  1. I’ve ordered (one) but not needed to contact them since. Not much help, sorry
  2. I just replaced an aging Digitrains decoder with a Zimo MX600 in an old Bachman Warship and it’s behaviour has me puzzled I think it was OK before (but can’t be certain) but now it can’t keep a consistent speed One minute it’s a scalded cat, the next it’s crawling. The current consumption seems to stay the same so I don’t THINK the mechanics are binding. But I’m out of other ideas Ive given it a thorough lube and the wheels are (mostly) spotless Am I missing something obvious? Thanks Phil G
  3. I’ve always had a soft spot for the Isle of Man, and since I discovered Tilligs awesome range of TT/HOm 12mm track work, I keep hoping some manufacturer will pick up the Manx gauntlet 12mm is close enough for their steam railway, electric railway AND Snaefell mountain railway…….. May just be a bit too niche though. Pity Mind you, to me Lynton & Barsnstaple is even more niche!
  4. Yeah, I inadvertantly spoke to his partner last year.. I was going to ask when the Class 08 lighting kits would be back in stock, and she was good enough to give me the bad news
  5. I really can't tell if this is serious or not :) :) :) With todays technology it might well be, but ........ I doubt Rails will tell me the barcode of MY box :(
  6. Thanks, but not really It was the TINY LEDs that Bachmann have used for tail and train reporting lights (disc headcode versions) on their 20/0 - like these https://railsofsheffield.com/blogs/news/Bachmann-class-20-w-sound
  7. Maybe I’ll do some more digging. I was hoping for “diy” though…..
  8. I guess so - next time I have the body off I'll try and see
  9. tbh, I’m not sure I can get at them! From the outside they’re perhaps 1mm (or less) diameter….
  10. Does anyone know if it’s possible to get spare LEDs as used in the new Bachman class 20? They’d look great added to some other models I have Cheers
  11. I’m planing in using a Zimo MX638C/D for mine Zimos are amazing and this one you can switch between logic and full voltage outputs
  12. I chatted to Zimo. It’s a design decision (which is why only their newer decoders do it)
  13. Zimos MX634C has logic level, as does the MX638. Be advised though that there is only ONE MX638bdecoder, although you may see mention of MX638C or D. The “D” version has full function voltage, but you switch between the C and D variants by writing a value to cv8. Write 3 to make a C or 4 to make a D.
  14. Thanks for the unambiguous answer Fran Much appreciated and if I ever need to add a Zimo sound chip, I know what to go with
  15. It probably also depends on whether Accurascale are actually USING those “suspect” outputs for anything anyway For non-sound, I intend to use 21MTC Zimos that can be configured either way, but it would be good to know which is “right”
  16. Apologies, I feel sure I’ve asked this question already but cannot now find the answer The Deltics have an MTC21 DCC socket, BUT does it require logic level on outputs 3 and 4 or full function voltage? I’ll need to chip my non-sound one when it arrives so time to plan Many thanks
  17. Don't think the OP was talking about sound decoders?? The decoder references he quoted certainly aren't for sound If he was, then ignore my comments about £20 Zimos!
  18. I have to admit to significant bias (I now don’t buy anyone else’s decoders, apart from the occasional ESU sound decoder) but I’d suggest you give Zimo a try. You will get a decoder to fit any of your current models for £20 each. Honestly, you won’t regret it. That said, if you buy from someone like Coastal DCC they have an amazing return policy!
  19. I’m starting to feel jealousy creeping in. I’ve two models “on order”. One from Rails and one from Locomotion. Neither have asked for any more money - yet….. Trying to be patient, but it’s not easy
