  1. Garage railway room is almost finished!! Whoop whoop!!

  2. The way I see it, the most likely people to be putting money in the slot are going to be youngsters, so do you really need to worry about the 'realism' side of things? I'm sure all they will be bothered about is seeing trains zooming round and round. Like others have said I think giving the scatter a refresh and maybe adding a gimmick or two would do the trick (I'm partial to a windmill). Anyway that's just my point of view. Good luck with whatever you decide to do, and I hope it raises plenty money.
  3. Now this one did make me chuckle. I wonder which "professional" weathered this piece of c**p. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CLASS-31-DIESEL-WITH-A-RAKE-OF-2-LIMA-MK2-COACHES-/231454240077?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item35e3bf6d4d
  4. What's going on here? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mainline-Class-45-Diesel-Loco-unpainted-grey-plastic-pre-production-model-/390932052587?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item5b055dba6b
  5. I took this shot when I was called out at silly o'clock in the morning. Even a sewage works can look good given the right light! In the back ground can be seen the cranes on the river tyne.
  6. I wonder if I will actually build all my kits?

...and like many you head of this crisi moment by stockpiling others...... just in case. A shared site wide lottery win please so we can all approach our "kit mountains" with resolve?

  8. That's a superb find thank you so much! And also NSE mk1 stock too, doesn't get much better! I'd best get the cheque book out! Thanks to all who have posted.
  9. I have recently inherited some of these CCT's from my father which I plan on doing the same thing as you so will watch this thread with interest, looks great so far! How did you obtain the parts from ABS? Do they have a website or anything? Do you know if they attend any shows such as warley coming up? With mine I had planned on getting some flush glazing, I think shawplan do some, and possibly fit some sprung w irons, if I could figure out which type to use, and fit new axle guards/springs. Maybe also fit some cast buffers, again if I knew which ones to get! And of course a repaint into BR blue. Keep up the good work!
  10. I picked a bundle of these wagons on ebay recently for next to nothing as most of them have damage to the bogies/underframe detail. I would like to scrap the existing underframe and fit new better looking items. Can anybody suggest where I would get the various detailing parts such as brake levers/linkages, buffers etc? Ive seen that bill Bedford does a nice w irons etch for modern freight stock which I would like to fit if they are suitable for the OAA? Found here https://www.eileensemporium.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=eny_fly_default.tpl&product_id=5758&category_id=288&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=9 As always any help appreciated.
  11. Hi guys, thank you all for the replies and help, it's exactly what I was after. I especially liked the pictures of the HEA hoppers on the flat bed wagons, would love to replicate that on my layout. Does any body know if there's a RTR or kit model available for the flat bed wagon in the pictures? I don't know what type it is. Cheers.
  12. Hi. On my layout I have a wagon repair shed/works. Its never occurred to me to consider how crippled wagons are moved to the repair works. Are they loaded onto flat bed wagons and moved that way? If so what types of wagons are used for this purpose? My layout is set 70s/80s. Cheers.
  13. I had never thought about the red stripe scotrail livery! That may also be an option as well as the blue. If anybody has any pictures of either livery at Penzance or on Penzance bound services that would be much appreciated!
  14. Thank you guys for the info, and Geoff that's exactly the type of pic I was looking for so thanks! I think I will order one now, take the scotrail branding off and add the NSE flashes. Just one question, would the small NSE flashes be on both cab sides and both ends?
  15. Thats a shame. I thought, as John pointed out, that with the scotrail locos being re allocated to NSE that a rogue 47 might have slipped through. Ive found pictures of NSE 47's at penzance so i was hoping one might have visited before a repaint. Never mind, modellers license it is! Thanks guys.
  16. Hi. I really fancy getting a hold of the new Bachmann 47 in scotrail livery to add to my fleet for my Penzance based layout. The question is would a scotrail machine in this livery ever have been to Penzance? Even just once? Would be nice if I could justify having it without the application of modellers licence. Cheers for the help.
