Elcot Road, I've recently bought plenty of NSE era OO gauge. Just waiting for the layout to be built.
  5. Hi all, I'm thinking of investing in a couple of their 2HAP models. I just wonder if anyone has any views on their Southern Region EMU models. I also notice they have plenty of AC models. They are expensive, but offer excellent value if comparing them to a RTR kit, such as a Bratchell offering. Cheers Dave
  6. Oh I realised that. Just wanted to pick a year that I knew was blue and loco hauled. What years would have seen blue and green locos? I'll admit it's not my era!
  7. They still do that now. Or at least did when I was a Blackfriars driver.
  8. In 88 they still had services to Canterbury and Sheerness. I'd assumed these were Ceps or at the very least Veps?
  9. Very kind of you! If only I could get hold of a track plan for Moorgate in the 70s.....
  10. I know they're small but the quality these days is outstanding!
  11. Cheers for that! You wouldn't mind sharing the working timetable code would you? I might be able to find one on a certain auction site! If not I'll pick up the br timetable for the period and do as you suggest.
  12. Well I was thinking along the same lines. However I'd have 33s and 73s on my parcels/papers. I'd love to do it in N gauge if only farish would produce an EPB!
  13. I love the additional line allowing greater operational flexibility! I now need to get hold of a working timetable for Moorgate in 1975. Wish me luck! As for formations, just 4 Suburbans should do it.
  14. Well it could already be in the bin. Having suggested Holborn Viaduct to my modelling compatriot, he has other ideas! He has his heart set on modelling 24s/31s and Suburbans. So Moorgate will now be the basis. I just need to track down the excellent representation of Moorgate built for the minories challenge!
  15. For a while I've toyed with the idea of building a minories representation of Holborn Viaduct. It would accommodate at least four car EMUs and for interest would include parcels and newspaper traffic. It will be set in the mid 1980s. The scenic board will be 8ft x 1ft6. Fiddle yard will be a traverser able to accommodate 4 car EMUs. So 4ft should be adequate. I'll post my interpretation later but if anyone has any thoughts or ideas they are very much welcomed. Dave
  16. Does anyone know which Working Timetable I'd need to get for the Moorgate Suburban services before they went over to solid DMUs?
  17. Hi Cav, With these wagons being international I'd suggest maybe an Ebange (Thionville in France) to Shotton working. It would have travelled on the Dover Train Ferry. It would have been a 56 or 47. It would have required banking up through Peak Forest for sure! It's looking great, love the peak district. Dave
  18. Has anyone managed to fit sound to one of these? I know Mr Bachmann at the N gauge show said he'd left room under the fan for a sugar cube speaker. However Paul TPXGuard suggested to me that Mr Bachmann hadn't done so!
  19. Jack can I ask how you completed the Tiger Rail wagon? What frames and bogies did you use? Cheers for any info!
  20. Ian's work is simply stunning. I've just had him work on one of my 47s. The trouble is once you've got one you need more!!!
  21. It's not the same bloke who's got half of the UK's 37s in his collection?!
