  1. Not to mention the latest Bachman class 20s (non head code version)
  2. I think I read somehting somewhere that the Class 31s may now be a "phased" delivery (or I may have been dreaming!), but I agree. The project status page is a great source of information but ONLY if it can be kept up to date I totally accept that some things are unknown, but 2023Q2 is April/May/June in my book, and we're at June 3rd with no imminent news, so it surely does look like they won't be here in the next 3 weeks :(
  3. And apologies from me for starting this off-reality discussion (I'd certainly not be queuing up to buy a "fake" anyway :))
  4. Makes you wonder if there's a market for fictitious liveries...... InterCity Swallow anyone?? Mind you, not sure how that would match up with Accurascales committment to accuracy and fidelity :)
  5. tbh, I took his description of "keyboard expert" to mean those that THINK they know best just because they can type anonymously. I didn't detect any slight against those that DO know their subject and are heppy to help and not just criticise
  6. Any updates on possible delivery dates Fran? I need to know whether I’ll need to give you my new address (which I don’t even know yet!)
  7. Gave up trying to get Zimos to work in mine and (reluctantly) went with the “preferred” ESU option. For my forthcoming Class 31 I don’t think there’s any other option due to the flange-squeal sensor. Accurascale are designing their electrics around ESU specifically
  8. Your LH101 will tell you what version you have in your LZV200 ive also just discovered that JMRI may not support higher functions either Also, the Lenz website does say you need LH101 v2.1, but I didn’t!
  9. My LH101 is only at v2.0 but DOES support the higher functions - at least I tested f29 which is above the range of the older LZV200 versions But the function select button does go all the way to the 60's Phio; G
  10. Apparently not. Both Heljan and GaugeMaster have said “no thanks” to TT120 Obviously I can’t speak to why
  11. The only concerns I personally have is that Hornby think the road to success is exclusivity. As industry everywhere shows, just the opposite is true. They’re also cutting the model shop community out of their endeavours so at a stroke they’ve turned potential advocates into detractors And as for announcing such a broad range of “eventually available” items, they’ve just turned off all other potential companies who could help build momentum All somewhat strange decisions
  12. I hadn’t seen it before your post either. So maybe not just you
  13. Can I just add, you must do ALL of this cv writes IN THIS ORDER. If you skip any or if any fail (especially for cvs 31 and 32), you will not be changing what you think you're changing Not trying to put anyone off, but it’s far too easy to get tangled up, hence the suggestion to save all cv values first
  14. If you’re programming cvs manually, you’re looking at a whole world of complexity and infinite ways to really mess up your function button settings Have you ever used DecoderPro/JMRI or a LokProgrammer? They will make it much simpler and also give you a way to “put things back” if you do get your fingers tangled Alternatively, if you list here what you want to achieve, someone may be able to give you a list of cvs you need to change (but there will be 3 or more for EVERY function you want to move) Or drop me a PM with your eMail address if you’d like some help with the DecoderPro option. I just remapped a load of functions on a non UK model to more closely math Accurascales Deltics.
  15. But do the really know/care about the innards of a “model train”. Equally, are they even aware of what a “controller” really is/should be? The latter just makes the former go
  16. Lifetime warranty just means they'll replace it should any part prove to be defective It does NOT (necessarily) mean that the controller is "fit for purpose" to use some legalese. Ultimately I guess it's up to the buyer to ensure that the controller he/she buys is suitable to run the trains he/she has without causing damage
  17. As DCC has become more “mainstream” people rightly pay less attention to its uniqueness and just want to run trains Recently bought an Australian loco from Auscision and it came with all sorts of dire warnings about old controllers, even for non DCC versions. And firm statements to the effect that “we’ll know if you broke it by yourself - we will not cover this kind of damage under warranty” Then again, who reads instructions……..
  18. Mine was actually a pretty snug fit without any assistance needed
  19. Noooo! They have a SUGAR CUBE and a keepalive, but they DON'T have the AccuraThrash speaker (which you really do need). The hardest part really is getting the body off (while you're in there, why not add a crew as well!!) The decoder replaces the dummy board that's plugged onto the 21-pin plug (be VERY careful not to bend the pins when removing and inserting decoders - they're bit fragile and hard to straighten again). The AccuraThrash just plugs into the 2-pin socket that's obvious, and the speaker sits snugly in place
  20. Assuming you’re being facetious. It’s really the worldwide chip shortage that is behind the shortage of decoders
  21. You’re lucky to have them I think. Almost nobody else has “high end” DCC decoders at the moment!
  22. I managed to make an M2.5 fit, but I had to experiment with 5mm and 6mm long ones (from eBay as it happens)
  23. Thanks - that was my thinking also i do have a question open with them, but with Christmas I thought I’d ask here too
  24. Does anyone know which if the two wires on this keepalive are which? It didn’t come with instructions… Blue & Black. Either one could be the positive or the common connection :( I’m looking to add it to a LokSound5 where I’m constrained for space (and using a SACC16 between it and the decoder for “safety”) Cheers, and Happy Christmas
