  1. This page may or may not help with finding the best 3d drawing software.
  2. Painted incorrectly? well, that would depend on what colour the reverse of these signals were painted. On the three doll signals to the left of the bridge in the foreground, two of the three arms have black stripes on an indeterminate background.
  3. Given that most people don't get into serious modelling until after their mid-life crisis, unless you are planning to live till you are 110, you will never know whether your cunning plan has worked.
  4. Are you sure about that? all the photos I could turn up tonight have the knuckle behind the crankpin.
  5. It's just clickbait, best to ignore it.
  6. That's why so many people like the idea of working from home...
  7. Yep But is that a coloured light signal at the base of the one that is off?
  8. There are two Photos in the GWR Goods Wagon tome. Note that the original pair had a signal lamp bracket in the centre of the cabin. For more info about the Branches Forks branch see BRJ No 52 pub 1994.
  9. I've looked through my copy of 'A Pictorial Record OF LNER Constituent Signalling' and found a photo of a NER signal with a red face and a black band. I feel that signal colours were changed or standardised before the grouping.
  10. I'm not sure I'd want to be a member of any club that would have me as a member.
  11. Great Anglian Railway, obviously ignoring the Mercian bit on the Western edge.
  12. I was thinking of a Belpaire B1 by 1915
  13. It's really hard making predictions, especially about the future.
  14. The idea that everyone who worked on the shop floor always voted Labour is one of the many misconceptions of the MSM.
  15. So let's have a bit of fun... If HS2 was finished as a roundy-roundy, say, London - Birmingham - Manchester - Leeds - Nottingham - London, and the London bit called "CrossRail3, " there wouldn't need to be a terminus anywhere, just relief sidings out in the country to allow the trains to change directions.
  16. Someone is confusing the number of property-owning middle class with the number of people who admit to expecting to vote Tory in the next election.
  17. So, imaginary loco, eh? Here's the scenario. The GCR, GNR and GER planned to amalgamate. In 1910, the bill that would facilitate this was thrown out by Parliament, but what if it had gone ahead? In 1910, Robinson had seniority, Gresley had not yet produced his first design, the H1 2-6-0, and Stephen Holden had only been CME for two years. So what locos would Robinson have built for the whole group, either with Gresley as his assistant or not?
  18. Disc wheels were first introduced around the time of WW1, and it took maybe 20-30 years for the majority of stock to be fitted with them. There are photos of MET Dreadnought carriages fitted with spoked wheels.
  19. But we have two Neoliberal parties - Tweedlecon and Tweedlelab. It's the old saw:- It doesn't matter who you vote for, the government will still get in.
  20. Media reports suggest that TfL is mulling the idea of fitting cardboard steering wheels to some of these new DLR trains. Why? Because some passengers will like pretending to be the driver. These trains will be identifiable (presumably they mean from the outside) by special "driving the train" stickers. http://www.itv.com/news/london/2024-01-11/london-trains-could-get-cardboard-steering-wheels-to-boost-passengers-fun
  21. Why not? It's quite interesting just how many of the RLP's ideas have been taken up by "serious" politicians.
  22. There is this thing called the Internet. I'm assuming that there is someone in Yemen who is at least as good as anyone here in using it.
  23. Or start a campaign to get people to write on the bottom of the voting slips: V.V.P. | X Cat pigeons panic...
  24. Mrs T's policies have worked as far as there are 30-40% of the electorate who have a vested interest in the value of their property not diminishing, and who can be relied on to vote for the "right" parties.
  25. There is evidence that the Houthis can burrow down through information from management and holding companies to know precisely who owns the targeted ships. It seems that ships carrying Russian oil to India are not bothered by the forces of either side.
