  1. Doh! Of course it was me all along. I cloned the cv settings from an out of date version F5 should (of course) be "Drive Hold" and "Disable Brake Sound" (or in cv terms, 16.8.372=128, 16.8.373=64 and 16.8.37=0 - using DecoderPros shorthand for ESUs indexed cvs)
  2. Wellll...... It took a while but eventually I had to order a basic rail blue class 31/4 Many happy memories bashing the only loco hauled train from Newcastle to Sunderland in my student days (it conveyed sleeping cars to Darlington for onward attachment to Kings Cross) It was rostered for an ETH Class 31 so was virtually always 31 408 or 418 (hint hint - skinhead rail blue class 31/4 please) Happy Days Phil G PS I did get a Deltic on this service once..... They also cancelled the preceding stopping service so it became all-stations to Sunderland with lots of Deltic starts
  3. Just installed an Accurascale sound decoder into my second Deltic, but I'm having issues getting Drive Hold to work It works just fine in my version with the factory fitted decoder, and I just cloned the function map settings for this new decoder So what gives? Anyone else hit the same issue or who might know what I did wrong?? Thanks Phil G PS Happy Christmas :)
  4. The decoder’s the easy part. What about the AccuraThrash?
  5. Mine arrived today, but I kind of expected fitting instructions too. Are they online somewhere please?
  6. Sorry, I wasn’t clear. I’d like a SINGLE function button to sound high THEN low horn. Not both together. To do this now I have to hit two function buttons in sequence, and there’s always a lag between my WuThrittle/JMRI/RasPi/Lenz and finally the loco
  7. Has anyone figured out how to get a 2 tone horn sound on ONE function key? I like the flexibility of having the two individual tones, but sometimes it’d be nice to have two tones on the same button……
  8. Hmm. I’m using a Lenz LZV200 command station, but I’d be surprised if the type of DCC system in use made any difference
  9. Doh! So, Zimo equipped Deltic is here: and ESU equipped Deltic is here Maybe the ESU back-emf needs tweaking/enhancing somehow, but I am a long way from comfortable with all those CVs!!
  10. Right. Taken me a while, but here’s why I just LOVE Zimo decoders Two videos. 55 015 (white windows) has a Zimo chip. NO changes to ANY cvs to get this crawl at speed step 1 D9009 has the ESU sound decoder, and this is at speed step 3 but still doesn’t crawl reliably. It stutters all the time. This is also (so far) without messing with any cvs - but Zimo show it shouldn’t be necessary Snag. How do I upload videos from my iPad??? Videos are posted in the next but one post below
  11. Mine didn’t. Spent a while printing it last night. Not sure when I’ll get time to read it though. I think my time will be better spent looking at how DecoderPro supports these decoders
  12. With Lenz it's pretty good at slow speed too, though I have increased the acceleration delay to 40 (and deceleration to 25) to smooth out any sudden speed changes. Luckily I also discovered that the shunting mode works pretty much like the Zimo decoders I use so that makes for simpler shunting I still don't think the slow speed running is as good as Zimo (out of the box) but it's much better than I feared
  13. Cool (and thanks, though you didn't have to answer on a weekend!!)
  14. I'm sure I read somewhere, but can't find it now. Have Accurascale said when the sound decoders and speakers may be available??
  15. If it came with AccuraScales sound, it already has that speaker installed Sorry if my list has confused people
  16. I knew it wouldn't last - just placed my order for Accurathrash speaker and sound chip for the one non-sound fitted version I ended up with As an aside, I tried the sound chip I do have in the DCC ready model - and the difference that extra speaker makes is astounding. Without it, it almost doesn't sound like a Deltic!! SO if you are also pondering the sound upgrade, please do consider the extra £15 (or so) for the Accurathrash as well
  17. Or ONE unnumbered with a selection of diy numbers?
  18. Aha! I did a little digging tonight (dangerous, I know) and found that Aux3, 4 and 11 were set very dim. I increased the brightness settings and now I can see lights!
  19. Even as a confirmed Zimo fanatic, I'm starting to realise that these Deltics have been designed and built with ESU decoders in mind - and it's probably more trouble than it's worth to use anything else. And as AccuraScale add more functionality to their models this is going to become even more true I think (consider operating pantographs and flange squeal detection)
  20. Accurascale sent me the attached, but I haven’t been able to see the cabs illuminated yet….
  21. Not patronising at all. I did try looking closely but didn't discern any difference between ON & OFF, but I'll double check later (not that it goes that dark at the moment!!) Though the engine room lights on my other model (with a temporary Zimo decoder) are plenty bright enough to see
  22. Been away for a couple of weeks, so my two Deltics have only just arrived. And I have lighting issues with both of them…. Before I contact Accurascale, I wondered if anyone else had hit the same problems - and fixed them My sound fitted D9009 Alicydon does not want to illuminate the cab lights with F12 nor the engine room lights with F25. Do any cvs need tweaking? The head and red marker lights are fine though Im hitting one problem at a time, so I want to get these fixed first Thanks Phil G
  23. Finally got my hands on my DCC ready 55 015 from Locomotion (it arrived while I was in Santorini!) worried about adding a decoder as there didn’t seem to be much finger space and the blanking plate sits half under the fixed roof. But it was easier than I feared However. With the default Zimo function settings I can’t turn the cab lights ON nor the engine room lights OFF. If anyone else has successfully used a Zimo decoder I’d love to share notes before I start experimenting! Oh, and there were NO LOOSE BITS. Which is a relief
  24. This is why I was asking Accurascale to document which lights are wired to which functions. Only then is it possible to know which F button can be mapped to what light. So far I haven’t seen this (other from other modellers who have described how their versions seem to work)
